Post Fight Interview - Joe Bagadonuts

Merchant, "Most of us felt Babson would outclass Back in this fight, and he seemed to. Are you pleased?'

Joe, "Very much so. We were so comfortable with our superior ability that we took the middle rounds off and still won going away."

Burt Sugar, "Babson got cut up a good bit. Any concerns over that?"

Joe, "Not really, I think you'll find if you watch the tape...some of those cuts came from the elbow in the 11th and some other boarderline illegal stuff Back was pulling out there."

Rankings Out

Despite his loss to Marccuci...Jimmy Hurricane Saunders only falls 1 spot to #20 in the rankings

Butcher Babson's 7 and 0 start has him at #30

Pancho O'Kelly is also at #30

Baked Beans, who seems to be improving probably due to Joe Bagadonuts figuring out a better way to use his abilities is at 65

Ok, we gotta get back on the right track. We should have busted Marcucci up on the inside from the start instead of taking a chance with other stuff. None of this pussyfooting around in the next fight- it's time to get back on track, either dancing the sluggers to death or just pummelling these guys who can't hurt Hurricane. I'll accept losing to Reddick- he's a great fighter. We should have mopped the floor with this hasbeen.

Si,

I know how you feel. My first inclination was to go inside and pound this guy. However, he has only been KO 3 times in over 20 fights...and all of those were to big power punchers...which Hurricane is not. The plan should have worked. I messed up by not having your AGG a little higher. However, in scouting Maccuci had been throwing a lot of power punches...and I wanted to keep the D up to prevent you tiring to quickly and I wanted to keep enough power to stop an allout surprise.

I agree we should have won this one...but the good thing is we took almost no damage in the fight...thus lengthening Hurricanes career. We'll probably get another shot at him soon.

I'm working on learning more complex fight plans to beat some of the higher ranked fighters. I seem to kill the average gyms but get killed by the real good ones. It may take me some time to completely get the hang of the conditionals I'm inserting. Condor's is helping me with scouting, which hopefully will pay dividends as well.

Upcoming Heavyweight Fights

Billy Bob Bunyon (6-0-1 3/0) vs Les "their" Cherries (8-2-0 7/1)

This is a tough matchup for Les. Most of Les' KO's have come late in fights and Bunyon has a ton of stamina. In addition he switches masterfully between jabs and power based on the progression of the fight.

Corey "One Punch" Thacker (7-3-0 7/3) vs Cuts like a Razor "Blade" (7-4-0 7/3)

Thacker has fought Cherries previously and was KOed late. Blade wins alot of fight with late KOs. Blade will attempt to adopt Cherries style for this fight and get a KO in the 10th or 11th.

Coleburg The Man (3-2-0 3/1) vs Jace Hunter (6-4-0 6/3)

Once again Hunter lack of agility is a problem in a fight. Coleburg moves well and punches the body well. Basically, Hunter is going to have to try and let Coleburg wear himself out and hopefully Hunter will have more left in the middle rounds to finish off his opponent.

Wowsers, go Butcher! Of course, I've lucked out some with the last two opponents, I assume the next one will be a much higher class. Nice plan for the fight Breeze, pretty much 'breezed' to victory.

Do you think it is time to start training Les in something other than stamina?

LOL

I was hoping to post this at the same time you posted the results. It's no rush for Butcher's stats, I was just wondering what had been trained recently.

Post Fight Interview - Joe Bagadonuts

Charlies Stiener, "Another patient display from Blade."

Joe, "Blade has 8 wins and I'm not sure but I think all have been like this. He does an outstanding job of being patient, taking his lumps early and finishing off his opponent late."

George Foreman, "Blade got tagged pretty good in this one, any injuries."

Joe, "He looked worse that he was. The eye was swollen, but be really didn't get abused. In fact, I think we'll be ready to go at our next fight, we won't have to delay at all."

Merchant, "Joe, a tough loss. What happened?"

Joe, "We knew it was going to be tough, and we felt our best shot was to come out gunning. It is unbelieveable a fighter can take that much abuse and not only stay on his feet, but really show no ill affects from the barrage. That guy is truely a block head."

