sterlingice,

I think it's time to can Alpesh Najeeb. He cracked under the pressure. You can't let players get away with that. If you don't can him, at least make him run some extra sprints.

Pilotman not sterlingice....

Right now he is one of the best players on the team...but I do intend to show him that if he would have been in a little bit better shape he would have put that goal away in the closing minutes of the game.

His response was that the Mighty MoKan cheeleaders had 'serviced' him a little to much the night before. We talked and he has to aplologize to the team and he has to promise to keep his 'servicings' to two a night before big games. He said he could try. I follwed with the threat that he may not see any action in the next cup as the 'b' team may get all the work.

Ruskies @ MoKan Mighty Bastards

Date: 3/27/2003 at 01:00
MatchID: 5142118
Arena: MoKan Mighty Bastards Arena
Crowd:

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and MoKan Mighty Bastards Arena saw a crowd turnout of 755. Bastards had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. The following players had been chosen: Thompson - Olson, Tidwell, Tobias, Fernández Le Gal - Poindexter, Roe, Rice, Se-On, Phillips - Sa.

Ruskies had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. They fielded: Sanderson - Swenson, Sharp, Hirsch, Khaira - Kapur, Payne, Hinton, Vogt, Ingesson - Daugherty.

21 minutes into the game Jim Daugherty was a hair´s breadth away from giving Ruskies the lead. A prompt block by Jason Thompson saved the home team that time. Bastards had to manage with a reduced squad from the 24:th minute on, as Benny Phillips got sent off for a foul in a free situation. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 0. Bastards held the ball, with a clear 63 percent possession rate.

In the 54:th minute Ruskiess Mark Khaira received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Bastardss Qiu Se-On gave, after 55 minutes, the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. With 60 minutes played Neal Rice could have brought this one home for Bastards, had his hooked ball gone in, but it went just a bit too high. The referee showed Ruskiess Stuart Swenson the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. In the game's 69:th minute Bastards´s Nelson Poindexter limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. A couple of quick and successful challenges, followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area after 78 minutes might have resulted in another goal for Bastards. However, Cedric Sanderson made a spectacular save. A great save by goaltender Cedric Sanderson in the 84:th minute kept the visitors in the game as Danny Sa struck from the left with a real cannonball. Bastards will have to do without Nelson Poindexter for a time due to a bad foot injury. He was substituted by Ali Dixon. Bastards held the ball, with a clear 69 percent possession rate.

The most dominating Bastards player was without a doubt Neal Rice. Ali Dixon was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Ruskies player was without a doubt Roy Payne. Stuart Swenson on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 0.

Yeah, the Ruskies surprising run comes to an end. All the away matches caught up with us after playing 3 straight teams clearly better than us.

I would like to say thanks to everyone that participated in this cup, it was really fun to be a part of, and with FOFC Cup III coming up, hopefully some home matches can carry us at least close to this level of achievment.

And finally, congrats to meanstrosity, you clearly outplayed us, and you are very deserving.

Thanks Herd. That was a hell of an effort. I don't know that my squad could have played that well on the road like you guys did.

And again, thanks to the entire FOFC community for organizing and allowing me to participate in this. It's always fun and more interesting than league matches, lol.

Now it's onto FOFC Cup v 3.0. So many great clubs...and too many damn players to injure, lol.

Congratulations all around on a great cup, especially to the Mighty Bastards. Good show all around.

The Screamin' Seamen are already looking forward to FOFC Cup III (although it is a couple of months off, most likely).
