And done!
Mission 81 None Mission 82 Naiwf: Bronze Star of Terra Naiwf placed a perfect Blaster Launcher shot right in the middle of the alien ambush on a terror mission in Nairobi. The shot killed three aliens and gave our men a fighting chance to exit the Skyranger. Jfbbis: Bronze Star of Terra Jfbbis killed two aliens with brutal efficiency in the early stages of the Nairobi Terror Mission. His crack shooting took apart the aliens’ right flank and turned the battle on our favor. Mission 83 None Mission 84 Wolfpack: Bronze Star of Terra Wolfpack killed two aliens in close combat and led a charge into the UFO. Mission 85 Alf III: Yellow Pin of Cowardice Mr. Bug IV: Yellow Pin of Cowardice Both of these agents panicked in combat, jeopardizing our mission. Mission 86 Breeze: Silver Star of Terra Breeze killed five aliens with a Blaster Launcher over the course of an engagement with a Sectoid terror ship. His shooting likely saved the mission. The Time: Silver Star of Terra The Time killed three aliens in close combat over the course of a ferocious firefight at an alien terror ship. His clutch performance helped turn the battle in our favor. Naiwf: Bronze Star of Terra Naiwf, despite having only one working eye, charged into the UFO and killed the final alien from close range. Naiwf: Bronze Badge of Kahunas Naiwf lost an eye to a gruesome wound but continued to fight. Coffee Warlord II: Gold Angel Wings In the face of an onrushing CyberDisc, Coffee rushed to Sachmo III, applied first aid, and dragged the body back to cover. His actions were of the highest bravery, and directly saved Sachmo III’s life. Kodos: Bronze Angel Wings While Coffee got Sachmo III under cover, Kodos took out the advancing CyberDisc. Without his crack shooting, both men would likely have died. Japherwaki II: Purple Heart Sachmo III: Purple Heart Naiwf: Purple Heart Mission 87 Fonzie II: Silver Star of Terra Fonzie killed four aliens, led a rush into the enemy UFO, and single-handedly saved what was looking like our first aborted mission. Condors II: Bronze Star of Terra Condors killed two aliens and made a key rush into the UFO when we were down to only four able men left on the mission. Calis: Bronze Angel Wings Calis distracted then killed an alien that had Danny Van Halen dead to rights. Travis III: Yellow Pin of Cowardice Travis went under alien control, killed Rich, and blew our tank apart. X-COM agents were forced to kill him. Danny Van Halen: Yellow Pin of Cowardice Danny cracked under combat stress, putting our mission in jeopardy. Split Personality III: Yellow Pin of Cowardice Split, um, split from Fonzie II’s side at the UFO exit. Were it not for uncommon valor on Fonzie II’s part, we could have easily lost this mission. Fonzie II: Japherwaki II Rectal Horseshoe Fonzie II took two direct hits to the chest and was lined up to be killed when inexplicably the alien retreated back into the UFO. Mission 88 None |

Now that we're all caught up with medals, let's get right back into action!
Update October 31 Less than 36 hours after we knock out three UFOs in a bloody day of fighting, the European night sky is alight with more UFOs. A small UFO touches down in Northern Africa. A medium-size Muton UFO lands near the British alien base. A large battleship dances over the continent. We launch the ASIA COM Skyranger for the African UFO, and the EU COM Skyranger for the Muton UFO that has landed in Britain. We're racing the dark with the ASIA COM Skyranger, and it becomes apparent that we’re not going to make it. With Superman on route to knock down the UFO as soon as it takes off, we send the ASIA COM Skyranger back home. However, the EU COM Skyranger will have plenty of light, and makes it to its target in plenty of time. In we go again… On board: Kodos, Wolfpack, Swaggs, Vince, ShaefIlllini, Real Deal III, Tucker II, The Time, Revrew, and Chuck U Farley. This mission will most likely go up on Saturday, maybe earlier if we get lucky. Last edited by Godzilla Blitz : 03-11-2004 at 01:17 PM. |

ardent, tucker, kingfc: Believe me, I got tired of doing the awards, too. The first dozen or so were fun, but doing 60 missions worth at one shot got tedious after a while. Each mission took from 5-20 minutes to do, so it was pretty slow going. But they needed to be done. And now that we're caught up, we won't have to delay for them any more. It's all good.
Travis: Yeah, Travis III was not a shining star in the Travis family line. Let's hope IV will be better. Vince: You're in the Skyranger now, en route to battle. AStott: Yup, your star keeps getting brighter. Regarding Kodos falling through the floor: In his defense, it was pretty smoky in there. Sachmo: Yeah, in reading over the old missions, there were a handful of agents that had great stats, great mission results, and lots of potential. Sachmo II was definitely one that I hated to see die. Raven Hawk and Shorty were two others that fit in that category. Never cracked, always came through in the clutch, and hit everything in sight. Tough losses. Fortunately, someone has always stepped up to fill empty shoes. Sterling: Actually, I know exactly who I got sick from, and I can't blame Sectoids this time. Got a vicious case of strep throat that led to ear infections in both ears and dehydration. Had I known what it was I could have gotten treatment fast, but I waited three days before going to the hospital. Was pretty much down for five days. Yuck. |

Nothing for Tasan I in his death finale? I thought he at least got wounded before finally going down in a hail of cyberdisc fire.

Bummer. I've had 3 cases of strep in 6.5 years of being in the Navy. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before I get it again.-

Nice Job on the Medals GB.
The troops in Asia are getting restless. The string on my paddle ball broke, and I am starting to lose faith in my ability to hold it together. Killing aliens is the sure fire cure for cabin fever. |

Resisting urge to make "luggage combination" quote... I can think of at least one other thread on this board in the last couple months that turned into Spaceballs quotes galore.

It's bizarre having somewhat personal yet completely anonymous relationships, isn't it? In all honesty, if something bad did happen, how would anyone here find out?
Hopefully that's not the case. |
