Without knowing from other games, I'm guessing that one of the hard parts about this game is the amount of players.. what's the usual good guy/bad guy ratio?

I'm going to be away from my computer most of the day and evening Swedish time, but I'm pretty sure I won't be killed tonight. Wasting an assassination on me would be useless since I'm the top candidate for a lynching.
I'm still shocked I wasn't lynched yesterday.. I should have voted for Ardent and have all this over and done with. Just promise me this, if the playing field is still open after I'm dead (i.e. the ratio is not 1:1 yet), vote for Ardent. Knowing that I'm innocent would at least make it obvious that he's a deatheater.. like I said yesterday, he's been overdoing his accusations lately. Had he stopped at "..and this is my evidence" and just made that long post, he would have been a sure bet in my eyes as a wizard. But the way he's been playing it, he's acted way too sure lately, sort of "driving home the point".

I know that we might share different takes on how WW should be played but after running several games I've always held that if you're going to play WW, you're going to have to be ready to be insulted in whatever way shape or form by anyone. There is no place for sensitivity in the game. You have to have pretty thick skin.
As long as whatever is said in the game by the dead players do not compromise the integrity of the game rules / technical stuff / roles then I don't see why it can't be said. It's Werewolf, and out-and-out ribbing and insulting is fair game. Of course whatever is said/done in WW should not go beyond the confines of the thread. My Worst. Werewolf. Players. Ever. comment was most probably accurately put... save for my very first WW game ever (when I managed to lynch about 6 fellow Villagers in dumbass fashion. Ha). If anyone ribbed or poked fun at me during that time, I wouldn't feel insulted, heck, I'd probably agree . I'm sad that you feel like I'm being a complete ass (which, in retrospect, I probably was)... but I want you to know that it's all just in the context of the game, and not how I'd feel or act outside it. When I ran my WW games, I allowed pretty much anything to be said... AS LONG as it didn't compromise the game itself. That's why I get pretty mad when in-game technicalities are blurted out by dead people in the midst of heated arguments. That's a big WW no-no. I'd like to apologize to the guys who were offended, if you feel that you're ashamed of whatever I've posted, but in no way have I compromised the game by doing any role reveals or putting in any additional information that I have acquired after my WW death. All my ribbings and side-comments are done in good fun (and frustration). That said, and in light of Saldana's request, I'll be doing the rest of my talking when this game is over. GO WIZARDS!

I took these jibes, all light hearted...thats all we have done here...i know even king who is fed up with them was not to kind to me back then...nothing more then play, but i too will step down

And i will say neons "worst players ever" comment may have been to harsh to publicly, and for that i apologize on his behalf and my own if my comments offended anyone...just a game, and i was merely playing around. If anyone took it seriously(which i know one did after posts in another thread), i apologize

Have a few minutes and naturally I can't help myself from looking in the thread.. this is fun, even though right now it's very frustrating. I was quite disheartened about my game so far until I read Neon's post about his first game which made me feel better .
As far as the jibes etc go.. I definately think that dead people should refrain from making comments about how poor the others are. However, I'm all for the ones still alive being allowed to say pretty much anything. Take this thing that Ardent is doing for example, maybe a few days ago I would have taken it another way.. but I think that Schmidty said it best in his own post when talking about his and Dubb's little argument. "That's why it seems like a desperate ploy. A rude one, but still a ploy." I'm taking every little personal insult from a live player to be an attempt to rattle me. I am not taking it to be a personal attack on anyone but my wizard (i.e. not myself)

The least is based on attempts to confuse and place votes that are not strongly supported by any reason presented in the posts. Of course there is also, what I think may be a lie by Coder.

Coder, the only reason I keep pressing is because...duh, I think I caught you and for the past two friggin days you've lived.
I think this is a huge mistake on our part. We're working without a seer and so I took the time to review all the posts. I originally started that post just looking for anything. That's why Lathum's post about the sneakoscope came up...that's why I originally held contempt for superman. I still do, but that's backburner compared to you. You think I'm pressing? You obviously don't know me very well.

Anger seems to be the only emotion left among those left in the villagers. Anger at the living for not being able to find the Death Eaters, anger at the dead for being annoying ghosts that dont shut up when told, and anger at their own selves after the knowledge that they might be letting this town slip away. Then comes the darkness, the time of the Death Eaters. They have owned the night and each night they have become more brazen. Tonight it seems they have more of the same in store for you all, as you hear laughter and cheering, but not the sounds of running, nor do you see the green glow of the Dark Mark. Cautiously, you peek out into the Town Square and see several Death Eaters (you cant be sure of the exact number, but there is more than one) throwing the still live body of RPI-Fan up into the air and then letting it crash back to the ground in a heap. This is worse than the Cruciatus torture, as RPI goes up and down a half dozen times to roars of laughter, as the Death Eaters appear to be having some kind of contest to see who can make RPI bounce the highest when they release the Levicorpus spell. Finally, with a sickening thud, RPI lands squarely on his face, pointing straight down, so that his neck skews at an unnatural angle, ending with the back of his head touching the space between his shoulder blades. Another roar of laughter, and the Death Eaters now turn and run, not even bothering to cast the Dark Mark, already assured of having everyone's attention. Obviously RPI was a Wizard, and his belongings are nothing but a large number of Daily Prophet clippings about Quidditch games and scribbled notes about which team was better than others. Perhaps if he had spent more time on finding Death Eaters and less time on Quidditch, you all think to yourselves, his broken and busted up corpse wouldnt be laying in the middle of town.
It is now Day 8, lynch votes are due by 9:30. stay tuned for an important announcement. Last edited by saldana : 01-18-2006 at 10:26 AM. |

What I think is that none of the "vocal" people are DEs. They're killing off the ones that are silent and they're letting us kill the ones that are vocal. Hence, my vote for Pass.

Heya Fellow Wizards and assorted evils! Glad to jump in to help, just let me live one day is all I ask. I have not and likely will not read the entire thread, probably sticking to the last 10 pages or so. I appreciate the apologies and I believe you and Blade are both sincere. I do feel I need to point out that you and Blade are both dead, therefore your role in the game is over, erego, being insulting and belittling accomplishes nothing except making people enjoy the game less. I think you're also missing the line between good natured ribbing over getting people killed and personally insulting people's intelligence. Anyway, my last thing to add will be that maybe if all of our important roles hadn't gotten themselves killed in the first few days, things would be a little easier right now. Something to think about for your next game. |