Post Fight Interview - Joe Bagadonuts

George Foreman, "That was a very exciting fight. I didn't think Hunter was going to have enough left to get the KO. How confident were you?"

Joe, "Not very. I think we played it perfectly. If we drop our guard a round earlier he drops us, if we wait a round later we are too tired and probably get dropped as well. This was about our only shot and Hunter played it like a champ."

Breeze, damned nice job man, excellent work on the fight plan, I really anticipated losing a decision in this one, but hey, this was probably the closest I've been on the cards in any fight that went past 6 rounds. My thanks man.

Post Fight Interview - Joe Bagadonuts

Charlie Stiener, "A very strange fight Joe, What happened?"

Joe, "Well, Beans and I decided to go with a pretty radical fight plan. We were hoping to get a lead and force Perry to up his level of effort to win rounds. Then his Defense would be low and we would catch him by suprise with an allout round."

Atlas, "Didn't work!"

Joe, "Yeah...I saw that."

Atlas, "Why did you decide to go that route."

Joe, "We had seen Perry's tendancy to open up to win rounds. This time though he was staying close with some power punches. I probably should have called the allout off, but Beans felt he could drop him...so I let him give it a shot."

ftxjyy Rank #28 (9-4-0) (1/3) vs Pancho O`Kelly Rank #30(8-3-1) (6/1)

PreFight Assessment - Teddy Atlas

Here is a rematch I've very interested in watching. The last time these 2 fighters met the alternate styles made for a great match. F(which will call him because the foreigner's name is impossible to pronounce) used his jab and built an early lead. Pancho countered by throwing big punches inside and inflicting a large amount of damage. In the end it took an allout round from Pancho to finish off the tough foreigner.

---------------Predictions---------------

Atlas, "I think Pancho beats F again, and I think it will be in a similar manor. In fact, Pancho could hurt F so much in this fight F considers retirement."

Stiener, "Pancho was lucky to get the win last time. F is currently fighting well and I think his Chin is better than it was last time. I'll take F in a decission."

Foreman, "Pound away Panch my man. I love watching dancers get there head pounded."

FOFC BOXER ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT

Bobby Baked Beans (6-6-0) has announced his retirement from boxing. Beans, who showed great promise at times, was very inconsistant. Some experts claim that inconsistancy came from his post fight and post training habits to combat pain...which is also where the nick-name Baked came from. No comments from the FOFC Gym staff or trainer Joe Bagadonuts regarding this rumor. Joe only had this to say, "Beans is a great kid, who will be helping me scouting our boxers future opponents. I think he will do a great job for us."

Dear Mr. O'Kelly,

After further review...your son Pancho O'Kelly is in for a hell of a match. His opponent, F (as he is affectionately known), has obviously used his training to increase his chin and conditioning. That makes him about impossible to KO unless your fighter is built to KO everyone (which Pancho isn't). F's hand speed and footwork is as good as anyones, and his power is enough to keep most fighters honest. Last time these 2 met, Pancho went with a very low defense and bombed away at the body early, eventually KOing F in the 12th with an allout. That doesn't seem to be working in sparring. Therefore we will be hoping to implement a fight plan which will force F into a high AGG and Low DEFENSE attack, at which point we'll go allout and hope to drop him.

Wish us luck...we'll need it.

Sincerely,
Joe Bagadonuts

Post Fight Interview - Joe Bagadonuts

Teddy Atlas - "Joe, why the different strategy this time around against F?"

Joe, "The guy has only be KO twice, and none in his last 5 fights. Then the only person who's gotten him other than Pancho was heavy puncher Diego Corrales. We felt his conditioning and chin had improved to the point Pancho wouldn't have been able to get the KO. I mean Panch isn't really a KO artist."

Stiener, "Panch started out real well what happened."

