Bold Prediction sure to go wrong: The winner of Bills/Bengals tonight will represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

Apparently Harbaugh's buyout is only $3M and Athletic is reporting that sources close to him expect he'll leave if he gets an offer.

Where would he go? all but a handful of teams would fire their coach to bring him in. He is going to want to go somewhere that a complete rebuild isn't required. I suspect he would want a young QBB with talent.

Arizona Cardinals- Maybe but would he deal with Murray?

Atlanta Falcons- Cabinets pretty bare

Baltimore Ravens-nope

Buffalo Bills- nope

Carolina Panthers-maybe?

Chicago Bears- him and Fields would be interesting. Colse to home

Cincinnati Bengals-nope

Cleveland Browns- can see it. Close to home and has a top QB talent

Dallas Cowboys-I assume Jerry would can McCarthy to get him. I suspect depends on how Harbaugh feels about Dak

Denver Broncos- that Russ cantract, ehhh....

Detroit Lions-I can see it if the Lions would fire Cambell

Green Bay Packers- The stadium may implode with him and Arod in the same building

Houston Texans- nope

Indianapolis Colts-nope,

Jacksonville Jaguars- could totally see it. Young QB, some talent around him.

Kansas City Chiefs- nope

Las Vegas Raiders-Would be a flashy move, can see it but the QB situation is obviously less than ideal

Los Angeles Chargers-I don't think they can Staley but if they do would be a great spot for him

Los Angeles Rams-nope

Miami Dolphins-likely not, I think they like their guy

Minnesota Vikings- Maybe?

New England Patriots-nope

New Orleans Saints-no QB and cap hell

New York Giants-nope

New York Jets- I think they like Salah and Harbaugh would hate NY

Philadelphia Eagles- nope

Pittsburgh Steelers-nope

San Francisco 49ers- nope

Seattle Seahawks-nope

Tampa Bay Buccaneers-I don't think he would like the Brady unknown

Tennessee Titans- doesn't seem like a good fit

Washington Commanders- not as long a Snyder is owner

I think Jax, Cleveland, or Dallas are likely spots. In that order. Chargers if they offer him are a great spot. Lions outside chance because of the Michigan connection.

Re Dallas, if they were going to fire McCarthy for anyone I assume it would be Sean Payton, who is also expected to return to the NFL this coming year.

Also re the Rams, isn't McVey a short-timer? He already made noise about retiring after the SB and speculation is he won't coach much longer.

Dola dola.

Also, is Wilson's contract that much of a hindrance? One, I read through a twitter thread in late November where Denver cuts Russ after June 1 and has somewhat manageable cap hell for 2 years and then it's just a matter of eating the money. And two, someone like Harbaugh or Payton is going to command 10 years. He'll outlast Russell Wilson.

I was surprised he went ahead with the Vikings interview last year. So I am aware I might be entirely wrong about this perception.

I grew up in the next neighborhood over in Ann Arbor; Harbaugh was in the same grade. We played on the same sixth-grade basketball team (he was the starting center, and scored just about all of our team's points in the championship game; I stayed on the bench, and only played the minimum coaches were required to play everyone).

Every kid in Ann Arbor knew about Harbaugh. He was by far the best athlete at any sport he tried. He was particularly good at baseball - no one could even see his fastball. His dad was an assistant coach at Michigan. He played Junior Wolverines football (I didn't) and he and his brother were the star players. Then went off to California for high school and came back to go to college.

I think his heart is in Ann Arbor and this is what he wants to do. My sense is that he took the Vikings interview because he was angry that he was asked to take a pay cut, hurt by the fans who wanted him gone. The only way he leaves Michigan is if he's asked to leave.

However, college football is a nuthouse right now. And there's unfinished business in the NFL - that Super Bowl loss ten years ago undoubtedly stings more than anything (losing to his brother, especially). So that connection to Michigan has to contend with what's perhaps an even strong feeling of closure.

I have to take him at his word - that as long as Michigan wants him, he's here. The instant he feels Michigan doesn't want him, he's gone.

The lack of picks is a killer. I just don't see it

I think it remains to be seen but if anyone can get him back to elite it is Harbaugh

I can't see Jim Irsay not kicking the tires on Jim Harbaugh this offseason. I think Jim is still young enough to play QB for the Colts.

Harbaugh versus Matt Ryan in a preseason QB competition. Winner gets to be quarterback. Loser gets to be coach.

Denver 2023 - 1st (SF via Miami), 2 3rds (1 from IND), 4th, 6th, 7th
Denver 2024 - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 2 5ths (1 from NYJ), 2 7ths (1 from LAR)

Hardly debilitating.

2022 and 2023. Then they got a 1 back for 2023 by trading Bradley Chubb - although they gave up what is turning out to be a top 5 pick for a late 20-something pick based on how far the 49ers go in the playoffs.

Yeah, I have the game on in the background and I don't know who the player is but you never want to hear the announcers say "administering CPR"

CPR was administered for ten minutes before they finally got him in the ambulance. That is just not good.

Just found the video. Really scary stuff. Not sure they should be continuing.

If you watch the video, tons of credit to Joe Mixon who immediately started pointing at Hamlin.

If they do call the game, you have to wonder about the long-term repercussions of that.

I mean the Bills are fighting for the number one seed with the Chiefs. You're kind of robbing them of getting a crucial win.

Just talked to a friend who is a paramedic in Cincinnati. He suspects it was a hit to the chest causing heart arrythmia. Pure speculation.

I did not get a sense that the team(s) were going to obey a return to play order no matter what the consequences tbh.

At least not until they have some sort of word.

I could honestly see both teams refusing to play right now

Yeah, not only is it a competitive balance issue, but guys in the wrong frame of mind can hurt or be hurt. I don't know how to make it up, but they shouldn't resume tonight.

That is quite secondary to a human life. The NFL will figure it out.Geez it is just a ball game.

They keep saying nothing like this has ever happened before but in the 90s a Lions player had to have a tracheotomy on the field. Similar situation although he obviously was OK.

Umm, the NFL ordered the game to resume within five minutes of the player being carted off the field.

The suspension only came after pretty much zero players made any movement to use the five minute warmup period to do anything to prepare to resume play.

I have to imagine the game is continued tomorrow. God forbid a worst-case scenario, the NFL is not suddenly going to stop. Games will happen next weekend, even for the Bills. But the NFL is in a no-win situation either way they go.

At least not until they have some sort of word.

I could honestly see both teams refusing to play right now

I suspect that NY sent word to get out there and play. And the players just didn’t.

Full credit to the players.

Wow, I don't think I knew of the Hughes incident. That's an even tougher situation - minute left in the game, team driving down 5 points - and they played it out to conclusion.
