Yeah, the only thing I would have done differently, is move the cage away from the Wardancer so he'd have to roll a dodge or a leap to get into blitz range.

This was where I was a little confused. Obviously I don't want 2 guys with lowered stats on my team for the long run. Would I be better off cutting them? Would they be replaced by loaners as well? It seems like a loaner might be more useful, especially if it lowers my Team Value, but not sure how it works. I can't afford a replacement yet. |

If you cut your players, your team value will be lowered a bit. For every 10 points of team value you are below your opponent, you get 1,000 gold in inducements. If your TV is 720 and your opponents is 1120, you get 400,000 gold in inducements, enough to hire 3 mercenaries who will play one game, at least.

Ok, there's some confusion here.
Players who are injured don't count towards TV, or towards seeing if you get free players for the next game. You never want to hire a lineman mercenary.. there's no need, because you will get players for free to replace them (for that one game) http://www.bloodbowlonline.com/LivingRulebook5.pdf (page 29 of the book, 31 of the PDF) 7. If your team can only field 10 or less players for the next match, you may bring Journeymen onto your team for free until your team can field 11 players for the next match. A Journeyman is always a player from a 0-16 allowed position on your team's roster, counts his normal rookie cost towards your total team value, but has the Loner skill as they are unused to playing with your team. Journeymen may take the total players on your team (including injured players) to more than 16 at this point.

Cyanide doesn't implement Journeyman at all, though, so you end up with a heap of inducement gold to buy players. I think they're trying to fix this but there are some underlying issues with how the implemented the rosters... Annoying.

I could do another league. Time for me to branch out and try a different race. I'm good with Humans (in SP at least) and I like the way lizzies play, perhaps I'll try another.

Then I'm confused by the naming or something because I most definitely get loaner errr...loner lineman to bring me up to 11 before a game. I've yet to buy a player with inducement money and always end up with eleven even with injuries. Foz- so since the journeymen have loner would they actually cost me less TV than my crippled guys or does it figure that in? I guess the same question applies to their stat loss. Basically I know I'm hosed and I'm trying to set myself up for some decent inducement cash. |

Maybe they fixed it? I've never had a team not able to field 11 players. I'm speaking based on accounts I read on the Cyanide forums. It's either that journeyman weren't working or that they weren't calculated into TV properly. |

That's just not true though. In my case my value was the original 1000 but I had an injured player. My team screen worked like you said ( showed 930 ) but the league screen showed the original 1000. I did get the free player though.

Calis,
I'm available to play after 5:30 PM central tomorrow, anytime Saturday, or until about 9 PM Sunday. All times are central. I can also play Monday or Tuesday if necessary but would definitely prefer the weekend. |

Looks like we may be able to start a second league soon! Only need three more people. If you want to invite friends, family, and colleagues, feel free to. I'd like to have a larger league than 8.

Calis completely outclassed me tonight as his team beat ours 3-0. It was still fun and I think I learned a few things. Congrats on the win.

Gertbeef's Minions just finished up a game with Eaglefans Raiders.
I received a nice 100k inducement which I used to take away 1 reroll from the Raiders per half. I did not know this was an option, and it was a big deal. The Minions received the ball first and caged up and tried to slog forward for the first few turns. I managed to knock open a gap down one of the flanks and run it in for the score towards the end of the 1st half to go up 1-0. Had a surprisingly injury-free first half for two bashing teams. I think the first knockout happened in turn 8. 2nd half I started to get the lucky rolls. The Raiders caged up and I was able to break in with one of my warriors and really envelope the cage. The Chaos Warriors strength advantage coupled with a doseage of Beastman Horns blitz every turn was the difference here and we were able to knock the ball loose and turn it into a score. Raiders had some terrible luck with rolls in the 2nd half and the Minions made a couple semi-crazy ones. The Minions were able to take advantage of a couple failed Blocks by the Raiders after the kickoff to steal the ball deep and score on the final turn of the game to end it 3-0. Good game Eaglesfan27. It was a very close first half, and I thought we were in for a draw to be honest, but some things fell my way in the 2nd half to give me the win. |

I think I'll start the second league two weeks from today. I'm going to be on vacation away from the internet next week. I'll PM the people who have signed up and get things started then. We'll start the league with whoever has signed up at that point.

I'm either going humans or orcs. I like humans because I don't have to play every game basically the same way. I would play chaos, but I don't want to duplicate races if I don't have to. I like bashy teams, but it's nice having the relative offensive firepower of the humans.

Creamed from start to finish - lost 3 players in the first two turns and things never let up from that moment on, even when I finally got your ball bearer surrounded in the second half you turned around and literally KILLED one of my blitzers in what looked an even fight ...
Great match, well won by you ... |

Does anyone know how to change the color of your logo or the logo itself? Last edited by aran : 07-14-2009 at 06:36 PM. |

You do it during the team creation, by clicking on the arrows around the logo, or the color itself to change the color

Unfortunately, that's because RendeR has apparently fallen foul of the mods, and is currently bizz-anned.

I do not know, but I think it has to do with the current modfest over MJ4H's poker dynasty and the fallout. (I'd say what I thought of the current activities, but I'd probably be the next to go)

Wow, banned rather than boxed, must have been something really bad? Or does Render have a history of boxings and this was the final straw?

There was a thread briefly up that basically thumbed a nose at SkyDog in a pretty offensive way. That's pretty much a guaranteed ban.
