Yeah, I've had my console for 4 months and I just had to replace my first controller. The R2 button is hinged with a cheap plastic rod, and it broke. Not an uncommon problem based on a quick google search.

Oh, and I also have the eject-disc issue. Mounting my console vertically fixed it for about a month, then on Friday it spat out my disc mid-game and continues to attempt to eject with no disc in the drive.

PS+ is changing for the better. Guaranteed two games free per month on each platform. Given that I have all three, that's six free games a month. Awesome.

Excited to see Jack back in the saddle for E3. Should be fun to listen to him talk about everything rather than just Sony. Will provide some great insight on the industry as well.

I want a PS4 now, but I'm not sure there are still games I want for it. Sure there is inFamous, but after that? I don't play FPS so don't suggest one.

Maybe I'll just wait for Lego Batman 3.

Right now there isn't much. I was cool with getting my PS4 for MLB 14 since the money for it wasn't technically coming out of my pocket. I did pick up inFamous and FIFA since I was able to use some absurd trade credit and a price match of a TRU special to get the two games for basically $20 out of pocket, but neither of those would have sold me on a system.

Glancing at IGN's list of upcoming games, Lego Batman 3 is the next non-sports game I have any interest in (but then, E3 may have some 'out this year' announcements, too). Pier Solar has my attention, but not sure when that'll come out. Batman Arkham Knight, same. Kingdom Hearts III next year, maybe.

I'm happy with MLB 14 for now, though. RttS has me occupied.

Yeah, if I liked console baseball, I would get The Show. I can't get past the hand-eye coordination for hitting the ball tho. I have FIFA for PS3 so it's like what the point.

Heck every game that's not exclusive it's like whats the point of upgrading.

FIFA for next gen is pretty freaking great. The game plays even more "naturally" IMO. But it can be tough to justify a system at this point just based on that I'm sure...I was convinced for the longest time that I'd wait for at least one other game before upgrading.

It's pretty great. The AI and physics are (to me at least) a marked improvement over the last-gen version.

The last time I played FIFA, it was impossible to sustain any kind of offensive performance so I got frustrated and quit.

I'm not even talking about scoring, either. I'm talking about carrying the ball into the offensive zone.

It's possible IMO. I think it's easier in next-gen because your teammate AI is better.

I'm just prepping for the next gen sports games.. sucks that NCAA is done. I've only played NHL 14 on the x360 and FIFA 14 on the xb1 over the past few months though.. all my other gaming is steam games on my pc.

Did anyone else get a beta code for PlayStation Now? I received my PS4 code a few days ago (got a PS3 code earlier, but don't have a PS3), and got around to trying it out today. The service works great, but if the games that I have in the beta are an indication of what's to come when the service fully rolls out, I'll pass.

Pretty sure they already said they were limiting offerings in beta. I think they are focused on getting the library itself ready for the holiday season.

So my GF just bought a PS4. We now have both a PS4 and a XB1. I prefer the PS4 immensely, looks better, runs faster, simpler. Also prefer the controller(surprisingly), however I don't consider the XB1 controller weak, so that's not really a big deal.

The download and install times are no better though. I don't understand why Steam is literally 5x+ faster than either console.

In the end, she bought both for herself and I get to tag along. Won't be missing out on exclusives(her reason for buying), so all good.

I still don't understand why game load times are so long? Seems like it takes longer to load games on my PS4 than on my PS3.

My guess is that the higher-resolution artwork is filling more of the disc. The PS4 reads at 6x compared to 2x for PS3, but install sizes have been much larger, which suggests to me that there's more data on the disc in the first place. Installing to the hard drive is supposed to cut down on that, but if there's 3x as much of it to start with...

Interesting tactic that MS is taking with its latest series of ads to promote the new Xbox One pricing. They have someone going through various voice commands that we've seen previously. At the end of the commercial, they say Xbox One starting at $399 with 'Kinect sold separately' in small print.

Only problem? All of the functionality shown in the commercial isn't available at the $399 price point and isn't available without Kinect.

How is this even notable? Car companies and the like do this sort of thing literally ALL THE TIME.

It's not even remotely comparable and it's a battle that MS is going to have to fight the rest of this generation. They went from saying it was a key function of the system to saying it wasn't required. Now the current stance is apparently that it's cool functionality and we're going to make it the focus of our advertising, but the coolest part of our system doesn't come with the core system. Add in that most would argue that this should be the LAST thing that they should be focusing their marketing on and it's just a baffling tactic all around.

I think it sets up for a lot of interest in their E3 presentation to see what exactly they're really going to make the focus going forward. We assumed it was going to be games, games and games, but this has to make you wonder.

I actually agree here. The way Microsoft is presenting the $399 price point in the commercial is as a price cut without reduced functionality.

The only problem I had with that commercial is Titanfall starting instantly. In reality he would be waiting several minutes for the lobby to fill up, losing connection a few times, etc.

Thought DragonAge loked intresting. Thought COD looked like a weak Halo clone.

And finally a couple XB1 exclusives that look like they might be interesting to me in a new Crackdown game and something called Scalebound. Sunset Overdrive also looks fun and Ori and the Blind Forest caught my eye too.

Dragon Age looked very interesting to me. Crackdown also looked very intriguing. I also liked the demo for the next Assassin's Creed.

Working right now so was only able to follow along on a live blog, so opinions could change once I get the chance to catch some video. Game they showed that I'm most looking forward to is The Witcher 3, though that like most of the games from the first hour are ones I'll pick up on PC.

The new Dragon Age is one I'll wait until it's really cheap before I consider it after the last 3 Bioware releases.
