What are the odds that Xavier and Cornell can pull these out?
I want K-State to lose and lose badly. Their coach looks like a serious a-hole... |

Agreed. Now I'm hoping Washington can somehow land Terrence Jones to slide into Pondexter's spot. If the rest of the team shows much improvement at all they could be very dangerous next year.

I don't like Xavier's chances here. The officials are in hyper let em play mode. That fits perfectly into how KState wants to play. My favorite play during the 15 point run was the "block" KState had in the interior. The replay showed the first Wildcat defender jump into the guys chest and the second raking his arms. . . somehow both fouls were missed and the ball was out to KState. (That part of the call was right, because the ball did go off the Xavier player after both arms were mowed down)
I'd be interested to see KState play when the refs are calling a game tighter. As I type that I don't like their chances, Xavier goes on an 11-2 run to get back into the game. |

I wonder if Washington expected Ebanks to guard Thomas? I was pretty surprised that they decided to go that route -- I thought he would match up with Pondexter. I'll be interested to hear the post game comments on it.

Love the atmosphere for this game. Hoping Calipari's squad goes down in flames. Guy is a scumbag.

The Cornell/Kentucky game is fun to watch. It looks like they have a ton of fans there and I suspect all the WVU and Washington fans are pulling for them, too.

I don't know if anybody remembers, but I called that on FOFC. Ebanks is a great perimeter defender. A lot of WVU fans have been questioning how he thinks he can go pro. I say cause there aren't too many 6'9" guys that can guard elite perimeter scorers and rebound the way he does. His offense is a work in progress, but he is a pretty good ball-handler for his size as well. |

The officials really tightened it up in the KState/Xavier game. I'm happy they di because I want to see a good basketball game, but I think the KState contingent has a right to be upset. They changed the way the game was called in the middle of it.

It's amusing how much this Kentucky/Cornell game is mirroring the W&M/UNC NIT game.

I definitely remember -- good call! Ebanks on Wall, should they advance, could be interesting for his draft/leaving early prospects. BTW -- Sweet Jesus! I just looked at the box score and realized that Ebanks had 8 turnovers w/ 6 assists. What an odd player. |

Same boat. Part of me would love to see more John Wall but I just can't fucking stand Calipari. Then again, these wins will all probably be vacated at some point anyway.

Good win tonight. People who hadn't watched WVU play prior to the tournament are probably a little underwhelmed, but WVU has consistently won playing this style of basketball.
Casey Mitchell is finally starting to get things. It's too late in the season to change his role much, but next year I really think he'll become the player he was expected to be when he arrived in Morgantown. I love Joe Mazzulla and I expect him to end up on Hugg's staff at some point down the road. I cringe every time Cam touches the ball. Love the guy to death and he's great for hustle plays, defense, and fouls but I want him as far away from the ball as possible. |

Watching this game kind of makes me mad. The refs did not allow the Badgers to play the physical defense that Kentucky is getting to play tonight. I don't know, nor do I care since it does not matter but it's worth mentioning. The refs were the same for the Badgers first round game, too, which they struggled due to light fouls being called.
Cornell IS just in complete awe of these athletes. This game is pathetic, unfortunately. |

People who only watch college basketball generally have a hard time understanding that NBA teams draft on potential in most cases. I've said it before, but Ebanks reminds me of Ron Artest. Artest had more offensive responsibility at St. John's than Ebanks does now, but their games are very similar at the same stage. |

Terrible looking video, but it's the best I could find. I'm willing to bet 90% of WVU fans saw what happens here coming as soon as he touched the ball. The funniest part of the whole thing was watching Kevin Jones and the other players on the bench try to hide their laughing as Huggs was screaming. Last edited by Atocep : 03-25-2010 at 10:01 PM. |

I feel like the only way that I could enjoy Gus more would be if they allowed him to get up when he gets excited and run around (and occasionally pull his shirt over his head like the Great Cornholio when he reaches his "max"). And, obviously they would have to televise it w/ the game, somehow. |
