You're a safe bet, I'm 40th in points. My rookie year isn't going too well. I'm down on the apron at Lowes and get rear ended! I could've finished at least 30th. Oh well, there's always next year.

Michigan Predicitons
Here's the picks for the Sirius Satelite Radio 400 from our esteemed panel of racing experts.
- MICHAEL PERSINGER - CHARLOTTE OBSERVER Rewbie Newsday - Newsday's currently 6th in the points but has not had a breakout race yet. Expect him to run well today. - LISA NAPOLI - THATSRACIN.COM Shane Kormelink - Kormelink is another driver that has quietly had a great season. Currently he's in 9th in the points. Today's the day Kormelink finds victory lane. - DAVID POOLE - CHARLOTTE OBSERVER Sonny Daze - At times Sonny runs with the leaders and looks good. At other times he runs near the back and looks horrible. Expect today to one of the good days. - RUPEN FOFARIA - RPM.ESPN.COM Telle Snow - Telle has been running great lately. Can she continue the dominance? - GEORGE W. BUSH - PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES Jobu Mack - I thought about picking Buttercup again but I felt like it wasn't worth it. I'm going with Jobu Mack this week. |

Sirius Satelite Radio 400 Results
Telle Snow dominated the Michigan weekend. Fastest in 1st practice, fastest qualifier, fastest in final practice. And she completely dominated the Sirius Satelite Radio 400. That was until the final 3 laps, when the Rupen curse struck. Since there was no cautions throughout the day the cars fuel milelage would be tested. And Telle couldn't quite make it 50 laps on fuel like most everyone else. So with only 3 laps remaining Telle needed to make a pitstop and despite leading 181 of 200 laps, she finished in 23rd. But Telle clearly has had the circuit's dominate car the past three races and is running better then anyone.
Travis Elkin was running second behind Telle much of the day and took the lead and the win when Telle had to pit. Nick Phillips was 2nd, Chris Snow 3rd, Kai Collins 4th and Rewbie Newsday 5th. code: |

Tokunaga continues to lead. Chris Snow is 2nd, Nick Phillips 3rd, Bobby Mask 4th and Rewbie Newsday is 5th.
Telle Snow is in 8th place with 3 wins. But she should easily have 5 wins. The top rookie is Rewbie Bluesday in 11th. code: |

New Hampshire Predictions
Here's the picks for the Sylvania 300 from our esteemed panel of racing experts.
- MICHAEL PERSINGER - CHARLOTTE OBSERVER Rewbie Bluesday - Newsday's teammate is currently 11th in points. Today should be his breakout race. - LISA NAPOLI - THATSRACIN.COM Telle Snow - How can you not pick Telle at this point? She should have 3 straight wins. Season 7's champ is on a level by herself right now. - DAVID POOLE - CHARLOTTE OBSERVER Mustafa Henderson - Mustafa's back up to 12th in the points after a horrible start. Look for him to find victory lane today. - RUPEN FOFARIA - RPM.ESPN.COM Ren Snow - And you thought the curse wasn't real? Did you see what happened to Telle last week? But I'm not wishing harm upon anyone. Ren Snow is my pick today. - GEORGE W. BUSH - PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES Nick Phillips - Phillips will shine today and take the victory. Team Shuts Down
Fireball Kobeck and the #28 Motorcraft car have shut down operations. They cited poor performance and lack of funding as a reason for the shutdown. Kobeck was currently in 40th in points. No word on Kobeck's future or what team will come in to replace them.

Sylvania 300 Results
15 cars including Mike Tokunaga, Chris Snow, Bobby Mask, Jeeber D Mack, Telle Snow, Rewbie Newsday and Rob Zalez were unable to survive the New Hampshire crashfest. One of the biggest wrecks every seen in the FOFC Winston Cup series occured on lap 129. Over half the field was involved in the wreck in someway. Telle Snow and Chris Snow, who had dominated the race up until that point, were both victim of the wreck.
Only a few drivers were able to survive the mayhem. Mustafa Henderson, Taco Money, Travis Elkin, and Sonny Daze were the only drivers to finish on the lead lap. Mustafa took advantage of all the wrecks to lead 111 laps and take the win. code: |

Well, would you look at that, back to back top 3 finishes.
Too bad it's too late to mean anything, though at least this should get me into the top 20. I'm beginning to think only 1 Canadian driver is allowed to do well each race though, seems either Tokunaga or myself do well while the other crashes out. Is there any way just to take whichever one of us does better and use those numbers

