Here's Huckleberry, he's 1-for-2 against duckman today...and he slaps a weak grounder to short...up with ball is tucker rocky, who throws across and gets him easily for the third out.

Wow, runs are going to be extra precious today, folks! We head into the 7th...

Old school pitcher's duel. Back when team ERA's of 3.79 were worst in the league instead of leading the league...

Yeah, I kindof like the 80's stats. It reminds me more of baseball when I was growing up, following the Cubs on WGN. Plus, with no DH, it's a much more NL style of game. I'm really enjoying this. Then again, most days I'd rather see a 2-1 pitchers duel than a 14-12 slugfest (of course some variety is good, tho).

Glad to hear you guys say that. I was afraid the natives might be getting restless with the lack of offense.

Anyway, here come the Hattrickers with the heart of their order in the 7th. Ardent Enthusiast leads off...he pops this one up in foul ground, and it'll be Huckleberry who makes the catch...one down

Here's Coffee Warlord...let's see if this premier hitter can get something going...here's the pitch...and he lines it into the gap in right center! MrBug's tracking it but he won't get there, and into second chugs CW with a one out double!

Clutch opportunity for Masked...he works the count...and punches a single into right! Coming up with the ball is heybrad - and he's got a good arm - as CW rounds third...will the coach hold him?!?

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Tough chance to score the run, SI. Do you want to force the issue?

Oh, I suppose I haven't mentioned who will be our coaches. I'd like to introduce Doug5984 at third. I'd like to thank him for helping out today with the thread (since he was on AIM at the time, not participating in this thread previously, and a Hattricker). Here's the decision:

As CW heads towards third I wildly wave my arms motioning him to run to home, as this is probably our best chance to score today in this pitching duel.

I calmly spit some seed shells from my mouth as I know Doug made the right choice. CW's got good speed, brad's got a good arm, but albion's pitching great and this is as good a shot as we have to break through. I notice the first base coach is also sending Masked to 2nd.

Huckleberry's holding his glove high in the air, but the ump is signalling SAFE SAFE SAFE. It's 1-0 Hattrickers, but now Masked is streaking for second. Huckleberry guns the ball down...and heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee's OUT AT SECOND!

Two outs. Oh, my.

For the record, that was the closest dice roll you could get without getting thrown out at the plate. :o

Would have been nice if Masked had been on first before the homerun. But then again I doubt the Elitists even have thw ability to score two runs.

No getting cocky, that'll get us killed.

As for having Masked on first, it would have been nice, but I wanted something still going if CW had been thrown out and there were good odds that Masked made it to second- just didn't pan out. The odds were actually worse that CW would score than Masked would advance but sometimes things work out in funny ways.

You going to call the Hattrickers' bullpen collect, or use 10-10-220?

TargetPractice6 steps in for the Hattrickers, and will try to ride the momentum they've got rolling...but he hits an easy chopper to short, where Shorty makes the play to end the inning...but the Hattrickers plate two for the first runs of the game.

Bottom of the 7th...now pinch-hitting for Vince...Wolfpack, hitting .249...the pinch-hitter hits a soft fly to right...Masked is camped under it, and makes the catch for out #1...

Does this game penalize pitchers in the following days for being left in? For instance, if by keeping albionmoonlight in here, would I remove the chance he could go in Game Four?
