PFF didn't have a draft grade on him. Said he's one of the least accurate QBs they've charted at every level of the field. Also said his freshman year everyone put so much hope into was largely Allen Robinson bailing him out on bad throws.

Happy the Bears were able to pick up more picks, but the players that were picked in those slots would've been helpful to build the defense. Hope Pace and crew are able to parlay the extra picks into solid players.

There's minimal value in the difference between a good kicker and an average kicker. Drafting one at all is questionable. Drafting one in the 2nd round is as stupid as it gets.

Exactly my thoughts. I would never draft a kicker prior to the 7th round and even then I would only do it if there weren't any developmental guys I wanted left on the board. I think Fairbairn is a better prospect anyway.

After watching his highlight reel again, I feel like Tyler Boyd is an outstanding pick. Dalton tends to throw high, and Boyd goes up and gets balls better than anyone else in this draft maybe. He reminds me a lot of Marvin Jones with his ability to win contested balls and his excellent hands.

I'm very pleased with the bears draft so far. You can tell the organization has shifted to analytics when they've taken the 17th, 19th, and 27th rated players by PFF.

Building up the front 7 and the O-Line has been a priority and it's something that's good to see.

Wonder what the Titans are up to? Trading and paying Murray while using a 2nd rounder on Henry. The backs like Henry havent had the most success in the NFL lately. I also was confused with the Cowboys. Sure it is a gamble but why not gamble on Jack who can help them next year? And the Bucs trading up to take a kicker is beyond belief. Does anyone else wonder how these so called experts being paid 100,000s a year can botch one of the most important parts of their jobs so bad?

The Aguayo pick is a bizarre one. Yes he was great in college but I'm willing to bet an NFL team can find three kickers in training camp who can be good from inside his range.

Kessler and Tuerk go early. Tuerk is going to be really good if he can overcome injury concerns, he's incredibly athletic for an interior lineman. Kessler is another strange one, he doesn't have an NFL arm and Cook was on the board. Cook must really have rubbed NFL teams the wrong way, in pure talent I don't think he's much behind the 3 guys taken in the first round, and miles ahead of Hackenburg and Kessler

I think they out-think themselves sometimes, like when Mike Smith, GM ofo the Jags, took P Bryan Anger, when we needed a lot more talent, in the 3rd round. He said P was a starting position, and getting a guaranteed starter in the 3rd was a great deal. We need a metric ton of talent, and wasted a 3rd on Anger. Even if Anger wound up the best P in teh NFL, you don't spend a 3rd in that situation for him. He wasn;t even close to teh top.

I'm a little disappointed that we didn't get a whole three days of revelations about Laremy Tunsil's dark side, as revealed by whoever swiped his social media accounts. I was hoping to see things like:

-Here is the canceled check Tunsil cashed for his role in throwing the 2014 Peach Bowl
-Here is a security video from the liquor store Tunsil robbed in November.
-Here's a pic of Tunsil holding a bloody knife while standing over a dead body.
-Here is the plane ticket Tunsil used to fly to Brazil, where he personally injected sleeping tourists with the Zika virus.
-Here's an audio recording of Tunsil discussing Star Wars, where he asks "Why couldn't all the movies be more like Attack of the Clones?"

Pretty happy with the Giants draft so far. The more I read and saw of Eli Apple, the more I liked the pick. I know people were high on VH3, and I can't say otherwise because I don't watch college much, but in a vacuum, Eli Apple looks like he contribute right away and become a quality starter in the NFL. From the scout reports I've read: Strengths: Press and Man coverage; Weaknesses: Doesn't get a lot of INTs and gets grabby in coverage leading to penalties. Plus, after DRC and Jenkins, the Giants have no one remotely halfway decent and Nickel defenses are practically base defenses in the NFL nowadays. They Giants defense had 3 CBs on the field on 70% of their plays last year.

2nd round pick looks like someone who can step in at WR #3 from day one, and might be a decent starter if Cruz ends up being done. They take a good prospect at FS in the 3rd round, which was a need for them as well.

Same here on Apple. I think we basically got next year's Jalen Ramsey as he is still young (just turned 21 the other day I believe). I'm good with that thinking as it seems every season we have depth issues at CB due to injuries, let alone actually having 3 solid CBs out there when healthy.

Shepherd looks like a future Cruz replacement at the slot. In the meantime he's likely already the best option to throw at the #2 spot opposite Odell. Though I have to admit I was hoping they would take Ragland at this spot as I think he would be a great presence and tone setter on defense. Something they haven't had in a long time.

The Steelers draft isn't awful or anything, but it's looking to be a few singles and a double. They need a home run on occasion cause our roster is aging.

Given that there were 71 missed PAT's last year from 6 2 years ago, I'm not too sure about that.

He was a great 2nd round pick.

Then I love the Billings pick in round 4. A run stuffing DT to pair with Atkins is a great idea, considering Peko has always been average and the other DTs were all rotating through the inactive lists last year.

Yeah, I get Billings isn't a good fit for a lot of teams, but with Geno as the pass rusher, he should slot nicely on first and second downs to keep the interior linemen off the LBs.

Watch out for Jags 4th rounder Dt Sheldon Day. The Jags had teh Senior Bowl three years in a row, and drafted a ton of players they found there, and most, Telvin Smith, Brandon Linder, and more have all been really good, quality backups or played above their draft pick. DT Sheldon Day was a Senior Bowl this year with Gus Bradley. I'd not be surprised to see that trend continue.

I spend a lot of time trying to understand the draft, because I want to provide a more realistic experience.

Today, the Raiders traded up to pick Connor Cook. So this wasn't a pick made because Cook was the best-rated player on the board. It wasn't a need pick, because they had #75, where Cook was already "slipping," and they took a different Michigan State player (Calhoun, who I thought would be a high first-rounder based on 2014 play, but did drop quite a bit last season).

Derek Carr is their quarterback. He's young, and he does some things quite well, others not so well. McGloin is an adequate backup. Gilbert is an adequate clipboard carrier with potential upside. All three are young.

What algorithm looks at #75, passes on Cook, then trades up to #100 (not cheaply, either) to take him, knowing it means Gilbert is gone, and, really, so is McGloin when you consider that teams rarely protect three quarterbacks these days?

As an aside, do a lot of people watch those Gruden QB shows ESPN has been running for a while now? Basically, this ex-coach, who certainly wasn't a bad coach, needles the living crap out of top draft-eligible quarterbacks while they're reviewing film. Gruden makes Ted Cruz look likeable by comparison, but it's kind of revealing, because you can see just how hard these quarterbacks are working not to say anything sarcastic or defensive. Anyway, the Cook stuff with Gruden, especially when Gruden is needling him about not being elected captain, is as uncomfortable as an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. I only wish Gruden were doing this when Ryan Leaf was up for the draft.
