BTW, why wasn't that fumble challenged. It looked like the right call, but it was very close.

Minnesota has run exactly THREE plays from the bengals side of the 50 yard line today.

Thats one swet defensive effort!

Can anyone with the Indy/Jacksonville game explain what's happening? I know it's not raining. As good as Jacksonville's defense looks like it maybe, it's unbelieveable that they could hold the Colts scoreless for the quarters.

The Jags are playing out of their minds on D. They have been getting big time pressure on Manning. That said James has been running the ball right down there throat this drive.

Colts 3rd and goal at the 5. Injury time out as Stroud is on the ground injured. I'm not sure how serious. That would be a devastating blow for Jax if it is serious.

They are still the favorites and they are still a great team. . . but they are doing a lot of "little" things wrong that they haven't done the last few years.

I disagree. Belichick is the master of adjustment. Brady is just having a terrible game and Carolina is taking away the run. And Light just got beat - he's usually very solid.

Just call it an early wake-up call.

When I saw it live, I wasn't sure whether Peppers committed pass interference before he was tackled. On the replay, It seemed pretty one sided.

That hit was a perfect example of Harrington's terrible accuracy. He hangs his WRs out waaay too much.

Not saying he isn't Jim, but I'm just observing from the first two games of the year. IN both the Patriots offense has been MUCH better in the first half than the second. As the games have went along, the offense has gotten worse and worse.

Against the Raiders, I can understand it, the Pats were blowing them out and got a bit conservative. This week it's something they needed. Their first two drives of the second half netted 35 yards on 16 plays. That's not the adjustments I'm used to seeing out of them.

No question they're not getting it done in the second half. I think they've called the right plays, though. I've never seen Brady so flustered and inaccurate. Schmidty would be calling for Harrington to replace him if he were a Pats fan. This is the worst game I've seen him play, period.

The way the Lions have simply given up on defense as well doesn't reflect well on Mooch either. This team has shown no heart, no character, and no fire. That goes back to the coach in my opinion. If the season continues like this, it's time to cut Mooch and his overly-conservative ways loose.

So the Vikings blow again this week. As much joy as this gives me, I am sad because Tice is one week closer to being fired. Maybe the new owner will bring in Rich Kotite. Otherwise I want Tice to stay.

Can't argue with you there and if this were the first game of the year, I'd just chalk it up to a poor game by Brady. But the two things I took out of the first game they played this year was:

1) Dillon looks horrible.
2) The offense got worse as the game progressed against a pretty horrific defense.

Therefore those were the two things I had my eye on today. And bad game by Brady or not, I really expected improvement on both counts today. game isn't over and they can surprise me, but I'm not seeing a lot of open WR out there, I'm not seeing a running game and I'm not seeing this team adjust at all to the defensive schemes Carolina are throwing at them.

We'll see how all of these things look next week. I'm not saying they won't be fixed and I'm not saying the Pats won't end up winning it all off of just this. . . but it't really striking to me how bad they really look.

One more thing. . . while we know Brady won't be that bad all year, what's going on with Dillon? He looks horrible.

Jax down 7 to Indy. 1:44 left, a hobbled Leftwich starting on his own 28. will the comeback kid be golden again, or will the Colts crush him?

I like Leftwich, but I'm betting on the Colts here.

Down to 51 tics and the Jags have a 3rd and 18. Own 34 yard line. 0 timeouts. And he makes a miraculous pass as he's getting nailed. I can't believe the throw I jsut watched.

Simply amazing. Jags ball on the Colts 45, 25 tics left.

The thing is, I can't really explain my hatred for U-M, other than the smarminess of their fans. I remember when I was like 6 or 7, my mom took me to the store to get some clothes, and for some reason she got an MSU shirt and a U-M shirt for me (I don't think she knew any better). When we got home, I quickly put on the MSU shirt since green was my favorite color. When my dad got home from work, he went ballistic. He told me to take the ugly shirt off and told me how horrible MSU was. Being the stubborn kid that I was (and still am), I decided to keep it on. The rest is history.

It is so annoying that when a punt returner takes the time to get blocking for a good return, there is always going to be a holding/clipping.
