Ugh...the Niners have to have the worst opening day starters at LG, RG, and RT in the league. How Singletary expected to be a smashmouth offense is beyond me...these guys can't even pass block. Good thing we'll have two first round picks in the top 15 next year.

Chargers special teams comes through again... Kaeding would have been good from well over 60 yards on that one. Tough loss for the Bengals.

Oh, man. The Steelers could have put it away with that onside kick instead their player grabs it a yard too soon and he could have waited five more yards if he wanted..

Ok, the onside kick UP 2 points with 3 minutes and change left. More egregious than the Belichick 4th down?

It doesn't matter all that much as it was likely the Packers were the #5 seed no matter what, but a comeback win is a comeback win no matter how you look at it. These kind of wins help big time.

Packers scored a little too quickly, but they couldn't help it as the Steelers gave them 30+ yards on the kickoff.

Which is why I don't think the onside kick was really a bad call with the way Green Bay had been moving the ball in the 2nd half. A risky move, but even if it's not recovered it probably ends up giving you a little more time to come back if your defense can't stop them.

How is that not a hold when the Steeler lineman grabs the jersey of #90 strongly enough to untuck it from the pants?

Not that it mattered with the incomplete pass, but still.

Rivers played great, the Bengals played well but made some stupid mistakes.

The one thing that pissed me off about this game was the officiating. This crew looked like a bunch of fucking 5th graders out there. TERRIBLE officiating across the board today in San Diego.

The loss in regulation (since if this stupid move doesn't happen it goes into OT) is entirely the fault of the corner on the final pass play.

The defense is a hard blitz, the QB is not going to have time to pick and choose. So whats he do? he gives a 12 yard cushion AND takes an inside position, giving the receiver the sidelines. And BACKS UP as the receiver comes downfield.

fucking MORON. hell *I* could have covered that play better than that. and I SUCK.

I agree, the officiating was pretty bad both ways. On that last play, I think it was Jackson on the other side and he was given a pretty big cushion, too.

Good heavens. That was an epic collapse by the Packers. Can't wait to hear McCarthy talk about how he's going to "clean up" the penalties they committed on that last drive.

Nice catch in the end zone, but I'm still baffled as to what constitutes holding.

Because apparently there are times when it's legal to have a fistful of jersey and times when it's not.

If you're Mason Crosby, you're probably learning how to swim in one of the Great Lakes, and it probably isn't Lake Michigan.

Josh McDaniels might be the worst playcaller in the NFL. How is this team in the WC hunt?

Vikings clinch and the Packers just made things interesting for the Giants and on a smaller scale, the Falcons.

The AFC has a whole bunch of 7-7 teams now.. wow

Falcons were officially eliminated after the Dallas win.

Miami and the Jets are officially eliminated now as well in the AFC.

There's a reason the Packers see the most penalized team on planet earth. All of the alledged bad calls were so obvious. Dude tackles Ward at least 8 yards down the field and it is still a point of emphasis among the refs.

Anyways, fairly exciting game between the NFL pee pants teams.

It's getting ugly in the AFC.

It'll be the Colts and whoever is left standing at the final bell.

In the post game wrap did Joe Buck manage to admit that the onside kick he couldn't possibly understand the reasoning for is likely what allowed the Steelers to win?

How can Miami and the Jets be eliminated when the wild card lead is 8-6.

Though my Titans have a slim shot at a WC spot they are the hottest of the 7-7 teams. However it looks like the Ravens and Broncos will secure the WCs

For some reason I heard Fouts say it today. Unless he was mentioning it in relation to Denver possibly winning.
