2014-2015 Pacific Roster Report
CENTERS 12 Stephen Sanderlin C Fr 6' 9" 233 Teachey, NC Stephen is the only center on our roster, but that does not mean he gets the start. He is a great guy to have come off the bench because he is great at scoring and a very good rebounder. The problem here is just a mediocre defense, which keeps him from starting for now. POWER FORWARDS 25 Horace Mathon PF Jr 6' 7" 243 Chatham, Canada Horace gets the start at PF this year, and has been so since he came to campus. He gave us 13 points and 7 boards a game last year and I think we can expect even more scoring from him this year. You cannot overlook his defense either. It is extremely good. 13 Gonzalo Wheeler PF So 6' 8" 243 Frimley, UK Gonzo gets the starting Center job this year. I gave it to him thanks to his awesome defense in the paint. He is also a very accomplished rebounded. His offense is not quite up to par right now, but the potential is there and the overall package is very good. SMALL FORWARDS 4 Andrew Payne SF Sr 6' 9" 239 Asotin, WA Payne has a year of starting experience, which is a very nice luxury to have coming off the bench. Although he is a SF, he plays big and will backup not only at SF, but at PF and even C. 23 Mickey Lawyer SF Jr 6' 7" 252 Great Falls, MT Mickey averaged 10 points and 5 boards a game as the SF last year and will get a chance to reprise that role again this year. Very minimal improvements across the board tells me we probably won’t see much improvement on the stats, but the defense should be a little tighter. 34 Gregory Woolley SF Fr 6' 6" 217 Grand Junction, CO Greg is a red shirt this year. 0 Gregg Feltner SF Fr 6' 7" 223 Newport Beach, CA Gregg is also a red shirt this year. SHOOTING GUARDS 15 Quentin Holtz SG Jr 6' 7" 209 Orinda, CA Quentin has never gotten any kind of consistent playing time yet, so we will try to work him into the rotation and see what he is capable of. My concern is turnovers…he seems to have a real problem turning the ball over. 22 David Gehring SG So 6' 3" 209 Tunnel Hill, GA David averaged almost 11 points a game in under 17 minutes of playing time last year. I think he is ready to make the next step and I give him the starting SG job this year. POINT GUARDS 3 Trent Saavedra PG Sr 6' 4" 220 San Gabriel, CA Trent is probably the best pure point guard on the team, but because his defense is just so terrible, even as a senior, he is a backup. 41 Jules Jasso PG So 6' 0" 176 Fresno, CA Jules is getting the start at the point this year. He is not as good as Trent at ball handling or passing, but his defense is very good and that alone gets him the job. If that was not enough he has a very dangerous jumper that he brings to the floor. 2 Joseph Maas PG Fr 6' 1" 186 Soldotna, AK Maas is an extremely solid looking player for a true freshman. I will be trying to get him some decent time backing up the point. Outlook: I like this team a lot. I think they have the potential to go far this year. Our two big guys are both terrific defenders, and together provide a lethal scoring and rebounding machine. Lawyer, Gehring and Jusso have a combined 33 starts among them, but all have played great off the bench and if they can do that full time, we have a top team here. Top 25 Code:

Things started to get ugly when we dropped two of three games in the preseason tournament. In both losses we got lit up by a SF so I decided to make a move. I benched Lawyer in favor of Andrew Payne, who has better perimeter defense, but his post defense is just a shade lower. Then I had to make another move. We lost to Nebraska, who was 0-8 at the time, and their center ripped us a new one. Our center, Gonzo Wheeler plays great defense, but I wondered if playing him out of position limited his effectiveness, so I moved Sanderlin to the starting spot and I will give Gonzo great minutes off the bench. Code:
The team is a two man show of the inside outside duo of Gehring and Mathon. They, along with our overall defense will decide how this season goes. Code:
The only really concerning thing is the defense, and it has taken some forward steps since at one point we were in the 200’s. Fouls could be a problem, but there is not much I can do about that. We picked up 1 more recruit: PF Manuel Snapp, from Paramount, CA, has committed to Pacific. Manny is a 4 star recruit and ranked #39 overall. Code:

January Recap

This Big 10 schedule is a real grind. There are no easy games on the schedule at all, evidenced by the loss to UNLV, and the buzzer beater loss to Michigan State, team both in the lower half of the table. We had some great wins this month though: a sweep of New Mexico, Illinois and Ohio State Victories. We had the advantage of playing a majority of games at home so far though, and we need to show we can win on the road as well. We currently stand in second place, and Iowa is beating everybody right now. Code:

Slowly, but surely, the defense is getting better and better as we go along. Rop 25 Code:

We won our first ever Big 10 regular season title this year! It took some big time wins on the road at Iowa and at Indiana to get it done. Surprisingly, those teams beat us on our floor, but we were able to split the series by beating them on their floor. We had just enough to win the League Title by 1 game. We are the #1 seed in the Big 10 Tournament. Code:

