I believe the last one is Rad Racer?
EDIT : Reminder - (I'm not gonna give the answer to this unless this page goes 10+ pages and no one still has it). Last edited by MJ4H : 06-02-2005 at 08:20 PM. |

Correct, number 5 is Rad Racer by Square Soft, at the time they almost went belly-up, thus when they created "Final Fantasy" it really was...if the FF game didn't sell, they would be gone... /tk

Weird. They show up in Firefox but not IE. Get a real browser, you putzes. That said, I was just using GIS to link stuff up so some may not have gotten through to everyone. Normally, I'd assume it was one of those instances where I could see them since they were cached but no one else could. However, since some people were actually seeing the images then I suspect it's browser issues. Sir Fozzie got the baseball ones correct: Bases Loaded, RBI, Nintendo Baseball. He also got the other racing game (Roadblasters). The games that some of you on the inferior browsers missed were Shadowgate, Lakers vs Celtics, and Marble Madness. SI

Battletoads is the first of tk's. I'll see if I can figure out the others after I've gotten out of the shower. (I was going to use Rad Racer but opted for Roadblasters instead)

The second GBA of tk's (#4) is Final Fantasy Adventure (you can tell by the character's hair that it's from the FF series)
Number 8 looks like something from the Phantasy Star series SI

I took a page out of tk's book and registered at photobucket to make sure these went through. I think I may start a thread and do a couple daily or every other day or something.
Possibly my sister's favorite game growing up This one kindof cheats since it's not the main game mode There's rumblings of a Nintendo Revolution version There were at least 3 games in this series for the NES platform alone Sometimes hair-pullingly annoying puzzle game. There were a lot of these, too Fairly popular adventure/rpg This one is such a gimmie I even hesitate to include it. That the screenie has Star Wars names just makes it so much dorkier... SI

Yeah- I'd love to see them revive that on the Revolution. I picked 7 that were "fairly" popular but not too easy, I hope (except the last one and that was more a scolding "this series wasn't always about pretty pictures" reminder to people ) All are NES, btw SI

It was the original Final Fantasy. Aside from some gameplay tedium (@#%@#$@#%#@% elf cave), this was back when the series didn't have angsty anti-heroes and whiny useless villains and stupid plots, relying on shiny graphics and silly minigames to boost popularity... but I digress. (4 of 7 now) SI

I remember playing it a lot in my first year of undergrad. The computers in the lab in the dorm were 486 SX 25's, which played at about the right speed when the army fighting wasn't too big but could get a little too slow otherwise. One of the guys got his hero up to level 36, if I remember right. I think the guy was enough of a beast to win battles singlehandedly.

Yep, that's the one. Heh, I got up to a lvl 36 Druid at one time. Always liked the Druids because there attack was them throwing a row of magic acorns that exploded. You just can't beat that. Blast doing sieges and stuff. Good times. There was another D&D strategy game I played quite a bit back then also but can't for the life of me think of the name now. You basically picked buildings and such, and units would be made. I want to say you had little to no control over what they actually did, but they'd fight off invaders, etc.. This is probably the worst description of a game ever, so I'll stop. |

If it's a NES game from the late 80s early 90s, I'm all about it
