Eh, Balldog, you've been around here long enough that I already know we'll have a good rivalry going! I drove you out of New England in the eNFL, and I'll drive you out of Columbus in the BBCF!

(Speaking of, does this league have a name? Does it need one?)

Yeah, very cool interface. The budget splitting is a very good idea, and looks quite simple to manage.

I'm pretty certain that I won't have the time for this one anymore, so someone else can lay claim to Florida.

I've got the list updated with the latest claimings.

Also, it appears that the beta testers will soon be notified. When the beta begins, hopefully we will be able to start a beta MP league.

If you go to Grey Dog's website, there is a link on the left to request consideration for being a beta tester.

Q: On what type of scale are player's ratings going to be on?
Arlie Rahn- There are four ways to view ratings for each player: a scale of 1-100, 1-20, 1-10, and invisible. You can choose and switch within single player games The commish would decide in multiplayer games, but he can change whenever he likes. So, maybe on April 1, he will send out a file with no ratings .

Any ideas on which one we should choose? My vote is for 'invisible' but maybe we can decide that once the game is out and we play around with it?

Quote:
Q: How is the playoff structured?
Arlie Rahn- The playoff is a 16-team tournament that goes until a final championship game. The defaults are for all 11 conferences to get an automatic bid, but this can be configured in the starting database (when you create a league). So, there's a good chance many of the at-large will get seeded above some of the lower auto bids.

Q: So, can you limit that down to only the major conferences getting a bid on league creation?
Arlie Rahn- Yes, you can do that.

Any ideas? I feel like not all the conferences should be included. Maybe it can depend on how many human teams are in each conference, i.e. if the MAC looks full, we might want to include that, but if the Sun Belt is empty we might not want to bother.

Quote:
Q: Can the firing option be turned off for online leagues?
Arlie Rahn- Yes, firing is something that is configured when you begin a league

I'm a huge proponent of having firing ON, especially since we aren't full. If someone gets fired from a high-prestige job, hopefully that lets another coach move up, and the fired coach can find a job somewhere else.

This will probably be one of the first votes we have. My initial leaning is to go with invisible as well.

I like the idea of having all conferences with at least one human teams have an automatic berth. To me, it would encourage someone to take a Sun Belt team.

We'll have to see how this works. I like the way we do it in Radii's FBCB league. But there are over 300 college basketball teams, versus 117 football teams.

Those all sound good, cartman. I did notice you said something about enticing people to take a Sun Belt team. I've noticed that no one's done that yet, though. My worry, though, was the conferences would start to become much more equal in talent, like in TCY. But it's probably best to just let a team from each conference in there, so that winning the conference actually means something.

How is it done in Radii's league?

The way we do it is that the fired coach has the option of staying. Since we don't have a waiting list, and there seems to be a bug with expectations almost never decreasing, it seemed to be a fair way to handle things.

But we already have quite a few alternates listed for several of the teams in this league, so that approach probably won't work for us. We'll have to see what will be the best way to handle fired coaches.

Of course, if Arles has Hawaii's roster playing like they are in real life I probably wouldn't win a bot filled WAC.

I would like to have the conferences bids like in real life as we have it in the FOFC FBCB league, not limiting it to the conferences with humans, and i agree also about firing ON so we can have a real world moving around us, with coaches changing teams etc.

FYI Icy, cartman's thrown real life out the window when he decided to do playoffs, and not a bowl system.
