Heisman winners have a history of not playing well in important bowl games, right?

On this board, at least, hardly anybody ever does that. This board is overpopulated with SEC fanboys. It's all

SEC is so great
Big 10 sucks
Pac 10 sucks
Big East sucks
any 500 or better team in the SEC would win the Big 12

And stuff like that drives me crazy. You see the same thing in college basketball with the ACC. The reality is that there are a number of conferences that are equally capable of putting a team in the top bowl game each year.

Anyway, I just like to tweak the SEC fanboys, that's all.

That might have been a personal foul in the Pussy 10, but that doesn't get called on Saturday's in the SEC (or the Big 10).

fwiw, I am an SEC fanboy.. and I do honestly believe that top to bottom the SEC is the best conference (Edit: But not WAY better, just better).. however, I'm not stupid enough to not realise that the top 4-6 of the Big 10 and Pac 10 at least can run with the SEC. top 4-6..

The Big East on the other hand... ...

I'd agree with that. While Michigan and Texas were very good this season, they too were also somewhat overrated (as you can see by Michigan's bowl appearence and Texas's loss to A&M and near loss to Iowa). Other than those two teams, who else of caliber did Ohio State beat this season?

Keep in mind that I'm a big Penn State fan, and I'll be the first to admit that we were the most overrated 9-4 team in the history of college football.

It's funny that the BCS gets officials from the one conference that had the biggest gaff this year (Oklahoma vs Oregon).

And let's not forget that tOSU beat Penn State but it wasn't a blowout like the score said. Morelli threw two pick sixes at the end of the game to make the score worse. Of the 4 losses PSU had this year, that was the game I thought they could've won. By the way, Tennessee finished 9-4 so we're the 2nd most overrated team

That's been the weirdest things about this game so far...the fact that it's Pac 10 officials. You would think a championship game would merit a crew from a less controversial conference (from an officiating standpoint).

Honestly tOSU is rushing three, dropping one defensive lineman. And their linebackers are dropping 8 yards off the ball. Leak will pick them apart underneath all day.

Still, there is absolutely no reason for the PSU offense to be as bad as it was this year. Derrick Williams, Tony Hunt, that new TE (honestly can't think of his name right now), Morelli struggled horribly. Fortuntaely, he looked like he made strides during the bowl game which gives me hope for next year. But, I would definitely have Morelli on a short leash with Devlin right behind him.

You are exactly right. Quarless (the TE) is going to be a big weapon for PSU next year. Williams was really disappointing this year. I dont know if he still felt the ill effects from the injury or not this year. The thing that frustrated me the most was the play calling. They weren't running routes over the middle and because so predictable.

They are going to need a running back next year. Austin Scott is going to have to step up and finally live up to his hype. I am a big Morelli fan to be honest. I think a lot of his problems had to do with his protection and the predictability of the offense. Add to the fact that they only throw the ball outside the hashes and it makes it easy for people to defend him. But there is one thing i did notice. Before he throws the ball he pats it, giving the defensive back a sneak peak where he is throwing it.

Ding! That's exactly what I was getting at. And I do agree with you that I think Morelli got a little too much blame (such as the rumors that he was too dumb to get the offense) and it was really the play-calling that was pretty bad at spots.

I wonder if that's is because Jay Paterno got a couple of his own playcalls in.

Nice to see the long line of players waiting to hand out atta-boy's to the kicker after that FG.

Sounds about right. 51 days since OSU last played a game, which is almost 7 weeks. Since the Eagles played yesterday, and their Michigan game was on Saturday (the Eagles would have played Sun. or Mon.), that would make 8 games.
