I think that once the last pick was 24 hours ago, that person should have their pick pushed down a spot until they get back.

I agree, but since we're mid draft it would be kind of unfair to just spring that on someone now. It's an idea for people who do future drafts to consider, though. Or maybe we can start this in a day or two, if the draft is still going on, to give people enough warning that they will slip in the draft if they don't check the board.

other drafts did consider it. This draft was sort of...ummm...not very planned.

I almost took him, but since he never actually commited a crime (officially), I decided to pass. If it's ok to take a guy like him, it opens a whole lot of options in the draft.......

I believe he was indicted but acquitted, which made him eligible.

Yep, that's the reason OJ was eligible.

In the civil case OJ was actually found liable for the wrongful death of Ronald Goldman, battery against Goldman, and battery against Nicole Brown.

Yep, but you don't have a criminal record if you lose a civil case.

5.8 Susan Smith-Murderer (female)

Smith drove her car into a lake with her kids still inside. She then told authorities that she had been carjacked by a black guy, which everyone believed at first. The truth then came out, and boy did some people feel stupid (and angry).

Do we have to pick a female at some point? Just wondering why it gets flagged. Thanks.

That is a hilarious, awesome pick. I think you could have gotten it in round 29, but it's still good.

Sabotai's pick inspired me to look at those lovable Mets and pick a fellow coca lover who also was accused of rape.

Dwight Gooden, athlete

With pick 6.6 Team Rafini selects Rick James, Entertainer

A notorious drug addict, James served two years in Folsom Prison in the mid '90s for assulting two women. The further exploits of his life have been well cronicled, so what else can be said, except ... He's Rick James, bitch!

P.S. Cocaine's a hell of a drug.

6.7 Roman Polanski - Entertainer

In 1977 Polanski was accused of drugging a 13 year old with quaaludes during a photo shoot, and then having sexual intercourse with her at the vacant home of Jack Nicholson. He served 45 days in prison, then arranged a plea bargain, but when the judge denied it, he fled to Paris where he has remained ever since. He won the Academy Award for directing in 2002 (The Pianist) but couldn't attend since he still faces up to 50 years in prison for his crime.

With my next pick, I stay in the world of boxing. This person was arrested and imprisoned for murder for almost 29 years, before being exonerated and set free. The movie "The Hurricane" was based on his life. With my next pick I choose:

6.8 Rubin "The Hurricane" Carter-athlete

edited to add the athlete category

John Wilkes Booth - Entertainer

Not only did Booth assassinate president Lincoln, he was considered one of the best actors of his time - thus the reasoning to put him in the entertainer category.
