So you think Pass, a wolf, posed as the Arcane Collector because he knew the real one could be tempted to come out and say it (He got me, then ). Then they could knock me out, knowing I was the real AC.

If that was your plan Pass....well played.

Jets, my guess is if you are the Arcane Collector, you made the right play. The only other thing you could have done tomorrow is put a quick and obvious vote on him but that would basically out you to Pass but not to the village. I'll be curious to see how this plays out.

Exactly why he pinged my wolfdar.

NP, wasn't trying to be a big smartass either, so I hope you didn't take it as such. I know I got caught up with Political Machine (had never played it before and am really enjoying it) and so I kind of allowed myself to get lost in the shuffle.

Is there a demo out do you know?

No demo, so I bought it outright for the $20 and am really, really impressed. It's fun, challenging, and interesting. My wife is a teacher also and she might use it for her government class next year.

You should let barkeep know. He usually is really into that type of game.

I thought about it but he already had commented in the thread up in Off-Topic. That's actually how I found it.

Me too but I vaguely remember not being too happy with the first one so I really want to demo this one as people say it's very similar. I can't remember what I didn't like about it though.

For some reason I was thinking it was real time like the corporate machine but this one is turn based.

What I don't get is why the wolves would want to counter my almost meaningless reveal. I must be really on to them, if they're willing to do a 1-for-1 trade to get rid of me. Or maybe there's more wolves then we know.

Now, one big question, what does the book do? My fear is that maybe it can keep Pass from being lynched or dying or something? Jets' role might be important here if he has to steal the book from Pass so we can lynch him. I know it is the book of the dead, just wondering what powers it might provide in this game that both sides have a player that is after it.

My guesses on the possible powers of the book:

*Summon Ctulu (not sure who/what that would do, but throwing that out there)
*Protect in the case of a lynch or a night kill
*Allow for conversions

The book does nothing for me. It's just my goal.

I leave my browser open all day, so technically yes but I was playing Rome: Total War.

Trust me, I don't have the book. Like I said, I'm looking for it.

Speaking of trust, look back at my posts in the Alan/Telle run-off. Alan was trying to muck stuff up, but you can see that I was interested in getting to the bottom of it all, and finding the book.

That'd be too powerful a book unless it only works once in which case Pass is doomed either way. Still, could be. The book is very powerful.

Mrs Schmidty leads us to believe it's at least the last one.

I think if you leave the browser open, but you don't click around, the board figures out you're gone after a while. I don't know how long that takes -- it's probably that you had just left, but weren't considered 'gone' as far as the board was concerned.

I'll quickly, leaving in a minute, try to see if I can get any clues from that wiki-thing that people were using for Lovecraft.

Maybe. Why does it matter? Whether I was around or not, I saw today that you said you were the arcane collector. Being a new player, I was somewhat dumbfounded but I eventually figured that I think the only reason you would lie is if you were a wolf. If the wolves get a reward of some kind for killing me, then I screwed up but if not, your a wolf trying to gain trust.

Here's a link to read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necronomicon

There was discussion of summoning or perhaps even bringing back the dead, although that wouldn't be helpful unless we weren't informed that somebody was brought back (maybe something to keep an eye on as well).

It doesn't matter. If you had seen it back then, and waited until now to say something, it might look like you were a wolf consulting with other wolves. But from what I remember, you left shortly after, and I don't remember seeing you back until you spoke up about this.

Actually, looking at the player list, we need to be careful. Somebody (Pass I believe) is trying to narrow down roles to find the bearer of the necronomicon. If you have it, do NOT reveal. IF the wolves get the book, I think we have a problem.

Nope, I checked a few minutes ago. The kill list verified Telle was the Bearer.

I definitely waited, only because I was trying to figure out why the hell you would lie about it (And am trying to conquer Europe ). I didn't think about Wolves killing me if they knew I was the AC, so if that's why you are lying, I made a mistake.

The wolves have the book now, we know that, either that or there's no role for the book anymore. Why would Pass reveal if he gained a better role if he got the book? There was no point in revealing. No one at that point was pointing a finger at him.

Wait a minute. If the Bearer of the Necronomicon is protected tonight by the bodyguard, is it possible for the wolves to steal it from that person?

The bodyguard would have to protect the dead Telle. Schmidty confirmed she was the Bearer of the Necronomicon.

Well, you guys can have the US and Europe -- I'll focus on Oceania and South America. Those are easier to defend anyway, since they have less border countries.

Good call on Telle being the Bearer of the Necronomicon -- I hadn't noticed that. Maybe that role made it so that when attacked, she converted, instead of died? And now the wolves have the book? Then hopefully lynching LSG destroys it -- unless she passes it to someone else?

Right. Which is why I said that the wolves have it now.

Unless the Arcane Collector already stole it back.

At least I accomplished that much. Although, I guess it's probably more true to say that you were the one that made things interesting. No one seemed to care whether or not I was the Arcane Collector until you showed up.
