It's a stereo type that asian women are horrible drivers.

OMG, I've had this random thought for so long. It seems like every weekend matinee in the 80's featured quicksand. I may have been more scared of quicksand as a kid than I was of monsters.

Hey guys, I don't typically post appeals like this, but I'm in the process of raising money for an organization called Big City Mountaineers, which funds backpacking and canoeing trips for at-risk inner-city teens in Colorado, California, the Pacific Northwest and the Boundary Waters.

As they state on their website:
At BCM, we work alongside the transformative powers of Mother Nature to leave a lasting impact on the lives of under-resourced youth. Our wilderness expeditions bring kids out of their comfort zones and into the wild, where they develop the confidence needed for more promising futures.

Our programs focus on improving the self-esteem, sense of responsibility, group communication and decision-making skills of nearly 1,000 youth annually.
If any of you are so inclined to donate, I'd really appreciate it. Donations are tax deductible. No donation is too small.

Here's a link for further information about Big City Mountaineers:

https://www.bigcitymountaineers.org/

And here's a link to my fundraising page:

https://www.classy.org/fundraiser/1177841

Let me know if you have any questions. I appreciate the help and consideration.

Who / what?

(point being, I had to Google to have any clue what you were talking about ... zero name recognition & I had no idea he had any connection to MSU)

I'd say they aren't being dragged to the gallows since they had both a Title IX investigation that cleared him AND a prosecutor that saw no reason to proceed with the case. Common sense might actually prevail here, they didn't have sufficient grounds to shut him down.

edit to add: Or, you know, the media will decide to hang 'em retroactively depending upon their mood, who is connected to whom, and so forth.

I don't know what's sadder. The fact that I had to uninstall a game because I was playing it too much, or the fact that that game was Starcraft.

How did a terrible song like It's All Right by Matt and Kim get onto a published album, much less played over the air and then picked up by Buick to use as the theme song for the inane commercials they have been playing for the past 18 months.

I mean this song is terrible at everything it is trying to do, except possibly for me rushing to switch away from it on the radio or on TV.

That moment when you're asked to leave the roller coaster because the restraint won't close around you.

I know I'm overweight (5'10", 230), but this is pretty eye-opening here.

I'm not gonna tell ya 5'10 230 is ideal, Vince, but that feels like a rather short end of limits for a rollercoaster. Unless we're talking some kind of church carnival renter or something like that.

For the last few years my wife and I have spent New Years Eve watching Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin on CNN, a new year's tradition for old boring people.

This year it's Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen and it's friggin awful, absolute crap.

Holy fuck I <3 you! I was just listening to that!

Behind The Lines/Duchess/Guide VOcal is such a sweet transition.

And love Cul de Sac

I've been on a crusade to get all Genesis albums at my local library system. So far they've ordered (in order) Wind & Wuthering, Trick of the Tail, and now Duke.

Trespass is hopefully next.

Duke I think is their last hurrah as what they were. Although I DO like the perfection album a lot.

Abacab has some greats on it too

So, is there an app somewhere where I can type in a movie name and it will automatically inform me when that movie is available on my streaming channel of choice?

So many movies I'd like to watch, only to find them unavailable on amazon prime or Netflix, and I quickly forget about them, never knowing if months down the line they are watchable.

You know what, there was a Carol Burnett 50th anniversary special on the other night and I found myself thinking that Carol might not have had the prettiest face, but she had some pretty nice legs - as did a young Vicki (who joined the show at like 19). Late 60s? Yeah, I think I would, over the other duo.

And after two days of installation related stuff (entirely left to professionals) my wife finally has her new 55" TV set up & mounted on the highly irregular stone surface over the fireplace in the den.

And my overwhelming internal response is "thank God this all happened while the kid is home on break & he can deal with setting up all the apps and shit. #BetterHimThanMe"

Loving the cancellation of my kids' schools this morning for potential road conditions. Apparently, in Atlanta, a 50% chance of freezing rain and a high of 40 cancels schools across the entire state. At least Fulton County was honest and cited the potential traffic from the game and presidential motorcade. Snow in the forecast at 100%, we wait until 11:45 to cancel schools at noon, but the potential of rain...cancel!
