We added another piece to our defense, signing the sixth-best cornerback in the country in Niles, Michigan's Justin Lopez. A five-star recruit with speed (4.33).

3* DT Elgin Edwards hard commits to Georgia Tech this week. Nice, but meh, not the week I wanted in recruiting.
4* FS Eric Garcia hard commits to Florida, jumping over both Clemson and myself to steal him away. |

Penn State signs two 4* recruits this week.
HB Alfred Arrington - Arrington is the #41 overall ranked player in the country and the #4 HB. He has a great combination of size, speed, and agility. Since I already have 2 freshmen backs and two sophomore backs, I expect he will get redshirted his first year. Indiana was his #1 school until this last week when we brought him in for a visit during our game against the Hoosers. Arrington will be the highest ranked recruit to be signed by a human team, as the top 3 other backs were already signed by the CPU. WR Sean Jackson - Jackson is the #85 overall ranked player in the country and the #9 Wideout. He stands 6'2 and runs a 4.31 40 yard dash. His hands definitely need to develop so he will also more than likely redshirt his first year.

Weve pretty much landed all the guys we want so far and the rest are bonuses. Galaxy, You did steal Grisby but I like to think I gave Barnett to you since I already had 2 committed OLB

Hey, we take what we can get. However, outside of Barnett, Drew, and Grisby, I don't think we really competed with each other too much (or at least going after certain prospects hard) at this point. |

F you about Castillo. He would've been a nice addition to the Wolverines. Bates looked good but I needed other guys week 1 to do visits with so I pushed him away.

Michigan has a huge week 1 as well, nabbing eight four star commits:
4* ATH Graham Workman (8/116) Looks like he'll be a guy who comes in and competes at WR. Has good speed (A-) and jumping ability (A-). Awareness is lacking but he could also line up at DB. 4* DE Jeremy Downs (18/126) Downs is our third four star DE in this class. He is a solid pass rusher with good speed for a big man (B-). With the lack of depth on our DL this is a big pickup. 4* WR John Singletary (13/128) Singletary is an ideal possession WR with solid speed (B+), but he has awesome awareness (A) and solid hands (B). Could see time right away for the Wolverines. 4* RB Karl Dowdell (20/159) Dowdell has amazing awareness (A+), good speed (A-) and good acceleration (A-). He will probably benefit from a RS before competing for some solid playing time in a loaded Wolverine backfield. 4* OLB Leon Rodriguez (23/171) Rodriguez has solid speed (B+), amazing awareness (A+) and he can rush the passer. He is a diamond in the rough for this class. I think he can be a legit player even as a freshman. 4* T Jeremy Burke (16/191) Burke is another kid with amazing awareness (A+) who has B's across the board in blocking. Should help out right away on an undermanned and young Michigan OL. 4* T Brandon Davis (17/219) Davis is another kid with amazing awareness (A+) with B's across the board in blocking. He looks better then Burke, but isn't as highly touted. Both kids plan on being bookends for the Wolverine OL in the future. 4* OLB Jason Hamilton (12/48) Hamilton was a big get for us as he possesses good speed (B+), good awareness (A) and awesome pursuit for a kid (B). He gives us our third OLB in our class. Breakdown of commits: QB - 0 RB - 1 WR - 1 TE - 0 OT - 2 OG - 0 OC - 0 DE - 3 DT - 0 OLB - 3 MLB - 0 DB - 1 ATH - 1 Total - 12 We now sit as the #5 class in the Nation. |

Georgia Tech had a pretty good week 1:
4* HB Jason Russell (#33 HB) 4* G Bryan Watkins (#11 G) 4* HB Hakim Veach (#18 HB) 3* ATH Victor Dailey (#20 ATH) 3* DE Tony Perry (#64 DE) 3* DE Wayne Larsen (#81 DE) 3* WR Pat Whaley (#41 WR) All committed this week. We're up to 8 4* recruits and 6 3* recruits, currently sitting with the #8 recruiting class in the nation. |

We signed our first player in the off-season recruiting stage, in 4-star FS Anthony Moss. We still hold the second best class in the nation (we have 6 5-star recruits, the most in the country).
Does cutting players have an impact on your ability to recruit? What if you signed someone, with a promise, but cut them at some point? |

Michigan adds one more commit this week:
4* ATH Greg Parks (14/203) Projects as a WR or a DB. We can use athletes all over the field so who knows where he winds up. Still, like the options it gives us. |

Penn State gets 3 more recruits to sign on the dotted line this week. I'm not at home so I don't know the exact specs for each recruit.
We signed 2 OT's and another QB, all of which were 4* recruits. That puts me at 4 QB's and 4 OT's. We now have the #8, #9 (JUCO), #10, and #16 tackles in the nation.

Hopefully you'll be able to recruit a little better this coming season since your team prestige (and I'm guessing some of your recruiting attributes are better as well) is higher, and you'll have a full season to recruit. Another nice part is being in the Mountain West Conference, the talent level that you'll need to compete for the conference title isn't quite the same as a BCS Conference. Penn State signed only 1 new recruit this week.
Code:
Zach will be taking KR/PR duties over. He ran a 4.26 which makes him among the fastest players in this years class. Penn State currently has the #4 recruiting class in the nation with 8 scholarships still available.

Georgia Tech adds 3* CB Jake Moore to its list of recruits, a speedy corner with average cover skills.
We've got a few guys visiting this week and expect to land a few players next week if all goes well, including a key for the option offense, a decent scrambling QB. |

I haven't checked the post-Week 3 results yet, but Minnesota is stocking up on receivers. We're going to air it out in Minneapolis this year! Sure, lots of passes will be dropped or intercepted, but we're still gonna throw the ball. GO GOPHERS!

Penn State nabbed 2 more kids this week, bringing our total count to 18.
Code:
Scott will more than likely play Nickel Corner if anything else...mostly a depth sign, as he's just too slow to start regularly. Jenkins is a burner that will find a spot either as a Corner, KR/PR, or Z back. We jumped from the #4 class in the nation to #3. We now have one 5* signee, 14 4* signees, and one each of 3*, 2*, & 1*.