March 13, 2015
(1) #13 Pacific (20-9) vs. (9) New Mexico (19-12) There is some incredible depth in the league when the 9 seed has 19 wins. They almost had 20, but Andrew Payne hit two free throws with exactly 30 seconds left on the clock and our defense held to give us a 68-67 quarter final victory. Payne finished with 11 points. Mathon was the leading scorer for us with 16 and Gehring added 14. Code:
March 14, 2015 (1) #13 Pacific (21-9) vs. (5) Indiana (17-13) This was almost a a carbon copy of the first game. This time we had to come back from a 5 point deficit, but with 33 seconds on the clock Sanderlin hits two free throws to give us a 1 point lead. We tack on another free throw later and come out with a 82-80 victory and advance to the finals. It is great that the two guys who started the year on the bench, both made a pair of free throws late in games this post season to get us the win. Code:
March 15, 2015 (1) #13 Pacific (22-9) vs. (2) #11 Iowa (24-6) At the half, the score was tied at 46, but the second half was all Pacific, and we had our first ‘easy’ win of the post season. More importantly, it got us the Big 10 Tournament Title to go along with our Regular Season Title! Code:

Post Season
Despite all the success, we are still only a 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Our first round opponent is Penn and the 4 seed in our bracket is Butler. March 20, 2015 (5) #11 Pacific (23-9) vs. (12) Pennsylvania (23-8) Penn tried to hang with us, and they did a pretty decent job until we went on a run late in the first half to pull out to a 41-32 halftime lead. The second half was more of the same and we were able to ease off in the last 10 minutes and take a 83-65 victory. Gehring led the way with 25 points. Saavedra added 19 of his own (playing in place of the injured Jasso, which I think I did not mention). Payne and Lawyer combined for 25 points at the SF position. Code:
March 22, 2015 (4) #25 Butler (22-10) vs. (5) #11 Pacific (24-9) This game was over pretty quickly. Our defense came out with a purpose and just locked down on the Butler shooters, holding them to just 23 points in the first 20 minutes. At halftime we led 39-23 and the second half was just academic. We are back in the Sweet Sixteen!!! Payne led us with 25 points today. Gehring added 17 and both Mathon and Saavedra scored in double figures. Code:
March 26, 2015 (1) #1 Kentucky (31-4) vs. (5) #11 Pacific (25-9) Well, if we want to move on we have to beat the best team in the country and the tournament favorite. It is a huge mountain to climb, but I feel we have a fighting chance! We came out of the gates and hit our first 3 shots, all three pointers, to take a 9-3 lead. Kentucky came back and took an 11-9 lead and then we traded baskets for a bit. With the game still close, Kentucky put the full court press on and got a few easy layups off of steals and watched us panic and throw the ball away numerous times. We fell behind by 14 points before rallying late in the half to cut that lead in half. The halftime score was 47-40. The first 55 seconds of the second half saw Kentucky bomb two three pointers and a layup off another steal to go up 55-40. They hit two more baskets after we called a timeout and it looked finished for us, with the score 59-40. But then we woke up…. In the next 5 minutes we went on an amazing 17-5 run and cut their lead down to 64-57 with still over 12 minutes to play. After that, Kentucky’s three point shooting stretched their lead out but Andrew Payne hit back to back three pointers to close the gap to 76-68 with just under 10 minutes to play. We are hanging in, but need one more big run. We start to put on a little press of our own and it turns into a quick 5 points to cut the lead to 78-73 with exactly 8:30 on the clock. We pretty much trade baskets for the next few minutes and with about 4 to go, Kentucky leads 89-83. Kentucky gets the next basket to go up 91-83, but we go on a mini run capped off by a chance for an old fashioned three point play at the 2 minute mark. Mathon rims out the free throw though and we trail 91-88 with 2 minutes left in the game. It is just a 1 possession game at this point. Kentucky milks the shot clock on their next possession and they are forced to rush up a shot which they miss, but they are able to come down with the offensive board and we immediately foul them. They retain possession and we get lucky with a 3 second call and get the ball back with 1:05 on the clock. Kentucky goes for the steal but they foul us and we are in the 2 shot bonus, with barely any time coming off the clock. Gehrig nails both free throws to make it 91-90 with exactly 60 seconds left. We come out trapping and pressing and Andrew Payne gets a steal with 35 seconds left in the game! We are running a 3 on 3 fast break and Payne delivers to Gehring who goes up, and is fouled with 29 seconds left! He only hits 1 of 2, but the game is tied at 91. Again we are pressing full court and trapping after they cross the time line. With just 6 seconds left Kentucky drives to the hoop, but Gehring is right there for the steal! We have a 2 on 1 break. Gehring feeds Mathon, he goes up, the buzzer sounds…….93-91 PACIFIC WINS!!!!!!! What an amazing come from behind victory. Two steals in the last minute of play gave us the 3 points we needed to win! (5) #11 Pacific (26-9) vs. (6) #14 Mississippi State (26-8) We catch a huge break as Miss St. knocks off the 2 seeded Oklahoma State Cowboys, who we are deahly afraid of. We have a really legit chance to get to the final four here today. Same format as the Kentucky game, I will watch and report the game as it goes. I hope you can get a feel for it this way…. In the first 5 minutes we play pretty sloppy, turning the ball over a few times with bad passes and traveling calls. At the 15 minute mark we trail 12-7. In the next 30 seconds we apply the full court press to shake things up and generate three straight steal and 3 easy layups to take a 13-12 lead. Over the next 6 minutes of the game, our defense does a great job on them, and our offense hit’s a few buckets and we run out to a 30-20 lead with about 9 minutes left in the first half. Over the next 5 minutes we keep the intensity up and extend our lead to 47-33 with under 4 left in the half. They are able to chip a few points off the lead thanks to us missing a few front ends of the one and one, but at half time, we lead 53-42. Just 20 minutes from the promised land. Thanks to some good three point shooting, Mississippi State cuts deeply into our lead in the first 6 minutes of the second half, and now our lead is just 58-53. Over the next 4 minutes, they keep the pressure on and whittle away our lead, down to just 1 point. It is 65-64 with exactly 10 minutes to go in one of these team’s season. Over the next three minutes, both offenses go cold, until Payne and Gehring nail back to back three pointers to put us up 71-64 with 7 minute to play. That could be the turning point in this game. In the next couple of minutes they go on a 6-2 run to cut the score to 73-70 with 5 minutes remaining. Crunch time. We call a timeout and Saavedra comes out on a set in bounds play, gets the bucket and the foul. He converts to give us a 76-70 lead with under 5 to play. They respond with a 2 point basket, but Saavedra comes right back and hit’s a long range three to put us up 79-72 with 4 minutes left. We trade baskets over the next minute with some high octane offense from each team, but then Gehring fouls out of the game and they convert a 3 point play to make the score 84-80 with about 2:30 left in the game. Our leading scorer can only watch now. The next basket comes at the 90 second mark and it is a fast break layup by Miss. St. to bcut the lead to 2 points at 84-82. We milk over 30 seconds off the clock on our next possession but our shit is blocked and they come away with it. They work the ball inside but miss a pretty easy layup and we grab the rebound with 38 seconds left. We again try to milk some time off the clock, but they are trapping us and Payne throws the ball away with 18 seconds left. They get the ball, but Saavedra takes a huge risk and it pays off big time. He gets the steal and goes in uncontested for a layup! That is your ball game, Pacific wins 86-82 and we are in the Final Four!!! Holy Cow! Code:

