So, piggybacking off that, we need to establish priorities. I agree with Chief- Power definitely has to come first. Is there enough manpower left to get the power back on? If not, do we still make progress or focus our energies elsewhere to get something else we can use?

We have 6 cycles to complete there. Unfortunately, Autumn was Mr. Cycle Calculator. Someone will have to dive back into the rules and get a handle on things, so we can figure it out again.

As for repairs, only engineers can do them at present. CF and Simbo repaired the medical facilities. So hoops and DV working together can complete 3 cycles of repair; working day and night, they'll have the power back up by morning.

Repairs don't work like conversions guys. Engineers can fix 1 cycle of damage and the Chief Engineer can fix 2 if he works with another I think.

Except that as the only people capable of doing repairs, engineers are CRUCIAL... unless/until we do the medium research that lets everyone do repairs.

I looked after he didn't elaborate and it didn't say anything about capacity. Having a backup in case of success (that alone is crazy to me) isn't bad, but it's pretty obvious we're going to need more engineers.

I think we do the research today and try our best to get enough of the power grid fixed to enable full use of the medical facilities. (Can we re-route power?) Then we medically scan 2 people we strongly suspect to be spawn. Then we do the same with our votes tonight.

I was about to make the funny point that we would win then, because we control the guns. Then I remembered the engineers controlled the power to the armory, lol.

I presume, though, that us security peeps are better at hand to hand than the Geek Squad.

If we figure it's 4-6 cycles to do medium research (since it looks like it's 8-10 on the high level research), and we have two scientists, we can a day and night shift might get the medium research done by the start of tomorrow's day shift, and for sure by the end of the day tomorrow.

With the crew quarters kaboshed and so much repair there, I don't think it much matters if we're all exhausted now, because that's what we will pretty much be most of the time until we can get to fixing that.

So we might as well work day and night. Treat night shifts like day shifts for work, just work around the clock. We'll pass around speed tabs or something.

It will be important to get this organized within the first hour or so of the night shift every night, because that is when most everyone will be around.

Sounds good to me Chief. I've got to get some sleep, but will try to be back on right before deadline. For now, I will say that I think hoops should be scan target #1 and Crimson #2. We just need to know we can count on hoops before we know what our repairs will look like.

Yeah, we have 21 storage spots available.

We can re-route power to the water supplier, but note that we were forced to use our reserve water when power was damaged last night. If power / water facility was damaged and we didn't have water reserves, we would end up dehydrated tomorrow (other than the spawn). I'm afraid to be safe we ought to run a mission today.

I also think we need to shift focus on research and try to accomplish the middle task, which would let us better deal with needed repairs and conversion, and, as Julio pointed out, let us reassign engineers to more pressing tasks.

We may even want to consider training a scientist to get the research done more quickly (not sure we can spare personnel in another area though) and we need to make sure the lab is protected this evening.

hrmmmmmm. crappy night. Saldana, you want me to scan instead of you? and who are you intending?

We really need the water situation to make sure its fixed, or we all die. exhausted and dehydrated, probably not a good sign.

Any advice on what i can do? i got only the 1 AP lol, and if i cant scan, i guess i could help someone with something, but my actions are limited. Group line dancing for morale? lol

if we can get the medium research done today and tonight, then tomorrow we can focus on repairs and getting back on track. As it is now, I think to waste time on repairs when we could possibly kill off some of the threat is a bad idea. I feel like we're at a tipping point where if we don't have a great day today, the spawn will all but have us finished.

I have not received a PM from BK, outside of the one this morning alerting me that Crimson + I worked together before the crew quarters were trashed.

Would have expected one from BK on Saldana's scan. I know I'll come back clean, but based on what I read in-thread earlier I would have thought to see something.

In a meeting for the remainder of the afternoon, will post later including any jobs that I need to work in order to try and help clean up this mess. I'm hoping that others can build a consensus on how I might best help.

Well, if there is a way to enable the second doctor to also do an examination, I think it would be good. It has to be a good one though.

As a reminder, here's how I work:


Trainer (1 AP per cycle)
The Trainer performs work in the Scientist Labs

Train Day Only The Trainer may choose a member of the Enlisted Crew to train, to become a Specialist or untrain a specialist to become an Enlisted Crew member. The player will assume the role at the start of the next Day cycle. 1 AP


I can only make a specialist an enlisted crew or vice versa, but I can;t move someone from one specialist or to another or one enlisted to another

Specialist:

Doctor, Engineer, Scientist

Enlisted:

All of the various security roles

Oh, and I'm a specialist as well, so I could move myself to security, but doing so removes our Trainer. I believe I can do that, I asked BK earlier and didn;t get an answer, but it seems in the rule.s

- LSG should take 4 slaves out on a water run (per JAG)
- an officer should order Schmidty to do medium-level research (per consensus
- Hoops and DV should repair the power facilities (per me, but there's nothing better than that for them to do)
