He could move into the starting lineup because Reggie Williams was horrible last year.

I was hoping the Eagles would take Matt Jones. I think he is going to be a very good player.

I was expecting the Raiders to take Rogers with that pick... the trade-up made sense then.

Well, Green Bay does have 2 second round picks and there wasn't much value here on the defensive need areas (OLB, S, DE). I'm not thrilled about Rodgers, but we'll see what they do with their second rounders. At a minimum, it's great value.

Disagree greatly here.

Clayton is a small, quick WR who relies on accurate, pinpoint passes so he can do what he does best. . . run after the catch. So what he needs to be his best, Kyle Boller does worst. I think Clayton will have a decent NFL carreer, nothing more.

Jones is bigger (MUCH bigger), faster, stronger and has more overall skills. Jax deserves props for making the right pick here. At the end of the day, I think people are going to regret not picking Jones higher than 21. He's going to be a terrific WR in this league.

As an FYI, why did Oakland trade up three spots? Seattle wants a WR, GB has about 100 young corners and didn't target Washington and the Skins grabbed the CB from Auburn at 9. You would think that he would have been there three picks later.

Fear that someone else would trade up.

Yeah, it really was obnoxious as hell. Like he had money riding on him going to GB.

I was finding it a little hard not to root for Rodgers myself. I think it's perfect situation; come in and sit a year or two behind Brett, get used to the cold...

EEEYIKES.

And I get what you're saying about Berman being annoying, but I don't think he was always this way. Or maybe his schtick wasn't so worn out then

Anyways, I think it's a great pick for GB. The guy has a compact motion and was really really good in the Pac-10 this year. Throws accurate and hard. I wonder if the knock on him is that he's a guy who was a product of Tedford's amazing system (Dilfer, Carr, Akili Smith, Harrington, Boller)?

I wonder if Smith would've fallen this far as well if Rodgers went #1?

Not likely as I think Tampa Bay really liked him.

I think it's a good pick if he can handle the weather up in GreenBay. Again, I'm worried about any California boy playing up there in the winter.

I don't think Smith would've fallen this far. I think some teams would've traded up to get him. Or Tampa at 5.

Its ok. For the first few years he'll be able to wear a big winter coat on the sidelines.

It will definitely be interesting to see how it goes, but keep in mind that he played at an Idaho JC, and it gets pretty cold there, no?

I'm guessing the Steelers will look at TE Heath Miller now and, if he is gone, maybe CB Marlin Jackson (who is from the area).

So, those two should be the next two picked by the Chargers and Colts.
