The city seems torn apart, every corner and cafe filled with people squabbling over who's responsible for what. It seemed the Mafia was nearly gone, and yet they're still here, a situation more frustrating for the dashed hopes than the initial oppression had been. At the end of the day the two sides stare at each other deadlocked. No decision can be made.

But this is Atlantic City, and in the end the House makes the call. Furtive phone calls come in, the DA checks his texts. "It would seem our prime suspect in this case is Path12. He will be arrested, and you can rest assured that justice will be done."

Path12 actually looks relieved when they pull him out of his house in the custody of several armed officers. "I haven't dared leave in days," he shouts to a nearby cameraman. A forensics team sweeps the apartment and computers are carted out. Anonymous sources say that detectives have found suspicious money transfers on his accounts, and surveillance video shows several known criminals have frequented the location over the last few days. "Success!" reads an early, premature headline.

Several hours later the DA has held a press conference. "Although there is a great deal of evidence to suggest that Path12's accounts have been used for illegal purposes, it is our belief that this was done without the permission of Path12 himself. he appears to be a victim of the mob, just as we all are. You can be sure we will use this evidence to move forward." Path12 himself volunteers to remain in jail until it's all cleared up. "I feel safer here," he remarks.

Path12 was a Resident who was In the Mob's Pocket

I thought that the only one it could be after Path was mau? Why are you wanting to look at me or CR? Shouldn't we all be voting/scanning mau as he's the only logical choice?

Personally with this being end game I will take any positive result from a seer scan with a pinch of salt. So I'm down with a scan of me - just bear in mind that the wolf demonstably can make multiple bids. Or Coffee and mau are wolves. If that's the case then Jackal has screwed up.

Meh. I've thought of another explanation to what happened on day seven. Great timing after we'd lynched the two people we had cleared.

If you want an explanation that doesn't break any of the rules then it is that Coffee and mau are wolves. Coffee didn't send the prostitutes and mau could have made the kill. With an extra wolf days 3 and 5 don't clear mau. Oh fuck!

Presuming that they would have to be on opposing sides or the game would be over now, presuming they have the night kill (and I don't see any way a wolf doesn't have the kill). If a villager has been lying and has more money then they're letting on and got the hitman then
A) I love you, and
B) don't use it. Obviously.

Presuming mau and Coffee are wolves on opposing sides then I have a question to the one with the kill. Are you sure you have more money then the other wolf after your $1600 outlay? If you're sure then you've won - presuming you don't get lynched on the last day. If you're not sure then you might leave the game with nothing [/Anne Robinson]. It will presumably come down to who has the most money to bid on the wolf-killer or who wins the vote. If you don't use the kill and fess up we'll vote the other one tomorrow and you get a minor win.

Of course if there's only one wolf then you may procede as you were. My money's on it being Coffee. Again.

Before we discovered how it went down, yes. It's pretty apparent the wolves had the ability to force path to purchase and use services. My original theory was sound - path was effectively a bastardized cunning.

I tend toward CW's thinking, that path was the source of the second bids we were saying and unable to explain. With path gone, I would presume we only have one wolf and that that wolf owns the nightkill.

I can't entirely discount the possibility of two wolves, though, since such an occurrence would be a potential alternate explanation for some of the things we have been seeing.

They panned out? Your plan that we should kill all the cleared players because they must be cunning until we have our backs to the wall. Yeah that one worked out perfectly. No I don't have a road map - like you seem to have available at all times. I'm not certain about things - but I am certain that if your theory is correct and the wolves don't have multiple bids then Jackal, Mau and I can't be wolves. So you're barking up the wrong tree thinking I'm a wolf.

It's a possibility. The rules don't say how many wolves there are. Maybe one wolf team has a roled leader. Unlike you I don't know everything about this game. I lost nothing by making the offer, I don't think the village should act on the theory unless anything comes of it before the end of the night.

I have consistently said that this shows that mau can't be a wolf. If there are three wolves left on day five and there are five unexplained bids then Jackal, mau and I can't be wolves. With the unfortunate proviso that DV could have bid on the Casino Manager and not bothered to mention it.

On day three it would be close to impossible for the five wolves spread across two teams to have synchonised their bids so as to get five services. It was pretty impressive that they managed to get four. So mau and I can't be wolves.

