I can't believe I am hearing people cry 'fix' about the Colts-Pats refs already. Give me a break.

Nobody's going to remember that blown no-call, but that was a huge, huge spot.

The officiating is getting tiring.

Officiating is poor, but the Pats are taking some dumb penalties.

And the refs didn't stop them from tackling Joe Addai right before the half. Nice catch by Moss.

I would saying missing Tony Ugoh is a bigger issue for the Colts then missing Harrison

Not speaking specifically to this game, but this line of reasoning is just wrong and lame platitudes for the Jim Romes of the world. Yes, the refs aren't responsible for a team not playing a perfect game but neither team plays a perfect game so it's not a fair standard. The Colts didn't sign up to play the Pats and the refs today and the Pats didn't sign up to play the Colts and the refs today. It should be even and, yes, if the refs cost a team a game, they share some of the blame.

The issue is if the refs cost the Pats the game. It doesn't appear that is the case because Addai is ripping them up! Sure they got that one pass interference call wrong, but other than that the Colts have been moving the ball pretty well and have been getting good pressure on Brady and have forced him to throw 2 INTs. The refs are not the reason the Pats are going to lose this game.

I think you missed his point. The Colts are clearly outplaying the Patriots. He was responding to the "the refs didn't X" line, independent of this game.

I don't care who wins but it's about time, Brady. My fantasy team is addicted to your 40ppg and you're only up to 13. It's time to get back on track.

It's funny that Moss was finally called for offensive pass interference, and it was on a play where I don't think he even commited the penalty.

As a sidebar, I bet I could change the outcome of at least 50% of all NFL games if you gave me just 3 plays I could call penalties on for the sole purpose of bending the game to my will. Little innocuous stuff like a pass interference or holding that could be called on most plays.

Whoops, there goes your big game changing fifty yard TD run because we called holding on some random player away from the ball. Dang, just had made a crucial stop in the second half but we're going to call offsides or defensive holding to keep a drive alive. That sort of thing really does change the course of the game.

I don't think it's all the refs, just that guy in the left corner. I'd like to see him explain the calls on Hobbs and Moss where he points out exactly what made him throw the flags.

I think there's an even bigger impact (and a much more subtle one), when you're talking about non-calls.

Pats have a 3rd and 20, and Faulk is clearly interfered with. We'll never know what would have happened - maybe they score a TD, maybe they throw the next pass for a interception going for a TD the other way.

Do fans really have to be "smart" to know to be more quiet when their team has the ball (in a dome)?

I went to the Bills/Bengals game and honestly, TV makes everyone look a LOT better than they are. The Bengals defense is the slowest ugliest thing under creation.

I've been under the assumption that they just vcan't get a scheme that works, but with these guys, hell...the UNIVERSITY of Buffalo could beat them.

Agreed. This "shortening the game" crap they were doing in the 1st half is the only reason the Pats are still in this thing.
