Went out with friends for the first time in a long while last night. The waitress smiled at me. I fell in love with her.

I think I need to go out more...

With just a little added pressure it'd be all over. You'd think it would be harder than that.

I take it Suicaine's 2015 Random Hand Job Tips Thread was deleted so this ended up here?

Yeah, underrated strategy. Becomes even more valuable the farther out your draft is from the start of the season.

I find it amazing that replacement parts for something from a major manufacturer last made 8 years ago are completely unavailable. Not even back ordered, just plain don't exist.

It really annoys me that we seem to have bought into calling what Serena is doing the "calendar Slam." She's gonna win the freaking Grand Slam.

A reminder of how old I've gotten

When I started in the media biz there was only one "ethnic breakout" a year, a sub-ranking of Black TV Households.

Today we get the release of three, African-American, Hispanic & Asian.

I have been doing this for years. Why waste the two picks when you can get players for trade bait, injury safety, etc.

Best thing about Colorado, almost no mosquitoes.

Went back to Minnesota for a week this summer and got ate alive, was in misery until the itching subsided.

A lot of people with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome who pass it along to their kids (50-50 odds for each progeny assuming only 1 parent has it) get CPS called on them, because EDS isn't all THAT common and people who have it commonly dislocate joints, bruise easily, etc. It gets flagged a lot, even if the parent explains what EDS is (because some people think they've made it up).

I know he has been staying away. I can't recall what the reason was, but I think it's your usual dissatisfaction with how things are sometimes handled here.

But that's just a guess; I don't want to speak for him.

I think if the prosecution in 12 Angry Men made the old man downstairs and the lady across the street merely circumstantial witnesses, rather than eye witnesses, the kid should have been found guilty.

Besides, once the hero pulls out the switch blade he bought as evidence, he would have been removed.

I may finally be able to kick my Diet Pepsi habit thanks to them changing the formula. It's now aspartame free and it tastes horrible and leaves a really bad aftertaste. Probably better for me to quit anyways.

How come you can hold an open bag of chips upside down, and shake and shake and no crumbs fall out, but as soon as you turn the bag right side up, you hear those fucking little crumbs falling back down to the bottom. MOCKING ME!

Time to plop down way too much money on a new washer.

Old one (by old, I mean a whole 4 years, though it wasn't anything near top of the line, and we abused the fuck out of it with 2 kids) took a dump a few days ago. Cracked it open and checked out the error codes it was throwing - yep, motor's shot. I just hope I'm not making a huge mistake caving and getting the "High Efficiency" top loader (fuck front loaders).

Why? I'm curious what the problem with the front loaders is?

the problems i've had are:
  • door repeatedly getting loose
  • leaks (ruining hardwood floor beneath)
  • bad smell

these are things that you simply don't need to deal with for a top loader. i feel like top loaders last several decades whereas front loaders have a much shorter lifespan. but that's just based on my limited experience.

Just ordered another front loader for my new house, wouldn't go any other way. The smell thing can happen but I use liquid fabric softener and leave the door open a few inches after finished and there is no problem with smell.

I think you're the first person I've ever heard say anything good about them within 3-4 months of ownership.

I had a front loader in Italy that literally destroyed itself. I guess it used a concrete/cement ring as a counter-balance, and it got a crack then proceeded to shed large chunks at maximum spin speed. Some of the chunks went through the metal case and broke a porcelain sink that was next to it.

And thus Maximum Overdrive was averted ... for the moment.

My front loader has been great. Usually the maximum™ value is to get the 2nd model from the bottom and go with none of the steam type options

Ours, an LG model, is growing mold around the rubber gasket. We've had the gasket replaced, cleaned the thing up and down, left the door open on it, etc. They are a PITA.

Won't buy a front loader ever again, even if I do save $32 a year in water.

My apartment has a front loader. I haven't even dealt with the major issues you have (outside of smell, I guess, when leaving the door closed), just the little annoyances that come with it...and I'm thankful I had this trial run when I eventually buy my own.

The key for me is just to leave the door open whenever it is not in use.

Black Mirror has turned out to be oddly prescient when it comes to politics.

First, Donald Trump has become a walking embodiment of the Waldo episode.

Now, the British Prime Minister has been accused of fornicating with a pig.

Heaven help us if John Hamm facilitates the murder of a nerdy young man

If you don't see me again, it's probably safe to assume that two days in the car was indeed the death of me. At this point I'd consider death/avoiding trip a pretty fair trade but with my luck I'll endure this hell and THEN drop dead.

Why do sales managers not realize that when your stud salesman that has grown a region 50% in 18 months in a mature industry is someone you listen to when they tell you they do not need help?
