Ya, it's just two different crimes instead of one. The computer thing is an important separate crime because it makes the Dateline: Predator scenario criminal, where there's no actual child and/or no actual sexual contact, the communication itself is the crime. If you follow through on the communication and have some under-age party time, then you've committed another crime.

Also, I agree with Pitt > O'Donnell in a molestation scenario.

Almost like a horse. Looking back at the original pics from the earlier page, you know it's her, but none of the photos in this story are flattering, even the ones of her cheering. She's got a nice body in the bikini shots, but like you said...the face is off even there.

Her mom is the principal at a middle school that is all of 5 minutes from my house. Can't say I'm all that impressed with our new superintendent for being out of the loop on this.

FOND DU LAC - Shannon Cardinal appeared in Fond du Lac County court by video this morning. The Mayville High School teacher is facing 186 years in prison for an alleged sexual relationship with a former student.

"We're dealing with a situation that is known as consensual in fact, but not in law. And sometimes participants may not realize the significance of the conduct they are engaging in," said Fond du Lac County District Attorney Dan Kaminsky.

Investigators and school officials say none of the alleged assaults took place at the school. According to the criminal complaint, the relationship began at the school in May of 2011. The student told police he would sometimes eat lunch in Cardinal's classroom. The student told investigators he started taking Spanish classes with Cardinal as his teacher in the fall of 2011. According to the complaint, lunch-time conversations turned into friendship and text messaging which led to the alleged sexual assaults. Most of the alleged sexual assaults took place at Cardinal's home and it was a family member of the victim who first called police.

"It was first brought to the attention to the attention of investigators in Iowa and then was brought to the attention of the Fond du Lac Sheriff's Department," said Kaminsky.

The student told investigators the first incident happened December 8 of 2011. The complaint details at least six alleged sexual encounters. In court today, prosecutors also said Cardinal's two-year-old child was present at the home during one of the alleged incidents. One incident occurred when Cardinal allegedly traveled to Iowa to have sex with the student after he moved from the district.

Cardinal posted a $5,000 cash bond after court. She is due back in court again on June 1.

From Fond du Lac Sheriff's Office:

On April 25, 2012 the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office took a 43 year old female teacher from Mayville High School into custody for allegations of an inappropriate sexual relationship with a former male high school student.

On April 24th, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Mayville Police Department of an allegation of inappropriate contact of a Mayville High School staff member and former student. That staff member was immediately placed on administrative leave by the Mayville School District.

Detectives from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office are investigating this incident as it appears most of the alleged contact took place at a residence in Fond du Lac County. There is also one (1) incident that allegedly occurred in Marion, Iowa. There is no information or evidence that any of the alleged contact took place at or near the Mayville High School.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is working in conjunction with the Administrators of Mayville School District.

The Sheriff’s Office will be forwarding charges

But that story does remind me of some poor guy in high school who somehow got himself excited...in the middle of giving a presentation in front of the class. Thankfully I wasn't in that class, but I remember it being the joke of the school for quite some time.