(1) #3 Texas (33-4) vs. (5) #11 Pacific (27-9) Texas is the big favorite, not only in this game but to win the whole thing. We don’t care, we are ready and we know we can win as we knocked off another #1 seed in Kentucky already. Same format….. It takes us over 2 and a half minutes to get our first points, but luckily they only got one basket as well and the score is 2-2 early on. Overall, in the first 9 minutes of the game we play about as sloppy as possible. 5 turnovers and 4 fouls in the early going see us trailing by a 19-10 score. Over the next three minutes we hit a couple of three pointers and take some free throws to cut the lead down to 22-21 a the 8 minute mark. We seemed to have settled down now. Holtz comes out of the media time out with a long range three point shot which he hit, and is fouled on! He completes the rare 4 point play to give us a 25-22 lead! Over the next few minutes both teams play solid ball, but Texas gets the better of us and the game is tied 32-32 with 3:30 left in the half. We outscore them by 1 the rest of the way and take a 38-37 lead into halftime. Texas gets the better of us in the first 5 minutes, pulling out to a 10 point lead, but we come back with a nice run and only trail 54-51 at the 15 minute mark. The next five minutes sees Texas just put on a show, capping it off with a three point shot to give them a 68-55 lead and complete control of the game. We have just 10 minutes to rally. The next three minutes sees Texas just put this game away by dominating us all over the court and opening up a 81-61 lead. We are all but finished now. We start gunning up three pointers to make the final score look closer than it really was, but we lose 89-78 in what was not a close game in the second half. Code:
Texas goes on to win the National Title. Wisconsin wins the NIT. AWARDS David Gehring was named to the Big 10 First Team. Stephen Sanderlin was named to the Big 10 Freshman team. He was also named Big 10 Freshman of the Year! Season Stats Code:
Code:
SENIORS Trent Saavedra Code:
Andrew Payne Code:
Outlook: The core of this team will be back next year: Sanderlin at Center, Mathon at PF and Gehring at SG. Saavedra took over the point, but Jasso started the season and should be just fine as the starter next year. We lose our SF, but have a capable backup and 2 highly touted freshman who red shirted last year. I think we have the team that can make a return run to the final Four.

Great way to display the games. I usually go a page down at a time through the info, but I made sure to use the down arrow to go a little bit of the way so my eyes couldn't wander down to the final outcome.

Off Season Recap
Our prestige is at an all time high now. 75! The AD considers me a legend of college basketball coaching. He would still be happy with just a Sweet Sixteen Appearance. My coaching skill shave improved to 75 across the board. Our recruiting class was ranked #22 in the country. Indiana had the #1 ranked class. Our entire coaching staff left us this year. One guy retired and the other two took head coaching jobs at Eastern Washington and Illinois State. Here is our new staff: 53 year old McKinley Luker is our recruiter. He is rated 73. 34 year old Ethan LaGasse is our scout. He is rated 71. 36 year old Sam Mobley is our assistant. He is rated 61 on offense and 68 on defense. We accept an invitation as the #5 seed in the Maui Shootout. We wrap up our OOC schedule with a couple games against better teams than we have been scheduling and a couple against worst teams. It will all balance out in the end, plus we have a brutal conference schedule as always. We have 4 scholarships to offer up this year, but are not able to pick up any recruits in the early signing period. David Gehring has announced he will be departing after this season, his junior year, for the NBA draft.

