I think the Lions could've drafted Williams as a ploy to get Jacksonville to cough up even more.

A bunch of morons...

Ok, here is hoping the Falcons use their pick on DeAngelo Hall and NOT on Harris.

Getting a second round pick from a team to move up a spot, drafting a potentially stellar receiver to team with another one, with a good quarterback with potential to be a Pro Bowler? Not bad to me.

You're missing the biggest differences:

1) The draft commentary, which is apparently the gospel truth
2) San Diego is west of the Rockies, which means they suck

Get a clue.

San Diego had a bad year, and Manning is perfectly entitled to not want to play there. However, I don't think they are as bad as people are making out on this board.

They also just got a sweet deal by getting the player they really wanted, and a few good draft picks as well.

As long as you play Football. Fargo is a pretty decent size city that has an alright nightlife. They really follow the NDSU Bison, especially football with the former Nebraska D Cordinator taking over the program and his first victory being over highly rated DIAA Montana. They could really use a DB or two too.

Although Fargo does have a large Mexican population, a large ethnic African(2 of the colleges do exchange programs), and a huge middle eastern population(Lutheran Social Services), so it is pretty diverse in that way, but as for Black Americans, they are few and far between and a decent percentage are former athletes at the local universities.

The old people here generally are scared of the mixture, but with the large amounts of schools in the area, race issues hardly ever come up. The exception is the fighting between the ethnic Africans and Middle Easterners. They like to have huge brawls in the parks and occasionally shot at each other. The migrant mexican works can be difficult at times, but the residents are fine. You do also have the hick whites who hate the diversity and cause troubles. Overall it is good though... Come play for the Bison. And my Flag Football team who went 4-7 and are the 7 seed in the playoffs. Shock the world baby!

Unless Kevin Jones slips to the second round, I can't see the Lions taking a RB with one of their 2 picks. They may go with Perry (I hope they don't). I could see them drafting a linebacker with one of the picks and hopefully take a player who slides out of the first at a position of need: TE or G.

I think they could package the 2 second rounders (#4 & #5) and a 4th rounder, and then trade up into the teens to draft Jackson. It could happen.

Yeah, Marvin was only a 1st round pick. It's not like the expected anything of him. The Colts also had a defense (not stellar but not totally crappy) while the Bolts don't.

Reggie Williams?

Come on Houston, TRADE WITH THE BILLS!

Texans have a nice spot now. Pittsburgh will definetly get Roethlesberger if he is still there. Houston is before them, but will not pick a QB, but definetly will be willing to trade that pick.

Hey, I'm a former Jets fan... I've known a lot of disappointment on draft day .

I still have a soft spot for the Jets, but since moving I've adopted the Falcons and an tickled pink with their pick so far .

This is great for the Vikings. There is bound to be a good DL when the pick.

Yes, but what is to prevent the team(s) behind them from getting that DL causing the Vikings to lose him .

Here's a thought...

Now that the Chargers have 2 1st Rounders next year, there's a supplemental draft, they take Mike Williams with a 1st rounder (they get first crack at him) and would still have a 1st (the Giants pick) rounder...

They get Rivers + Mike Williams in that trade.

Is the order of the supplemental draft the same as the order of the regular draft?

Sort of, I guess everyone submits blind bids but ties are broken based on the original 04 draft order. So Chargers and Raiders both say they'd use a 1st round pick on Williams, the Chargers get him cause they had the #1 overall in 04 draft.

By the way, Mike Williams dropped his suit, so there won't be a supplemental draft for him, unless the NFL starts feeling uncommonly generous.

I don't think who filed matters. A supplemental draft would be open to all players who were 'unfairly' barred if the courts rule that way.

Doesn't matter that Williams dropped his suit, Clarett still has his suit and is awaiting a final decision from the US Court of Appeals. The stay was only so they wouldn't be in the regular draft (the NFL wants to maintain their rule), it doesn't mean there still may not be a supplemental draft.
