I'm sure CBS loves their announcer saying the game is over.

Good ole Roy really needs to thank Dougherty for recruiting the guys that got him a title, because I am not sure if he can get one on his own.

I think Memphis would have liked to have seen Kansas over UNC, but now I'm not so sure. I wouldn't count Self finding a way to blow this game

I wonder (somewhat rhetorically) what the longest field goal drought in Final Four history is.

My Mojo is off this year. Memphis was my eventual champion in my bracket, so that might help me out.
My analysis of the final four was WAY off. I felt like both of tonight's games would amount to one team having the horses, and the other having the coach. - I felt like Howland would overcome through his ability, although his team just wasn't as physically talented as Memphis. -I also stated that Kansas simply didn't have the physical ability to take the tar heels. I believed that Self might keep it close, but that they wouldn't get it done. Ooops. I'm pretty sure that Roy doesn't have an answer for what has happened so far. |

The number to watch for was 23 ... which would have been the largest halftime margin in the Final Four since 1951.

if the kansas guys can recharge their batteries (which I presume they can do) during halftime, this one could get really ugly.
despite their run there at the end of the half, UNC doesn't look very good. I think the run was due more to KU's poor decision-making than UNC making plays. |

Yup, KU were starting to force it in the last 5 mins or so which let UNC make a few baskets. All they need to do in the second half is manage the game a little better and it shouldn't be a competition.
UNC on the other hand have just looked horrible from the opening tip. They were having difficulty even dribbling and catching the ball, don't know if it's jitters or what. Can't put too much blame on the coaching for UNC IMO.

And while I'm digging around in the large slow file that is the NCAA Final Four record book ... Memphis 20-23 (87%) performance from the line was the second best ever in a semi-final game (min 15 Att), trailing only Oklahoma State's 21-24 mark against Oregon in 1949. At least five teams have exceeded that mark in the championship game however.

Kansas' defensive intensity has dropped about 4 levels.

Pretty amazing turnaround. It's like this is an entirely different Kansas team this half.

I guess the announcer who called this game over, might want to call some people to tell them there is still a game going. Nice comeback by UNC even if they had a few questionable calls help them.

The best part of that is Billy Packer saying that just as the KU lead hit 28. The moment Billy Packer stops servicing the ACC, it comes back to haunt him.
Gee, Billy Packer looking like an ass an KU on the verge of one of the greatest collapses in NCAA tournament history. Knock on wood but merry Christmas to me. |

UNC really has to keep this under 10, pretty shaky spot here where they can't put themselves in a spot where they need another run to have a chance.

Eh, I disagree. Been plenty of good games IMO. As for Vegas, well, I won't lose any sleep over their lost money.

GE was the one that had that infamous meltdown here? That was one of the most embarassing episodes in FOFC history.

I know you can't blame him for the loss, and he played well enough when Lawson went down, but Quinten Thomas graduates as the only player I've truly hated watching in my 30 years as a UNC fan. He was on the floor when UNC had cut it to 6 and made 2 horrible decisions in a stretch where Kansas was still missing shots and UNC had all the momentum. By the time they got his sorry ass off the floor the momentum was gone. Might not have mattered anyway, but I swear to god the only good thing about this loss is that I never have to watch that fuckhead ever again.
Grats to Kansas, strange game, I'm completely numb, no idea what to make of it heh. I hope Lawson stays. |

Really looking forward to Memphis-Kansas. Certainly wasn't even close to what I had in my bracket though. Should be a pretty interesting matchup. Kansas might have too much height for Memphis, especially if Dorsey picks up a few cheapies, which I'm sure he will against that frontcourt. And hey, I thought UCLA would have too much height as well, so what do I know.