2015-2016 Pacific Roster Report
CENTERS 12 Stephen Sanderlin C So 6' 9" 234 Teachey, NC Stephen became our starting Center midway through the year, and helped us get to the final four, but once again this year he will start the season out on the bench, but will see a lot of time backing up both the C and PF spots. He is our number one backup there. POWER FORWARDS 25 Horace Mathon PF Sr 6' 7" 245 Chatham, Canada Horace becomes a four year starter, as he once again gets the call at the PF spot. His offense and defense is pretty much as good as we can get. His rebounding is average. Not great, but he can help out. 13 Gonzalo Wheeler PF Jr 6' 8" 245 Frimley, UK Gonzo gets the start at Center to open the season this year. What we lose on offense from Sanderlin, we more than make up for on defense and on the boards here. 4 Frederic Binder PF Fr 6' 9" 221 La Villa, TX Fred gets a red shirt this year. 24 Manuel Snapp PF Fr 6' 8" 250 Paramount, CA Manny also gets the red shirt this year. SMALL FORWARDS 23 Mickey Lawyer SF Sr 6' 7" 254 Great Falls, MT Mick started in his sophomore year, and once again gets the start at SF this year. Post defense and 3 point shooting are clearly his strong points. He is a versatile player, inside and out, but has some holes in his game that the opposition may exploit. 34 Gregory Woolley SF Fr 6' 7" 218 Grand Junction, CO Greg has the kind of potential that says he will be the man….next year. He will see very limited playing time as the second backup at SF this year, but he has some nice point skills, so that is where we might see him in a backup role more often. 0 Gregg Feltner SF Fr 6' 7" 223 Newport Beach, CA Gregg’s defense may keep him out of my rotation for quite some time. Don’t expect to see much of him this year. SHOOTING GUARDS 15 Quentin Holtz SG Sr 6' 7" 216 Orinda, CA Q is going to see a nice chunk of playing time off the bench this year. He is a highly skilled player, but just doesn’t top the starters we have. He will get a lot of his time at SF since our starting SG is going to see a ton of minutes. 22 David Gehring SG Jr 6' 3" 211 Tunnel Hill, GA David is leaving after this year, and we hope he makes the most of his final season. Of course, he gets the start at SG. POINT GUARDS 41 Jules Jasso PG Jr 6' 0" 176 Fresno, CA Jules will get the start at the point this year. He started 24 games for us last year but was benched late in the season, and never got his starting job back after an injury. I think he is plenty good enough to pull it off for us this year. 2 Joseph Maas PG So 6' 1" 193 Soldotna, AK Joe’s defense will hold him back, but his offense and point skills are great, and that makes for a pretty decent backup. Outlook: I feel this team should be just as competitive as last year. Whether we create the lucky breaks we got last year to win the Big 10 Regular Season and Post Season Titles, along with a Final Four Appearance is yet to be seen. A year like last year is pretty impressive and even harder to duplicate. We have the potential to get there though, and that is all I can really ask for. Preseason, we are ranked #4. Code:

November and December Recap
Code:
Code:
Pretty solid start to the season. Our first loss came in the first game out in Maui, be we ended up going 2-1 out there. The loss to Clemson was a bit of a stunner, but sometimes those things happen. Better now, than late in the season. The Big 10 looks strong, but not quite as strong as in previous seasons. We are the top ranked team at #10. Usually there are 2 or 3 top 10 teams here. Code:
Gehring is giving us everything and more than we could have hoped for. Mathon, the same. We knew those two guys were the foundation of the team, and they are not disappointing. Lawyer is having a very solid season at the SF spot, and Jasso at the point is also doing great. His offense might get to over 10 per game by season’s end, but the 7.3 assists per game is phenomenal. Our combination under the basket in Gonzo and Sanderlin is working out pretty well. Sanderlin comes off the bench and is doing a terrific job in just 17 minutes per game: 7.5 points and over 6 boards in that little amount of time is excellent. Wheeler is cleaning the boards with almost 10 per game and playing excellent defense. The bench is a bit thin with Holtz the only real dependable guy. I consider Sanderlin a part time starter, but I guess you could call him a bench player too. Code:
As much as I emphasize defense, these guys don’t care. They just want to run and gun. I guess if I did not focus on Defense, we would be 250+ in the nation. We picked up 2 recruits so far, but we are still struggling to get some Centers in here. PG Kendall Brown, from Rialto, CA, has committed to Pacific. He is a 4 star recruit and ranked #37 overall. Code:
SG Reno Seagraves, from Russellville, AL, has committed to Pacific. He is a 4 star recruit and is ranked #36 overall. Code:

