Always better to get that stuff through subpoena if it's for criminal charges, otherwise, they have to rely on that hacker as a witness for every case. But that info would be great to help know what to request, for national security reasons, and for private use - I hope we get a database where employers and friends and family and neighbors can look up everyone who's affiliated with this movement and what they've said/done/threatened to do. I'm enjoying the stories of people being "revealed", losing their jobs, etc.

One thing I have learned with all the discoveries. It is best to have a good to great relationships with your ex spouse after divorce if you are going to get yourself involved in possibly illegal activity

Since the enablers won't act on their own, we need more of this.

Dow Chemical won't donate to politicians who opposed election results | TheHill

Money talks. The irony of big business who benefitted the most from the GOP tax cuts making this type of move is just a thing of beauty to see.

This is another thing that the Republicans do. Once people started comparing the attack on the Capitol with the "Night of Broken Glass", they have to appropriate it with something completely incomparable.

Right, throw enough smoke bombs in the room and people can't see that the people that are talking to them are wearing white robes (or clothes at all for that matter.)

Well, it is Forsyth county. They wouldn't allow black people to move into the county a couple of decades ago. The demographic is changing, but it it still has some of that attitude around.

Is any GOPer going to acknowledge that Parler would be in very deep legal trouble now without Section 230 protections?

Nope.

They have (smartly) managed to hijack the debate, making it seem like Section 230 hurts conservatives when, of course, it is the only reason Q can exist on social media at all.

Yup. D.C. is federal (i.e. would be covered by a pardon and involve Biden/Garland having to follow through with it).

There is a D.C. municipal code that sort of works like state law. But it is all federal at the end of the day.

And replaced him with the FEMA Administrator.

No, really the FEMA Administrator

The guy who's role is

Quote:
to reduce the loss of life and property and protect the nation from all hazards, by leading and supporting the nation in a risk-based, comprehensive emergency management system of preparedness, protection, response, recovery, and mitigation. The Administrator is responsible for preparing for, protecting against, responding to, recovering from and mitigating against the risk of a natural disaster, act of terrorism, or other man-made disaster.

Now that I think about it, they got the right guy. This is a man made disaster.

Good call.

Nobody really knows if Trump can effectively pardon himself, that will the subject of a legal battle after he's out, but it seems like the smart move here would be to resign and have Pence pardon him - if he hadn't already burned that bridge. Pence pardoning him after all this would be the most cowardly act yet, but, I still really wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

I've wondered how much of Trump's insanity was based on fear of criminal prosecution if he leaves the White House, but, he hasn't acted consistently with that goal either, so, I don't know.

Wolf's resignation makes it pretty clear that this is just a move to have a legal DHS Secretary codify all the stuff courts have said are invalid because Wolf was illegally appointed. It's just more rat fucking on the way out of the doors.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was a "point of failure" where he didn't act on someone's request or warning etc.

But then again, just as easy to believe he said "f*ck it, I'm done with this circus".

Well, this should be interesting ...

https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/11/polit...yan/index.html
Quote:
Two US Capitol Police officers were suspended and up to 15 more are under investigation for their behavior during last week's assault on the Capitol, and federal agents will look at whether current and former law enforcement officers played a role in the riot.

One of the Capitol police officers took a selfie with someone who was part of the mob that overtook the Capitol and the other wore a "Make America Great Again" hat and started directing people around the building, according to Rep. Tim Ryan, an Ohio Democrat. He didn't disclose how many other officers were under investigation but confirmed it was between 10 and 15, and didn't say what they were being scrutinized for except that it was their behavior during the riot.

I read something that it was not true that a conviction and removal would make him ineligible to run again, that there would need to be a separate vote on that issue. Maybe that's what they are talking about.

Amendment 14 Section 3:

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

So they'd have to say he was involved in an insurrection and is therefore disqualified from office.
