KU getting lots of stupid penalties today to keep a drive alive for Iowa State and they score, making it 21-7.

Vols score again, down 24-22, but can't convert the 2-point try.
7 mins left to play in regulation in Knoxville.

After three trips to the red zone, Miami finally scores on a 5 yard Kyle Wright TD. It's now 17-7 VT at the half.

A great PR gives UT good field position, sets up a 33 yd FG.
25-24 Vols with 2:46 left in the game.

edit to add: Very late flag, PI on UT turns an impending 4th down play into 1st down inside the Vols 40.

If Yahoo is to be believed, LA Monroe held on 4th and 1 with 2 minutes to go.

edit: Now 3rd & 6 at the Bama 41, gotta be down into the :30-:40 range left.
Incomplete, now 4th & 6.
Incomplete. La-Monroe ball with :34 secs left. !

Wait a minute, I thought the Greek intramural teams at an SEC school were better than Ohio State. So how is La Monroe beating Bama, a team that were it not for a late fumble would have beaten all powerful LSU?

Stick a fork in Bama. They're done.

Nice to see Nick SaTan turning Alabama around with a 6-5 record and a loss to a Sun Belt team.

Bama hasn't won a game since beating Tennessee ... although I'd say it's more a case of mentally collapsing since losing to LSU by 7. The truth is, Vols crappy defense aside, the Tide isn't really anything more than average right now (like most teams).

So-so QB, okay RB, a darned good WR. The anamoly for them was beating the hell out of UT.
The reality is that they barely beat Houston & Ole Miss, and lost to Miss. State & FSU before today.

I'd say considering LSU beating Va Tech is really the only noteworthy non-conference SEC win all season I'd say this Bama choke job is going to prompt a whole lotta SEC backlash. Oh, and those few of us still admitting to be Miami Dolphin fans finally have something to be pleased about.

And Wisconsin scores on a short field after a long PR, leads Minny 17-13 midway through the 3rd quarter.

edit to add: Looks like ND will finally get win #2, leading Duke 21-0 with 10 minutes left.

Miami back in the game against VT. On 2nd and 16, Kyle Wright runs 15 yards to the 1. Then Miami gets away with a push off for a 1 yard pass TD and its now only a 20-14 VT lead.

KU just continues to grind away. Iowa State can't do a thing on offense. Kansas up 31-7 middle of the 3rd Q.

The KU game just went final, 45-7 over Iowa State. That sets up the huge game next week in Arrowhead.

I'll be heading up to HyVee tonight to get my nice little screen print Border War t-shirt.

But it's not as if the game next week were between Nebraska and Mizzou, I'd be cheering for the Huskers. Probably because I'm a transplant and wasn't born into this rivalry.

With Hawaii (No. 16 BCS, No. 13 AP) and Boise State (No. 18 BCS, No. 17 AP) winning this weekend, they set up a showdown next week for the WAC title. With them likely moving up two spots or so in the AP, depending on how the rest of the night plays, can the winner get into a BCS game?

If Hawaii wins, I think they're in. If Boise State wins, I think its more iffy - maybe a 1/5 shot. They'd need a lot of help.

I posted earlier in this thread that I think the winner (assuming Hawaii then beats Washington) gets into the BCS. Boise will need some help, but I think you're going to see voters give the winner of that game a big push and Boise is already ahead of Hawaii in the computer polls.

Also, if West Virginia slips and the Big East champion fails to make the top 16 in the BCS ratings, then Boise could get in.

For some odd reason, I've really liked watching KU play this year - I think I've been treated to their last 4 games and I'm definitely worried about next week. We can't stop the run a McAnderson should have a big day.. but KU also has some big and lanky WR's. Shoot be a shootout for sure!

It's been a great year of football anyway you slice it for MU - KU fans.

Stop me if you've heard this one before:

A Big 12 South team is being led to a possible BCS Championship Game berth by their outstanding freshman QB. The QB goes down with an injury early in the 1st quarter of the next to last conference game, the week before their big in-state rivalry game.

Its going to happen, isn't it? The Championship game is going to be Notre Dame vs. Miami.

Man, where has this been all season? Huskies run over, around and through Cal for 334 yards, rendering Jake Locker's absence moot. Ty might just survive this season after all...
