Very nice punt return by Tim Dwight.

there's my D! hella runback by Tim Dwight on that punt too, although I'd be willing to bet he might get scolded for catching it inside the 10...

I doubt it. If you have a good kick returner, you have to trust his judgement.

Nice throw... is that the first throw they've tried this drive or what?

Seriously. DB snoozes for one play and 70+ yard touchdown.

Man, I got to this thread late. The Raiders have the deepest set of corners in the game? Yikes.

Not saying the Raiders don't have a chance, but I am saying their DB's suck horribly and their LB's suck worse.

Some thoughts of the game so far:

Madden - "they take six out and they bring six more in" Thanks for the news flash John.

The Patriots defense looked horrible the first drive. They recovered for a few drives and then looked horrific on that long ass. Nice angles there guys.

I'd still say it's likely Branch has more yards than Moss by the time this game is done.

The Patriots will likely find a way to pull it out. They are like a horror movie villan. When you think they are dead, they pop up at the end of the movie and kill someone.

Dillon looks horrible. The O-Line hasn't blocked great for him, but even with that, he doesn't look good. Not fluid at all. The last run was a perfect example, he had yardage to make there and was tackled easily by a DB. Not good.

bah. so he burned them once. I'll live with that, as long as it doesn't cost them the game and it doesn't happen again. I mean really, all you can hope to do is contain Moss.

too bad they have no secondary. Brady is SHREDDING them.

and how come we all go gaga over Moss' long catch, but no one is gaga over the fact that Brady has just been spot-on on this drive?

And Brady is still throwing at will on them. What the hell happens when the Pats start to run and can use play action effectively? Good lord, those DB's aren't even close on most of these passes.

You aren't a homer, are you?

Because Moss' catch was more impressive.

Maybe because it's impressive that Moss can torch the Pats defense and a solid junior high team could light up the Raiers.

No typo. They have no D.

which is why i could care less if Moss gets his hundred yards and his TD (or two). After that he'll go into his little shell and stop caring about the game, and Brady and Dillon will keep shredding the Raiders. Cuz no Pats player is going to quit on the game. Which is why I'd rather have ANY Pats receiver over Moss on my ideal football team. I'd rather have a guy who works works works and doesn't quit then a primadonna who is self-centered and quits on his team.

BTW, I see things I don't like so far, but maybe I'm being nitpicky.

Hearing Michaels and Madden talk about what looked like Dillon sulking..

Uh oh...

Pats long D.. UH OH..

(The hallmark of the Pats D the last few years was that you had to dink and dunk them, that you couldn't get it all at once)

yeah but Fozz it's Randy Moss. I don't think you can expect to stop Moss. I'll want to see another week or two before I panic about their long-D.

Dillon really looks bad to me tonight. I know it's early and I know he's only had a few carries, but I don't like the way he looks at all. He looks stiff. He's not breaking tackles and DB's are dropping him with ease. too early to be deeply concerned, but it's something I'll be watching the rest of the night.

You really bet the under I take it?

Well, no better time than week one to learn a great lesson. Never, ever, ever, bet the under against a team with as bad of a defense as the Raiders. Especially if the opposing teams QB has a pulse.

OK, Pats going into the two minute drill. This is like one of those name that tune things. I think the Patriots will score a TD in SEVEN plays.

that looks like a catch too. hand under the ball as the hand hits the ground, ball stays still in his hands. that's a catch fuckers.

still time for an INT return for a TD. Still could be 24-14 the half...

NEW PLAN: HOW BOUT THE BACK JUDGE (or whatever official that is) GETS THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY so Jordan can be stopped short of a 1st down? GRRR

FWIW, I'd have voted no catch. The ball was moving, I don't think he ever had it before he hit the ground. Oh well.

End of the half. 17-14 Pats.

Anyone's game at this point, but the Pats have been far more consistent on offense.

If Raiders can clean up the middle pass defense in the 2nd half. The Raiders will win it.

The thing is.. the Pats have been doing it without Dillon.. if they adjust to the passes over the middle, will that open the out routes, or worse, allow Dillon running room?
