using john and al as references is like asking a cat to tell you about Jesus.

Could anyone else see that fumble coming a mile in advance? The whole return just had that "fumble" feeling.

Which one where they said they're calling phantoms?

I've watched the whole game except for the first 1 or 2 plays of the half and I never heard them say that.

and, fwiw, even if they missed one, the Pats secondary has still been called for a ton of legitimate ones.. if you're going to nitpick one, just.. well, give me a break.

He meant John and Al, the guys sitting on the couches next to him. Calling them by their real names of Sully and Duffy would have given it away.

Uh, you're the one who actually said not a single one was questionable. If you're going to say it then expect to be pointed out when you're wrong.

The phantom call was on Vrabel, byt the way.

Talk about a momentum killer. We had to get 7 points there. And getting none was brutal.

I just love how the most accurate kicker in NFL history (statistically speaking) gets such a bad rap.

Yeah, thought I saw every play, but I don't remember one on Vrabel at all... I will admit I came to the PC at the second half and probably missed it..

But my overall point is Fozzie is making it out like the refs are just handing the game to the Colts with their "incompetence". If that call was bad, then I would say it's one of just a couple of bad calls - and none desperately bad - in the game. Yes, a couple of have gone the colts way, but only one (it sounds like, I missed it) call on the secondary was bad. If nothing else, the illegal contact that got Belichek all pissed in the end zone should have been interference.

He'll always be remembered for some spectacular misses (Pittsburgh, Miami). Shame really, he was a great kicker, his mouth got the best of him.

See - more mauling from the New England secondary. This is what they're trained to do, they're just actually getting called on it for a change.

I'd agree that the Colts got jobbed on that call. All in all, I would say the calls have slightly disadvantaged the Pats but have made very little difference, if any in the game.

So far, the keys have been an incredible catch by Harrison and a lackluster Pats offense.

Man, I hate to say it but Brady is stinkin' it up right now.

I can only hope this ends up being the classic example of Peyton getting the stats but Brady winning the game.

i commend the colts for trying to run, but do something than run up the middle on first down, then passing for two downs... i think they know its coming.

The Pats always hold like this on defense when they play the Colts... the only surprising thing tonight is that the refs are actually calling them!

After watching the Skins game today, I was commenting that Aikmen would easily be the best color guy in the NFL right now if he would just freakin' be willing to make committal arguments. What I mean is like for instance in this game - on the early flag in the end zone when Bellichek when crazy - Madden said something like, "I don't know what he's complaining about, the question is just whether it's illegal contact or interference - no question there was a flag". On the same play Aikmen would say, "Bellichek is complaining, idano, it looked like it might be contact to me, but he knows his football" or something...

But his analysis, imo, is the best out there.

I like, "The best thing would be a touchdown, the worst thing would be a turnover." I like Madden, but that is not really insightful commentary from a HOF coach.

My favorite is "Well, the best case scenario is a touchdown, the worse is a turnover". That, and he liked to say 'wham' alot.

that late hit penality was MORONIC. The ref hasn't whistled the play dead. The refs are HORRIBLE!!!

Again, whatever. He got his cheer at the beginning. He's now kicking for the opposition team in the 4th quarter to go ahead by two scores. I guess they should be cheering him?!?.

Everybody would be shaking his hand after, including me, but not kissing his ass during the game.

I'm all for the booing. I get on the "he's a traitor" bandwagon with my teams... I'm a Red Sox fan and would have booed him in his first trip to Fenway...

Watson must have glue on his gloves. Jeez! Pats are (surprisingly) still quite in this. A TD here and then a stop of Manning and they can totally take it.

there's a flag!
