It seems like every couple of weeks or so, someone comes on the board and asks if FOF2006 and/or TCY2 are coming out this year. I thought I'd just sticky this sucker, and the next time there's new info, just update the first post.

Okay.....well I am going to go with the conspiracy theory that you have some inside information that will soon be revealed to us and that is why you stickied this sucker. If you are beta testing the game, you better give us some hints in a way that is not breaking any NDA. I hope this comment is in the spirit of this thread.

And why do I feel like I am trying to crack the Da Vinci Code everytime I read a post from Solecismic?

The real truth is its to apply the strong-arm to Jim, so that everytime he visits the forum he too gets excited that there is a new announcement only to be disappointed, ultimately deciding that it is time for an announcement.

Alright conspiracy theorists. I posted in this thread yesterday stating that TCY2 and FOF2006 were in production and scheduled for release in September 2006. I also stated that Jim would not deny this so it must be true.

Interestingly, that post was mysteriously deleted. Hmmm . . . .

Contact info?

I'd be interested in learning more about this game and maybe buying it, but I can't find any contact info on their website. There's no phone number, address or even email. That's rather odd and makes me suspicious. Can someone help me out here? I did download the demo, which I'm about to install.

The company is located in Nigeria... it'd be a long distance phone call. You're better off just making the purchase online, and not worrying about it.

maybe because I don't trust buying something over the internet from a company with no phone number or address listed. you might, but I sort of like to know it's a real business with real people. you buy something on Amazon or yahoo or a million other places, you've got an address and phone number.

For Jim's sake I apologise for the previous post: don't want to scare off a potential purchase.

There is nothing to worry about: the very fact that this board has so many members, so many posts about the game should be reassurance enough for you?

Don't forget longevity as well. I've been a customer of Jim's games since early 2000.

Umm it's sold through e-license (viatech), if you really wanted to contact them look through elicense.com

Kind of stupid to come to a community with almost 5000 (and easily 1500 purchases minimum of said game) members and hint that the game the forum is based on might be a fraudalant company though.

I don't know how many people are here. All I wondered is how to contact them. It's odd that they have no contact info on their website. I have heard good things about the game. But when I found its website, it didn't look like something that inspired me to purchase. I came here looking for info and reasons to buy from experienced users, not to be insulted for asking. I think it's reasonable to wonder. The internet is full of scams, and how would I know how many are here?

Yeah... I'm thinking that the special brand of customer service that FOFC dishes out isn't gonna help Solecismic too much.

Anyhow... contact the programmer, Jim Gindin, here via PM (his ID is Solecismic). Or read the FAQ page at solecismic.com: http://www.solecismic.com/faq/index.php

Quote:
Can I ask additional questions about the games?
Absolutely. But please read this F.A.Q. completely and check the game's help file (press F1 from any screen) before sending your questions. If you are reporting a bug, please make sure you have the latest patch installed before writing, and please include details about your computer, your operating system and the version of the game you are running.
Our email address is support AT solecismic.com. Please do not send file attachments, as email with attachments will automatically be deleted before we read it. If your question is about the installation of the game or about the electronic licensing, you'll probably get a much faster and more accurate answer from ViaTech (support AT elicense.com).

Good point. In fact, that's probably the first good point from anyone named George W Bush.

Thanks for the welcome. Wow, what a great community. I come here looking for assurance that my purchase is a wise one from those who've bought, hoping to learn the pros and cons, and I get abused. Thanks a bunch. see ya!

hey Runner does have a legit point though. I love Jim and his games are top-notch, but when I first visited the website it scared me off buying the game for a good period of time (couple months at least).

You might've wanted to read the FAQ while you were trying to be inspired by the site, but as stated the email to contact is there - and also as I said , the only way to contact the 'sales' area by phone would be through Elicense, as Solecismic doesn't get any of your personal informations (credit cards ect) through the purchase.. It's all ran through Elicense.

If all you wanted was assurance, that's what you should have asked - instead of 'maybe you buy someone without knowing, but I don't , I'm very suspicious'.

People have bought 5 different versions of the game spanning several years, including two versions published through Electronic Arts, which FOF use to be affiliated with. Eventually Jim (the games only developer) decided to go back to releasing the game independently through his site, and now through elicense which also deals with dozens of other reputatable companies selling their products via electronic distribution. I've never once heard of anyone being ripped off of their money by purchasing any product from them.

This dude is probably a troll. If he's not, then I apologize. But people have acted similarly in the past and then tried to say the community was bogus, and it was just cause they had an issue or something.

The thing that confuses me is that a simple Google search could have proven that Solecismic is a legit company. What good is the company address going to do?

The funny part is any company that was bogus would make sure to have an address and phone number, even if phony, so as to appear legit. Basing a decision on this is not too bright. That said, the reaction to his question seemed harsh.

I've been in such a sports sim lull lately.

I want the good 'ol days when Jim would announce his next sim and we'd have a Q & A about the game.

I would sit at work thinking about how I plan to take the Rams back to the Super Bowl, wondering how hard it would be, and dreaming about the new features.

Lets go Jim!

This sounds good: Front Office Football 2006