If you are both wolves then the numbers are off - mau could conceivably have bid on Donna Black if you bid on the Casino Manager. It's less of a reach that 6 wolves managed to synchonise their bids over 5 services on day three.

I think it likely that Coffee's explanation is correct and Path was used as a proxy for a bid (I believe I actually mentioned the possibility before - but then again I pretty much mentioned every other possibility as well so I'll freely agree that that doesn't say much). I'm relieved to say that I kind of think the possibility of two wolves is out there and the proxy bid is probably saner. I'd like to pretend that I posted all that on the off-chance and because it cost nothing but this game has been running long enough for me to believe any conceivable crap that pops into my head at any given time. But, like I said, if nothing comes of it tonight then it's not anything the village should concern itself with going forwards.

Okay I've been thinking. I think 80% Coffee is the baddy, 15% Chief is, 5% Jackal or Mau is. I hope all villagers have some cash now. If you agree with Coffee and me then you'll agree that one of Chief or Coffee must be the wolf.

Tomorrow we lynch Coffee. Let's say he's a villager. A.N.Other bids on Cookies Ladies and sends them to Chief. Chief can't make a kill - the other two villagers lynch him the day after.

I realise that this sort of plan is going to make everyone suspicious of old narc so whoever has the seer scans me. If the wolf kills me, fine, you'll know I'm a villager. Hopefully Jackal and mau will listen to me and act together for the good of the village. Or he'll take a shot at killing the bidder of the seer. Well, then, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it, depending on how that pans out.

Now you're maybe worried that I am the cunning looking to be scanned. (And you think I'm the paranoid one?

) In that case I am the cunning wolf with double-bidding powers and you should all bow before my superiority as I am the most unbalanced role ever.

Of course if mau or Jackal is a wolf then we're toast with this plan. But if we're honest we're probably toast anyway - whoever it is only has to keep me alive and I'll vote for Chief or Coffee on the last day. So I'll take my chances there.

Another day in Atlantic City. Much of the press has moved on but things are still tense. There's no way you want the city to be known simply for mob murders and bad arrests. you check the paper hoping it's all over.

But it's not yet. Another murder occurred last night, a fellow beat to death. Some of you may have known Mauchow. He loved the roulette table and had a thing for candy corn. But now he's dead, and it seems Atlantic City is still not safe.

Mauchow was a Resident of Atlantic City.

Narcizo Pro Rookie Join Date: Jan 2006	I think it likely that Coffee's explanation is correct and Path was used as a proxy for a bid (I believe I actually mentioned the possibility before - but then again I pretty much mentioned every other possibility as well so I'll freely agree that that doesn't say much). I'm relieved to say that I kind of think the possibility of two wolves is out there and the proxy bid is probably saner. I'd like to pretend that I posted all that on the off-chance and because it cost nothing but this game has been running long enough for me to believe any conceivable crap that pops into my head at any given time. But, like I said, if nothing comes of it tonight then it's not anything the village should concern itself with going forwards.

Narcizo Pro Rookie Join Date: Jan 2006	Okay I've been thinking. I think 80% Coffee is the baddy, 15% Chief is, 5% Jackal or Mau is. I hope all villagers have some cash now. If you agree with Coffee and me then you'll agree that one of Chief or Coffee must be the wolf. Tomorrow we lynch Coffee. Let's say he's a villager. A.N.Other bids on Cookies Ladies and sends them to Chief. Chief can't make a kill - the other two villagers lynch him the day after. I realise that this sort of plan is going to make everyone suspicious of old narc so whoever has the seer scans me. If the wolf kills me, fine, you'll know I'm a villager. Hopefully Jackal and mau will listen to me and act together for the good of the village. Or he'll take a shot at killing the bidder of the seer. Well, then, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it, depending on how that pans out. Now you're maybe worried that I am the cunning looking to be scanned. (And you think I'm the paranoid one? ) In that case I am the cunning wolf with double-bidding powers and you should all bow before my superiority as I am the most unbalanced role ever. Of course if mau or Jackal is a wolf then we're toast with this plan. But if we're honest we're probably toast anyway - whoever it is only has to keep me alive and I'll vote for Chief or Coffee on the last day. So I'll take my chances there.
