You know I wasn't thinking the first time I answered this. I couldn't begin to guess how many you lost at the end of the current year. I'm pretty much just focusing on you guys and ignoring the rest of your team. I pretty much just took a quick look at players that were leaving to see what kind of talent your schools were losing. I know Virginia lost some 90+ players, but I couldn't even say what side of the ball they played on.

So far this has been a pretty wierd season. Collectively you guys have pulled off some amazing upsets and lost some expected blow outs.

And it isn't just the new players, more than a few times they have cut last year's players. I may not be a freakin football genius, but I know to not dump a freshman All-American who made a dramatic improvement in training and keep some fuckin loser RS senior who has no where near the skills. I'm going to try a few more times, but I may have to end up holding some people over to next year. Since Shorty didn't have these problems with his larger group of players, I am assuming this must be an Xbox version problem. I am about fed up with EA's half assed attitude towards getting their products done properly before release. I wish developers would start boycotting their greedy ass. Right now it would take a damn miracle to get me to buy one of their products again (unfortunately, I'll forget next time something catches my eye).[/rant]

I am worried about this in my dynasty, even tho I am using the PS2 version. I know I had created Greg Olsen, the TE and put him on Miami, but they cut him after the 1st year, so I don't know.

So we end the season with a loss to VTech and then we beat them in bowl. Awesome!

I guess you don't know what is then. It was decent, no better. If you knew how to find the end zone or at least had been able to get a decent yards per carry average I would have possibly agreed with you.

I have a feeling you are using statistics and my overall play to judge my abilities on the field. I just can't agree with this. I am a super stud.

It is kind of buried back in week 16. Only Kevin Gunn was a Freshman All-American. I had expected MrBug708 and JeeberD Mack to be selected as well, but I was wrong. I'll double check on it a bit later to be sure, but I am about to 100% as you can get without being there on this. I think the reason the offensive guys got overlooked is that they didn't score much or in some cases even get the ball much. Breeze just didn't see much playing time. With his spot on the depth chart he was only in when they used the dime package. In JeeberD Mack's case, I am just confused as to why he wouldn't get it. He was #12 in Bednarik voting, it would seem that if he qualified for that, he would qualify for Freshman All-American.

Yeah, it was a nice bit of revenge. Hopefully your line has solidified this season and you have a replacement for your Heisman candidate HB that graduated.

I'd like to point out that rushing for 1,000 yards in college is nice but not exactly super stud. Now throwing for 3000+ is a different story

Since I was having so many problems with this recruiting class last night, I don't have anywhere near as much information as I would like to. I will just list basic information about the recruits and where they committed to.

How long did you expect to get away with that crap? Of course you were going to end up as a starter. I don't think Minnesota plays the kind of football that your best suited for though.

Before I start the second season is there any other information people want to see included in my reports? Any information you don't want to see? Do you have any other input for making this more enjoyable?

Man, why couldn't Notre Dame cut me all those times? I don't like ND...I like Purdue. Ah well, guess I'll have to dominate the Big-10 and make them sorry they ever cut me.

On a side note, how do you edit the recruits?

There is a create-a-recruit option so you don't have to edit them.

Ok, I must've totally missed that in NCAA 2004...where is it located? When is it available?

The same menue as rosters. Features is what I think it is called. It is up all off season, but you can only use it before you advance from the departing player phase.

Ah, never looked there then. I'll have to do it next off-season.

Thanks

You were good last season and frankly I don't think you replaced the talent you lost, even if Ohio State had the top incoming class. Ohio State (and Oklahoma) lost a lot of high end talent at the end of last season. Plus the Big 10 looks like it will be a tough conference this year, Michigan and Pudue were strong contenders last year and they did around as well as Ohio State in the top class rankings from the early runs before I gave up on tracking that stuff. Ohio State could well be looking at #3 in the Big 10 again this year. I am sure that the starting Ohio State HB will almost automatically be a Heisman contender and if a few breaks go your way and you win the games you should, Ohio State could win a national championship. I know that's a pretty wide range there, but I really thought they were going to win it last year until they choked on back to back weeks. If this years team has the heart that last year's team was lacking they could grab the title. The same could be said for a few other teams as well, and they are also facing similar situations in replacing their Heisman candidate HB's and conference opponents who probably had a very good recruiting class.

Ohhhhhhhhh baby, primary backup at every LB position, with a little DT and SS thrown in, this is going to be fun.

Kind of interesting to see the results from the trials too. Can't even press more than 300, but can squat over 700 and the best vertical leap, got me some strong legs to drive tackle with

I honestly think you should be starting at OLB. You may be an 85 MLB, but at OLB you are a 90+ (93 I think).

It will be a tough road. The replacement for your Heisman candidate HB is mediocre, if I remember correctly your junior (RS) QB has never player a down for good reason, and the rest of your offense follows along the lines of those two guys. Your defense looks killer though.

Good luck. Frankly, if you put up the kind of numbers you will need to for Minnesota to win this year you deserve to get it.
