5.4 Roger Federer, Los Angeles Lettermen, Other, Active Quite possible the best tennis play of all time, known for his ability to cover the entire court and place laser like shots anywhere. He is mentally tough, quick, agile, has stamina for days, and was a high level youth soccer player.

Can't have people like Lebron thinking they can catch passes in the football game. If they dare do that, they're going to get hurt.

Brady was also a star high school catcher and drafted by the Expos, with his work ethic, I am sure he would have been a great baseball as well.

5.10 Peyton Manning, Football, Active - I'll take the greatest QB of all-time please, k thx.

6.1 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Basketball, Retired - One of the greatest basketball players of all time. A big man that is much more of a pure athlete than Shaq, he can translate well to some of the other sports.

Because I can't decide who else to pick, because he's still active, and to pander to the legions of voters who don't know crap about soccer but who will recognize Beckham's name and say "oh yeah good pick I've heard of him." Also, he was pretty damn good in his prime.

Updated through pick 6.4. A few notes so far...

Four teams have used all their basketball picks.
Two teams have used all baseball picks.
One team has used all football picks.
Two teams have already used 5 retired picks.
Only one coach has been picked.
Only one soccer player has been picked.

Although there are a number of active and retired soccer players who are better than Beckham I could see him being quite useful in these games. With so many athletes on the field being new to the sport they'll probably give up a lot of fouls and Beckham is a great free kick taker.

Considering I was the one, at the time, to have only picked a coach and a soccer player, I'm guessing I'm either a stinking genius or way out in left field. Probably the latter!

hard to judge how athletes who never use their hands would do in american sports.

Clarification, since a question was asked in PM. The coach does not count as part of your retired/modern lineup.

For the record, I had initially intended for the coach to count, but after looking over the rules when answering the question, I see that the logical conclusion from the way the rules were written is that the coach doesn't count.

Widely considered the greatest point guard of all time, he is one of the most unique athletes to ever play in the NBA. He could play any position on the court, and he had otherwordly vision and imagination. His versatility would translate well to many sports.

With my projected defense I am going to need a solid playmaker and goal scorer to keep up. My only concern is Shaq roughing him up so hopefully he stays as far away from him as possible.

With his quick feet I would imagine he would make a good punt returner if he can catch the ball. I suppose he could always head the football to himself. Again since his feet are so quick Id imagine he would make a nice on ball defender for hoops.

Please switch Bo Jackson to football. That's where I intended to take him and just had a little brainlock when typing the pick.

Yeah, you can set up your offense/defense however you want. (with the caveat that you must meet normal rules on the offensive side, like 5 OL)

The two time MVP has excellent vision and agility. His futbol skills are professional grade and you know he's a better football player than that jackass Jason Sehorn.

I wasn't drafting Wooden as a coach, but as a player. He's in the basketball hall of fame as a player and coach. Obviously, I have an idea for doing this, but Wooden was no slouch as an athlete so I'd like to draft him for that reason.

Sorry if I messed that up on the list I sent last night. I know wade is always anxiously awaiting my picks.

Ah okay, I just made an assumption. My bad. Thankfully, it worked out because no one else tried to take him, so you can take him with your current pick.

7.5 Carl Crawford, West Hollywood Stars, Baseball, Active. I think so highly of Crawford, that I am foregoing a second pitcher. He is possibly the most athletic player in baseball today. He turned down a football scholarship from Nebraska and was being recruited by UCLA for basketball (up for debate as to whether they had made a formal scholarship offer). He's built like a brick you know what and is fast, fast, fast.
