Was hoping the Blues would have won that one. The Blues have better fans. Maybe they can swipe game 2.

That was a crazy play. Isn't it a penalty for knocking the net off during play?

This is a tough game to watch. I want to see both teams lose but I would rather see the cheap shot artists knocked out first. Then maybe the Islanders can handle the Penguins.

I didn't know Ovechkin was such a complete player. I haven't seen many Capitals games, but that guy does it all.

This series looks like it could go 7.

To be fair, I watched the whole first round series and two of the Pens/Caps games thus far and OV is working his tail off. That gif is hilarious but I don't think you are going to be seeing that from him this year.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that the winner of this series takes the Cup.

I agree. He's a different player, but that gif should never die.

Yeah, that was during the Hunter regime. There's no excuse for it, but he's been a completely different guy effort wise under Trotz.

One of the shocking things with the Caps is that Trotz was the first coach with NHL experience for Ovi.

Have you not watched any Western Conference finals? SJ, Dallas, STL are all teams who could potentially take out Pitt or Wash.

I think it's been an amazing playoffs this season. In seasons past I haven't been as thrilled to sit down and watch games. This season, I am watching them whenever they are on if I can, if not I am checking updates constantly.

Lightning win a game in OT after a high check that clearly seemed to concuss the player in the receiving end. The NHL has got to sort this shit out

Two things I hated about that play. Mostly was the hit. The other thing was the offside rule change.

It was 100% a legal hit. Boyle got him in the shoulder first.

It is either going to be the Blues in 5, or the Stars in 7. Dallas needs to sort their goalie situation in a hurry.

No different than what Schenn got suspended for.

The Blues really screwed up last night. You had Dallas on the ropes and you let them back up. Crazy how fast a game can swing the other way. A bad pass in your end leads to a goal and then a stupid penalty allows Dallas to tie the game. Lehtonen was huge... not liking where this is heading.

Sharks played a heckuva game last night, but missed a few too many opportunities. I don't really like the call on the goal being disallowed in OT, especially since he was cross-checked in the back into the goalie, but the Sharks had plenty of other chances to win that game.

Need to protect serve at home now.

Blues/Sharks WCF would be glorious. Fun fact, Blues made a bunch of Stanley Cup Finals in their early years back when there were just two divisions and no conferences and of course, got blown out.

So they're looking for their first-ever conference title. Of course, the Sharks also have never made the Stanley Cup Finals despite being around since the early 90s.

It wouldn't be bad for the Predators were in the Finals either.

Such a brutal trip through the playoffs. I can't imagine the players who win the cup, what their bodies must feel like after they come down from the high of winning it all.

Lightning up 3-0 and they start doing the fancy shit that seems to get them in trouble. Save it for the 3rd period!

Lightning certainly seemed to have the easiest road to the Conference Finals but all credit to them minus Stamkos and Stralman.

Still think they will get housed by whoever wins the other matchup.

I'd be happy with all 4 teams in the West but I like the Blues and Preds the most. Guessing it'll be Blues/Sharks though.

The Official 2016 Stanley Cup Playoff Thread

The Stars turn to chase a goalie in this series. 3 goals in the first 16 minutes.

Blues crapped the bed in the first period. How do you NOT come out with fire in a home game with a chance to send a team home?

Which Blues team will show up Wednesday?

Close to overtime for Nashville's playoff life. Thought it was over when the Sharks went up but a nice job no panicking and picking up the equalizer.

Think I can call this one. Good to see the cheap shot artists eliminated. First time in recent memory that I can remember wanting the Penguins to beat someone.

Congrats the to Blues. They came out ready to take it to the Stars tonight. 6-1 is a severe beat down.

HUGE win for the Blues considering the Sharks really took it to them in the 2nd and 3rd periods.
