How many times can the Patriots get to the superbowl in shady fashion?

I guess that makes Brady better than Manning too, hi team is allowed to hold 2 straight plays with no flags

Where it should be, in the refs pocket. Nothing wrong with a hit like that withing 10 yards.

Guess the refs forced Manning to through 4 ints.

After the replay, it doesn't look like he was held. If anything, I saw Pollard push off.

He was held on two straight plays. Refs need to throw the flags.

I'm willing to bet there will be at least one Colts player that rips the refs after the game, and rightfuly so. The officiating in this game was absolutely horrible.

Pollard was held a little on the first play that really didn't matter. The second play he was not held.

If it were within 5 yards, I'd let it go, but still.

I don't disagree that NE should have won this game...I'm not sure at all how Indy was still in the game. I'm just saying that's a crappy way for the game to end.

A little being that the guy grab his jersey for about a half a second long before the ball was in the air. It was a little. It didn't effect the play.

Sab, while the question of whether or not there was a hold is up in the air, it's tough to call any of these plays ones that 'really didn't matter.'

PS - Are you kidding? They get another shot.

Tough to say that he needs ref help...in my opinion, they outplayed the Colts all day.

If karma had any say in the NFL then this would be ruled a fumble. Unfortunately it looks like the Pats are going to catch yet another break. Oh well. Pats are a great team and I'll enjoy watching them in the Super Bowl.

Well, i'm glad we may win this game. Its obvious everyone was rooting for the Colts.

This is almost as satisfying as beating the steelers 2 years ago(not quite though).

I have never seen so many holding calls go uncalled in a game before. Absolutely incredible. That entire officiating crew needs to be fired on the spot.

Im not rooting for anyone but I hate to see the refs and reviews ruin the game. I lost interest in the NFL when the replay was brought in.

4 interceptions, a defense that let the patriots freely into the red zone every possesion, and the ref's ruined the game?

Anyway, i'm probably the only Patriots fan in existence that hates instant replay .

I didn't see the play on the first hold, but I saw the 2nd one. McGinest, or whoever it was, HELD POLLARD'S ARM. Pollard couldn't catch the ball JUST OUT OF HIS REACH. That's what I call HOLDING.

sabotai, I agree that not every bump should be a hold. But that last play the patriot defender reached out and held pollard's hand. That is defensive holding.

He was holding his arm, yet Pollard was somehow able to push off of him with it?

Those may have been the worst two back to back calls I've ever seen in such a big game.

If that was any indication as to what was going on with Pollard and the slot receivers all day, it's no wonder the Patriots shut Manning down and there was never anywhere to throw the ball.

For the record: The rule is NO contact after 5 yards. Certainly not one guy gets to hit him for 5 yards, then the next guy needs to hit him for 5 yards.

---------------------------------------------------

Now, having said all of that, the right team won the game. I think the Patriots outplayed the Colts for much of the day and I think the coaching of the Colts was horrible all day. What the hell kind of an onside kick was that? What in the hell are you doing rushing THREE guys on Tom Brady a lot of the day? You think you are going to confuse him? Christ, mix up your defenses, but don't be stupid.

All I have to say is that I'd better NEVER hear about another Boston fan complain about the Yankees getting all of the breaks and close calls. The Patriots two Super Bowl runs have been full of them. That doesn't take away from the fact they are a great football team, but only a die hard blinded by the silver helmut Patriot fan could see they haven't caught more breaks than a dog hit by a semi in their last two playoff runs.

Back to the bowl baby.

I leave all the haters to argue over excuses. Deja Vu all over again.

TroyF, the main difference his the Patriots take advantage of all their breaks. Same with turnovers. Thats what people seem to miss. A lot of teams get brakes, do nothing with them, and are forgotten about.

That's one thing I wasn't sure on. Both routes looked short and I wasn't totally sure if they were within 5 yards of the LOS. BUT, that's not holding. You want to scream up and down that it was illegal contact, they I won't say you're wrong because I don't know for sure. But I did not see anying holding on either play.