Talladega Predictions
Here's the picks for the Aaron's 499 from our esteemed panel of racing experts.
- MICHAEL PERSINGER - CHARLOTTE OBSERVER Chris Snow - The Aaron's 499 will be the second biggest race of the season behind the Daytona 500. Racing under the lights at Talladega for the first time should make it one of the biggest races in series history, and who better to win it then the best driver in series history. - LISA NAPOLI - THATSRACIN.COM Andre Mask - Andre will be sporting a special paint scheme under the lights and will have a new result, a victory. - DAVID POOLE - CHARLOTTE OBSERVER Taco Money - Taco remembered what it feels like to have a good race by finishing 2nd at New Hampshire. Look for him to one-up that performance at Talladega. - RUPEN FOFARIA - RPM.ESPN.COM Nick Phillips - Nick is the new points leader and is looking to expand on the lead. Also, look for another special paint scheme for Phillips at Talladega. - GEORGE W. BUSH - PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES Travis Elkin - Travis will pick up win #2 on the season under the lights at Talladega. |

Talladega, AL - Hundreds of thousands of fans will flock to Talladega, Alabama tomorrow for the running of the Aaron's 499, the first time a race at Talladega will be run under the lights. Other drivers still have time to get their special paint scheme's before tomorrow's big race. The expert's have already weighed in on their thoughts in the race tomorrow. Michael Persigner of the Charlotte Observer has picked Chris Snow for the race. Lisa Napoli of Thatsracin.com has chosen Andre Mask as the winner. David Poole of the Charlotte Observer picked Taco Money. Rupen Fofaria, who drivers dread to have pick them to win, has picked series points leader Nick Phillips. And the President of the United States, George W. Bush, has picked Travis Elkin to win the race. In last season's race at Talladega, the EA Sports 500, Shane Kormelink took the checkered. Kai Collins led the most laps and finished second. And only one driver, Mustafa Henderson, failed to finish the race. Bobby Mask, who's currently in 4th in the Winston Cup Championship race, voiced his opinion of tomorrow's race. "It's gonna be a free-for-all. Anybody can move up to the front and lead the race, but unlike Daytona, if you have a good car you will be able to stick up front. At Daytona I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time. Here you can't get that lucky. He need to have a great car to stick up front." Two darkhorse picks for tomorrow's race are Vince Morgan and Sonny Daze. Two seasons ago in his last Talladega race Morgan came in 2nd. Daze has finished 3rd and 9th in his last two Talladega races. Last edited by cmp : 07-29-2003 at 12:19 AM. |

BREAKING NEWS!
Talladega, AL - Major news coming out of Talladega this morning. Mello Yello has terminated it's contract with Nick Phillips and the #51 team. Mello Yello officials listed the reason for the spilt because of contractual disputes. Apparently Phillips Racing felt that they were being shorted in the amount of money they were receiving. But Mello Yello officials were unwilling to give the team any more money and decided to end the relationship. The #51 team had been receiving $10 million a year under their current contract. Other top drivers like Chris Snow and Rewbie Newsday have been receiving $15 million a year.
Shortly after word of the spilt had broke Lycos stepped right in to offer Phillips Racing a contract for the remainder of the season. The #51 car will be sponsored by Lycos for the season's remaining 12 races. Goodyear will no longer be sponsoring the #51 car at Talladega. The deal for them to sponsor the car was through Mello Yello, not through the #51 team. Last edited by cmp : 07-29-2003 at 10:31 AM. |

Aaron's 499 Results
Looking at how many lead changes they were today, 124, you would have thought it was a crazy race that anyone could lead. But those 124 lead changes took place between only 16 drivers. The racing was great as the top drivers changed the lead every lap but the best cars were able to stay up front. Sonny Daze led the most laps with 36 but finished in 6th. Vince Morgan, in only his second race back to the series, took the lead with only 5 laps remaining. And he stayed there until the checkered holding off a fierce challenge from Kool Breeze and Jeeber D Mack.
Series points leader Nick Phillips padded his lead with his 9th top ten in 14 races. Chris Snow was 12th and Mike Tokunaga finished 34th a lap down after being involved in a 2nd lap crash. The top rookie in today's race was Rob Nielsen who finished 9th. code: Pictures Will Be Up Later. |