Joe, "Well, we decided to get the early lead, which worked. We knew if we got a 2 round lead he would switch in the 3rd to power punching, so we decided to go with counter. In the 4th...his tendency is to open up to try and get the other round he trails by back, so we decided to open up to prevent that. Unfortunately, he stayed with power punching and caught us with low defense. Bad luck I guess."

Atlas, "That's 2 straight losses for Pancho...you concerned?"

Joe, "Not really, he's doing well and has a lot of ability, we've just run into some good fighters recently. We just need to win a couple in a row and we'll be right back up in the top 20."

Maxximum Pain (10-4-0 4/1) vs Jimmy "Hurricane" Saunders (8-3-0 5/0)

Prefight Assessment – Teddy Atlas

Hurricane has run into some problems lately, he is in a tweener point of his career. He is fast, but not as fast as most dancers, and he is strong but not nearly as strong as a slugger. Sometimes that lack of strength has made it impossible to get a KO when he needs it, and the lack of speed has made it impossible to outpoint a faster opponent. This week he matches up better with his opponent. Maxximum Pain is a very good fighter. He puts up good point number per round and has some power. But he’s very similar to Saunders in make up, not a true KO figher, not a true dancer. Both of these fighters, if they can avoid injury should have a nice career, but right now they need favorable matchups until they can get a little stronger or faster through training.

-----------Predictions-------------

Atlas, “I think Hurricane outpoints Pain, probably 117 to 113.”

Sugar Ray, “I like Hurricane’s chances. I think he’ll get a lead, then work the body to wear out Pain. Eventually, though I think he wins on the cards.”

Brian "The Butcher" Babson (7-0-0 2/0) vs Dro Finder 11 (10-3-0 10/3)

PreFight Assessment – Larry Merchant

Babson has drawn the unenviable position of fighting one of the most punishing fighters in the cruiserweight division. Dro 11 has won his last 5 fights by KO, 9 of the 10 have been round 1 jobs and the other KO was in the 7 th. He had the stamina needed to drop an opponent in the 7 th round. Truly, this guy is a machine or manufactured human as the case may be.

Babson can win this fight if he covers up enough to keep from getting hurt and delivers enough punishment to wear out Dro. Good luck though.

------------------Prediction------------------

Merchant, “Babson survives the 1 st, not the 2 nd.”

Foreman, “Dro 11 is scary. He’ll get his usual 1 st round KO.”

Atlas, “Babson’s trainer, Bagadonuts has a good history of getting his fighters through the early rounds against opponents like this. I don’t think Babson will be able to do it, but the history is there. If I were a betting man, I would take Dro in the 3 rd or earlier.”

Joe Bagadonuts, “Butcher, get over here!”

“Son, you’ve got a toughie tonight. Your going up against Dro Finder 11. I know those Dro fighters are just wrong, but you’ve drawn him and you’ll have to fight him.”

“Just to let you know what you’ll be up against, do ask me how I got this, but it’s a secret document from the Dangerous Gym’s laboratory:”

Number 11 is a force to be reckoned with. For some reason he has a darker personality than all the other droids, as if he really has feelings of dark hatred toward all opponents. Around the Dangerous camp, he is known as "the dark droid"

“That document is top secret so don’t discuss it with anyone.”

“Our best chance in this fight is to put you in the stockade and train chin. It worked for Hurricane when he fought Dro 5. Remember - that, that doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.”

“Speaking of which...do you have a will?”

Hey Joe,

The experts are worried, but you always come through for us against these super KO artists. Are you going to whip out the trusty counter like we did way back against KeeP? Anyhow, I'll get in the chin-training stockade after I find my trunks with "I hate droids" on the front.

Butcher (holding ice to his groin): Man this ice is cold. Did you see that illegal stuff that guy was pulling out there? Joe should've set me up with a four year old swinging a wiffle bat at 'little Butcher' instead of the stocka...I mean, chin trainer. But like I told Joe, we can handle these crazy one round KO artists. I have a feeling we'll have more challenging and complicated opponents ahead.

And Hurricane...I mean, when an opponent is called Maximum Pain and he doesn't even get hurt in winning the fight in a cakewalk, there aint nothing else to say.
