About to head out to El Paso for the Miners-Jayhawks game. I'm not feeling quite as good as I was before last week's loss for the Miners, but the Miners handed Buffalo the game on a silver platter and all of the mistakes the made are correctable. We have the talent to hang with Kansas, I believe, but it's going to come down to if we have the desire and discipline to do it...

LOL, if they bench Hawkins are they gonna take that guy's shirt again? Seems pretty stupid to do that two years in a row. It's probably best to just suck it up this year, instead of wasting another year of that guy's eligibility. It's not like a better QB would have helped them against Toledo. When a MAC QB is outrunning your secondary, then you've got bigger problems to fix than your own QB spot.

Isn't it disgusting to see Florida play 2 cupcakes in a row before a real opponent comes along?

Way to get off to that impressive start Florida, shameful.

Couldn't hardly care less frankly. They're doing what any smart team in their situation would do.

Exactly.

I don't like the system but don't blame Florida. I bet Oklahoma wishes they played North Texas last week.

UNC ties UConn at 10 late in the 4th. UConn lost a lot last year, and is weak particularly at QB, but apparently they could still be decent and go bowling. UNC was incredibly inconsistent last year, and on top of that lost their 2 huge playmakers.

Wisconsin winning 24-21, but Fresno State has the ball at their own 40, with 1:21 left.

And UConn starts at the 20 and goes -20 yards in 2 plays. Holding in the end zone, safety, 12-10 UNC. UConn has recovered the onside post-safety kick though, and gotten all the way to midfield. Backup QB is in.

Almost time for Michigan-Notre Dame. It's weird - I'm excited for the game, but unless it's a blowout one way or the other it won't tell us much about either team. They're both better than last year, but playing each other won't help anyone figure out by how much.

Central Michigan went for two to win the game and missed.

Wisconsin just scored a TD on first possession of OT.

That was stupid for Central Michigan to go for 2 there.

State played like shit. Hopefully they'll show up next week against Notre Dame.

And I've decided what I don't like about college OT is that it gives too much advantage to the team who gets the ball 2nd.

Fresno State turnover in 2nd OT. Wisconsin just needs a FG in their possession to win.

What a fucking screw job that game was. Stanford didn't lower the hammer when they had WFU on the ropes in the second half, but the refs just reamed Stanford twice at the end. First, when Stanford has the ball with about 4 minutes left, Toby Gerhart runs for about 30 yards inside Wake's 25 yard line, and it's called back for a clip that never happened.

Then Riley Skinner never even gets into the end zone, they call it a TD. Stanford challenges, and after less than 10 seconds of review, the ref comes back and says "After review, the ruling on the field is confirmed". Bullshit. Just come out and tell the truth that you couldn't see anything, and just decided to save face.

I hate having the the team go across the country to these sweaty redneck towns, forcing me to wake up at 8:30 on a Saturday, only to watch the team fall apart in the second half, and have that compounded by some absolutely garbage officiating. Just play UC-Davis at home next time. At least if we lose, I can sleep in.

Man, UConn came close to knocking off 19th ranking UNC. To lose on a holding in the end zone... uck. Though I wonder how it would have turned out if the starting QB for UConn hadn't gotten injured in the 3rd Q.

It's okay Karl, Wake is surely disappointed they let a left coast team stay that close to them at home, so they probably aren't much happier with the game than you are.

Wake Forest blows, Jon. They already got beat by Baylor at home. Stanford lacks the depth the finish the deal, much like last year. They absolutely dominated WFU on both sides of the ball in the first half, and then Grobe actually made some nice adjustments on both offense and defense, and Coach Harballs didn't show his trademark "Enthusiasm Unknown To Mankind", but rather played it close to the vest, which was obviously a huge mistake. The offense was on the field for about 12 seconds the entire second half, and the defense got tired in the sweat hole that is Winston-Salem. The LB's were abused by the Wake Forest running backs, and Riley Skinner showed himself to be a good leader.

Stanford should take care of business next year on the farm, but after this second half I'll remember to not take anything for granted. Which, after GT's second half showing against Clemson, you should be familiar with.