(2) #10 Pacific (22-7) vs. (10) Illinois (16-15) We had no problems here, blowing out Illinois 85-64 to advance to the semi finals. Gehring is fine tuning his game, as his college career is winding down. He finished with 32 today. Jasso had 14 points along with 12 assists! Code:
March 12, 2016 (2) #10 Pacific (23-7) vs. (3) #20 Temple (22-7) I had figured on a huge challenge here, but our defense took care of Temple with ease and we took an easy 69-53 victory into the Big 10 Finals! Gehring put up another 26 points and Mathon had 12 points and 12 boards. Gonzo had 17 rebounds for us. Code:
March 13, 2016 (1) #9 Ohio State (23-8) vs. (2) #10 Pacific (24-7) The top two teams go at it for the title, just the way it should be. When all was said and done, there was no question as to who the Big 10 Champs were. Ohio State just crushed us, dominating from start to finish. The final score was 100-66. We’ll deal with it and focus on the NCAA tournament now. Code:

Post Season
Pacific earns their highest seed ever in NCAA play. We are the 3 seed in the Midwest. Our first round opponent is Illinois State, and the winner of BYU and Nevada await us in the second round if we avoid being upset. March 18, 2016 (3) #10 Pacific (24-8) vs. (14) Illinois State (20-11) We have no problems handing this Midwest school. The game was over at halftime when we led 45-26. We called off the dogs and cruised to a simple 75-46 victory. Gehring put up 28 points today and Lawyer followed up with 13 of his own. Code:
March 20, 2016 (3) #10 Pacific (25-8) vs. (6) #15 Brigham Young (24-7) BYU is similar to our team a few years ago it seems. High national ranking but a lousy seed comparatively. We need to focus here or we will become another in a long line of March upsets. BYU played a great first half and took a 34-31 lead into the half, but our much maligned defense came through big in the second half, holding them to just 19 points in the final 20 minutes. Our offense did the rest and we are back in the Sweet Sixteen with a 70-53 victory. Gehring went for 24 points and Mathon had a dozen. These are the guys we need for the next 4 games. Code:

(3) #10 Pacific (26-8) vs. (2) #6 Gonzaga (28-5) So we have a battle of two current heavyweights that came from similar west coast mid major back rounds. May the best team win. In the other half of our bracket is #5 Florida and #9 Purdue. A win here opens up the road to the Final Four. Same format as last year…. In the first 5 minutes of the game we throw up enough bricks to build a house (.182 shooting %), while Gonzaga can hit anything with blindfolds on (.750 Shooting %), and so we trail 14-5 early on. Over the next 5 minutes we start to find our offense and chip a little away from their lead and have the score at a much more manageable 24-18. Right after we cut it to 6, Gonzaga just takes over the game and hit’s a three pointer, a two pointer and completes an old fashioned three point play to extend the lead out to 32-18. We finally answer with a couple baskets, and start to apply a full court press, which leads to 2 quick layups for us, and at the 6 minute mark we are back in the game again with a 33-25 score. They call a timeout after our run, and have a nice set play for three, but we continue to come at them hard and cut their lead further, to 36-31 with 4 minutes left in the half. They call another time out, and come right out with another three pointer. Everytime we get close, they pull away. The halftime score stands at 41-32. Through the first 6 minutes of the second half we are able to create some nice scoring opportunities and convert them, but every time we do, Gonzaga comes back and answers us. At the 14 minute mark, we trail 50-40. Over the next 6 minutes we very slowly shave a few points off their lead, but nothing really spectacular is going on for either team. With 8 minutes left in the game we trail by 6: 55-49. After that it is all Gonzaga. Everytime we come up with a nice bucket, they just launch up a three and hit it. In fact they hit 50% of their three pointers for the game. It started to get out of hand late and we end up losing this one, 74-57. Code:

Outlook: I foresee a tough year next year. We are losing 3 starters, the PF, SF and SG. Gonzo could move to PF and Sanderlin to Center, but that leaves 2 positions to fill and nobody on the bench who has had a chance to show what they can do. Coupled with a couple below average recruiting classes, we might be in for a tough stretch.

wow you've done a great job with this team!
My only complaint with FBCB is that the conference switches don't make any sense. Pacific and Utah State in the Big Ten? It doesn't work. I hope that's fixed in a patch..... Keep up the great work |

I'd like to see it as an option and not totally removed. I don't mind seeing west teams in the Big Ten, but I think the conferences being tied together by region would make more sense to some.

Right now the game does its best to make the changes geographically but how well it works depends on which teams change conferences. I am planning to add a more limited version of the movement which will strictly enforce the geographic ties in a patch.

Off Season Recap
Our prestige went up to 76 this year. The AD still has the same message and expectations of me. Our recruiting class was ranked #21 in the nation. Syracuse had the #1 ranked class. Our entire coaching staff left for greener pastures, so we need to bring 3 new guys on. Here they are: 47 year old Charles Alvarez is our recruiter. He is ranked 75. 53 year old Kevin Saunders is our scout. He is ranked 71. 65 year old Robert Stackhouse is my assistants. He is ranked 58 in offense and 64 in defense. We accept an invitation to the Las Vegas shootout, and then round out our schedule with a few bad teams and a few better than average teams. We have 5 scholarships to offer up this year, and we are lucky enough to get 2 recruits to sign early: C Kelvin Bice, from Ridgefield, WA, has committed to Pacific. He is a 3 star recruit and ranked as the #41 Center in the nation. Code:
SG Antony Rodriguez, from Fort Mill, SC, has committed to Pacific. He is a 4 star recruit and ranked #38 overall. Code:

2016-2017 Pacific Roster Report
CENTERS 12 Stephen Sanderlin C Jr 6' 9" 234 Teachey, NC Stephen is finally going to get to start the season as our starting Center. We could not be any happier with his scoring and rebounding abilities. We can only hope his defense is good enough to get the job done. 5 Tobias McKenzie C Jr 6' 8" 215 Rockville, MD Tobias is actually a walk on but he is a guy we were trying to sign to a scholarship last year. If I remember correctly, he is a 3 star guy and maybe around the #30 ranked Center. He is an emergency backup but has the potential to develop into a decent player for us. POWER FORWARDS 13 Gonzalo Wheeler PF Sr 6' 8" 246 Frimley, UK Gonzo gets the start at PF this year, his natural position. His defense and rebounding are top notch, there are few better than him in the country. He has developed a bit of an offensive game for us as well. 4 Frederic Binder PF Fr 6' 9" 224 La Villa, TX Fred is our top backup at the PF and C spots. He is a terrific talent and should be starting next year. As it is, he will get a lot of playing time this year. 24 Manuel Snapp PF Fr 6' 8" 251 Paramount, CA Manny has a ton of potential, but has to take a seat behind both the starters and Binder this year. He will get his chance in the future though. SMALL FORWARDS 34 Gregory Woolley SF So 6' 7" 218 Grand Junction, CO Greg is going to get the start at SF this year. He seems to be a very solid role player, capable of having some good ngihts, and some great nights, mixed in with a few bad nights probably. Still, overall he should be a solid option. 0 Gregg Feltner SF So 6' 7" 225 Newport Beach, CA Feltner is a nice offensive threat at SF, but lacks the defense needed to start. He will back up Wooley. SHOOTING GUARDS 21 Reno Seagraves SG Fr 6' 5" 208 Russellville, AL Reno is forced into the starting role as a true freshman. I really hate to do that but we have no other options. He should be pretty good though. His scoring and defense are well above average, especially for a freshman. He may well even surprise and be among the team leaders this year. POINT GUARDS 41 Jules Jasso PG Sr 6' 0" 177 Fresno, CA Jules has done a wonderful job as the point guard of this team and we expect him to have his best season yet in his senior season. 2 Joseph Maas PG Jr 6' 1" 197 Soldotna, AK Maas is our main backup at the PG and SG spots. His defense is sorta weak, but other than that, he makes an excellent 6th/7th man for us. 45 Kendall Brown PG Fr 5' 9" 165 Rialto, CA Ken gets a red shirt this year. Outlook: Our top 7 can run with anybody in the country, I believe. We are dangerously thin right now though, so an injury or a bad year from somebody can really hurt us. I have high hopes for Seagraves at the SG spot and would not be surprised to see him come away with a ton of national recogniation. Code:

November and December Recap
Code:
Code:
Not a perfect start to the season, but this is usually how we end up after December. Our first loss came to a very good Wake Forest team in the finals of the Vegas Shootout. The Memphis loss was acceptable, as they are another very good team, but losing at home to Long Beach was just terrible. Both of our guards fouled out of that game, and we had nobody to lead us at the end, and they pulled it off. Code:
Seagraves has come through for us in a big way. As a true freshman he is leading the team in scoring. Sanderlin has also delivered on his potential, finally, in his junior year. 17 points and a massive 13 boards per game is awesome from him. Jasso has been pretty solid at the point. His scoring is up this year, but his assists are down like 2 per game, which is a bit troubling. Wheeler is getting it done on the boards at the PF spot, but his offense is rather weak, and he is being outscored by a few guys on the bench. I don’t mind that as long as his defensive work is solid, which it is. Woolley has up and down games at SF and we have to live with the inconsistency. Code:
We picked up 1 more recruit this month: C Milton Jepson, from Dauphin, Canada, has committed to Pacific. He is a 4 star recruit and ranked #46 overall. Code:

January Recap
Code:
Code:
A very solid start to our Big 10 schedule. We had just that one slip up at Michigan State, and nobody is going to run the table in this league anyway. We capped the month off with a gem of a defensive performance at Temple which moved us into a tie for first place. Again, we had 5 home games compared to just 3 road games, so we have a lot of work to do still. Code:
Code:
There is really nothing to complain about here. The defense is solid enough, fiving up less than 70 per game, and with our offense, that should be good enough to win most games we play. We picked up our 4th recruit this month: PG James Worsham, from Espanola, NM, has committed to Pacific. James is a 4 star recruit and ranked #36 overall. Code:

February and March Recap
Code:
Code:
With only 1 ranked team in the Big 10 to end the year, you can say that the league is having a down year. Just a few years ago we had several teams ranked in the top 10 at one point. Still, that does not take away our accomplishment of winning the regular season title by a full three games and earning the #1 seed. While a Big 10 Tourney title would be nice, this team is focused on getting to the Final Four, which is a very realistic goal for how we are playing. Code:
Seagraves is certainly going to get some national recognition for his play as a freshman this year. Sanderlin has also been a tremendous force in the paint. Jasso, Woolley and Wheeler are the ‘role players’ on this team, and each one is doing their job beautifully. Maas, Binder and Feltner our the 3 main guys off the bench and each has played some very good games for us in that regard. We can usually count on one of them to have a good game every night. Code:
As a whole, these are some of the best numbers we have put up in quite a while. We round out our recruiting class with a fifth recruit, and our first 5 star player: SG William St. Peter, from Davie, FL, has committed to Pacific. Will is a 5 star recruit and is ranked #3 overall in the nation! Code:

(1) #5 Pacific (23-6) vs. (8) Illinois (17-12) Illinois pulls off the huge upset in the first round here. Our offense could not find itself in the first half and we trailed 41-31. In the second half, we could score with ease, but the defense looked lost and we lose this one 90-82. Seagraves led our team with 25 points and Sanderlin had 17 points and 14 boards. I am not going to lose sleep over this loss. Winning your conference tournament is great, but not if it gets in the way of the ultimate goal. Code:

That first round loss probably cost us a seed or two, and we end up as the 5 seed in the Midwest. Our first round opponent is the 12 seeded Colorado team, a dangerous opponent. The 4 seed in our bracket is Notre Dame. March 16, 2017 (5) #7 Pacific (23-7) vs. (12) Colorado (21-10) Colorado played us tight in the first half, only trailing by three. The second half we asserted ourselves better, and Seagraves got really hot, scoring 15 of his 21 points in that half. We pulled away at the end for a 81-72 victory, but it was not an easy one by any means. Woolley picked a good time to have a solid performance. He scored 19 and had 10 boards. Sanderlin and Wheeler each had double digit rebounds and Jasso chipped in with 14 points. Code:
March 18, 2017 (4) Notre Dame (23-9) vs. (5) #7 Pacific (24-7) Despite the national ranking this game looks to be a hard fought, evenly matched one. But despite the looks, it turned out to be a total mismatch, and not in our favor. The Irish’s stellar defense put the clamps on us in the first half, and after 20 minutes we trailed 46-33. It was too much to overcome against such a solid team and we lose this one 84-73, falling way shot of our goal this year. A tough ending to such a solid regular season. Code:

Thanks John. I never have a problem recruiting deep at one position because with quality players like this it is inevitable that some of them will be leaving early, and others can play multiple positions.

Off Season Recap
Despite the quick end of our season in the NCAA Tournament, our prestige took a big jump. We are now at 81. No change in directive from the AD. In fact, he has approved an upgrade of our training facilities, which will be ready for next season. Our recruiting class, as expected, was ranked #1 in the nation. Another first for little old Pacific! All of my coaches, just hired last year, remain for another run. We accept and invite to return to Vegas for the Invitational again this year. We will be the 3 seed. With the rest of our OOC schedule, I get three real big time programs to come to our place, and then with the rest of the games I schedule half cupcakes and half average, solid programs. We will have 2 scholarships to offer this year. We are not able to get any early recruits.

2017-2018 Pacific Tigers Roster Report
CENTERS 12 Stephen Sanderlin C Sr 6' 9" 236 Teachey, NC Stephen gets the start at Center is his Senior season, of course. His offense and rebounding is just phenomenal, and we expect a double double just about every night from the big man. 5 Tobias McKenzie C Sr 6' 8" 217 Rockville, MD Tobias is the second backup to the C and PF spots, but I have no problems with him on the court. He is a great scoring threat, and plays a solid defense. 44 Kelvin Bice C Jr 6' 8" 227 Ridgefield, WA Kelvin gets a red shirt this year as a JUCO transfer. 35 Milton Jepson C Fr 6'11" 316 Dauphin, Canada Milton also gets a red shirt this year. POWER FORWARDS 4 Frederic Binder PF So 6' 9" 223 La Villa, TX Fred steps into the starting lineup at PF and brings one heck of a great game to the floor. Offense, defense, rebounding….you name it, he does it as good as any power forward in the land. He is truly a big upgrade at this position from last year. 24 Manuel Snapp PF So 6' 8" 253 Paramount, CA Manny plays great D and has a nice offensive game inside. His defensive rebounding lacks a bit, but he is plenty good to be our main backup in the paint at C and PF. SMALL FORWARDS 34 Gregory Woolley SF Jr 6' 7" 218 Grand Junction, CO Greg holds onto his starting job thanks to his better than average defense against both big guys and smaller guards. His offense is OK, and he is capable of a big game every once in a while. 0 Gregg Feltner SF Jr 6' 7" 225 Newport Beach, CA Feltner is going to be a big contributor off the bench with his incredible offensive game. He will be able to come in and provide a nice scoring spark for us. SHOOTING GUARDS 21 Reno Seagraves SG So 6' 5" 204 Russellville, AL Obviously, Reno gets the start again at the SG spot. He had a tremendous year last year, and only projects to get better as he gets older. I was afraid this would be his last year, but he will be back for at least his junior year as well! 33 Antony Rodriquez SG Fr 6' 2" 178 Fort Mill, SC Antony gets a red shirt this year. 10 William Stpeter SG Fr 6' 1" 186 Davie, FL Will is our highly touted freshman and he will see time as the backup to Reno this year. When his skills start developing he is going to be lights out. POINT GUARDS 2 Joseph Maas PG Sr 6' 2" 199 Soldotna, AK Maas gets the start at the point this year. Not that he isn’t a great player, but this is probably our weakest position, as we don’t really have a lockdown defender who can play the point on offense as well. Maas will be solid, but I don’t see great things from him right now. 13 James Worsham PG Jr 6' 2" 176 Espanola, NM. James is the defensive backup at the point. 45 Kendall Brown PG Fr 5' 9" 168 Rialto, CA Ken is more of the offensive threat backing up the point. We will use them depending on the situations. Outlook: What we lose at the point this year, I feel we make up for at the PF position. Add to that a ton more depth than we had…I feel comfortable with everyone on this team getting on the court, we have high goals and even higher hopes this year. Code:

We had just that one slip up this year so far. We lost the second round game outing the Vegas Invitational, but then took care of business all the way through the end of December, mostly with ease. Also, the Big 10 looks to have come back very strong so far this year. We have 4 top 10 teams and 2 more in the top 25. It is going to be brutal every single night when league play begins. Code:
Well, Seagraves has been a bit disappointing thus far. Despite his 17.5 point per game, he has struggled to get there, and had a few big games that upped his average. For the most part he has been scoring in the low teens only. Of course, that could be due to the much more balanced scoring we have going on this year. Sanderlin has been amazing at the center spot, leading the team in points and rebounds. Over 14 boards a game is amazing. Maas has been better than expected and Woolley is holding his own at the SF spot. Binder has been struggling a bit at PF…we did expect a lot more out of him this year, but Snapp has been coming in and doing a fine job in backup duties there. Feltner is also rock solid off the bench. Code:
Everything looks pretty good here, and the RPI of 9 might be the highest we have ever been. We picked up 1 recruit: PF Freeman Lynch, from Manti, UT, has committed to Pacific. He is a 4 star recruit and is ranked #24 overall in the nation. Code:

The start of our league schedule could not be any tougher. We go on the road for 3 games, and all three teams were ranked in the top 10 when we played the. Purdue, our only win on the 3 game stretch has since dropped down to the 20’s, but still a tough team. We came out of the stretch 1-2 but have not lost since and we are in good shape. Now we just need to knock Ohio State off a couple of time. Code:
We are really getting solid production per minute played all the way down our lineup right now. Code:

I think last season I was quoted as saying nobody would go undefeated in Big 10 play. I was wrong. Ohio State is the best team in the league. We only got to play them once, but they took us out on our home court. Other than that game, what I am seeing is the best team I ever fielded. We have a ton of depth and every starter is capable of leading the team. Code:

(2) #6 Pacific (25-4) vs. (7) Illinois (18-11) Illinois upset us in the first round of this tournament last year, and we meet again under the same circumstances. This time we made sure things went our way with a 52-31 halftime lead. They made a good effort to come back in the second, but we take the game 87-81. Sanderlin was the star of the game, scoring 28 points and grabbing 12 boards. Seagraves added 21 points of his own. Code:
March 10, 2019 (2) #6 Pacific (26-4) vs. (11) Temple (13-17) Temple had dreams of running the table and getting to the NCAA Tourney after two straight wins here, but we put an end to that with a nice 75-59 victory. We set up a showdown with Ohio State. Binder led us in scoring with 16 points, but Seagraves had 15 and Sanderlin added 14 with 12 boards. Code:
March 11, 2018 (1) #4 Ohio State (26-4) vs. (2) #6 Pacific (27-4) Ohio comes out and proves for the second time this year that they are the #1 team in the Big 10. They lay an old fashioned beating on us, 103-78 for the title. Code:

Post Season
Pacific earns their highest NCAA seed ever. We are a 2 seed in the Midwest Region. Central Michigan is our first round opponent, and the winner of Connecticut and Miami-Ohio would await us in the second round. March 15, 2018 (2) #5 Pacific (27-5) vs. (15) Central Michigan (17-14) This was pretty much your classic first round NCAA mismatch. We led 46-29 at the half, and then really pulled away in the second half with a 82-50 victory. A little worrisome is the fact that our only starter to score in double figures in this game was Sanderlin, but he had 31 along with 11 boards. Snapp had 12 off the bench. We basically got a lot of guys in the game, but our shooting percentage was not great either way. Code:
March 17, 2018 (2) #5 Pacific (28-5) vs. (7) Connecticut (21-14) Wow, Uconn at a 7 seed is very dangerous. They have already won 20 games this year, and are historically a tough out in the tournament. Once again they prove to be a tough out. They fell behind by about 6 early, but stuck right with us the whole way. From start to finish they never trailed by more than 9 points. Sanderlin and Seagraves led us to the 6 point victory though and a spot in the Sweet Sixteen! The final score was 81-75. Code:

Sweet Sixteen
March 23, 2018 (2) #5 Pacific (29-5) vs. (11) Oklahoma State (20-16) Well, we caught a break here, but was it a good one or bad one? On one hand instead of a 3 seed, we get to play an 11 seed. On the other hand, it is Oklahoma State, the holder of the record for most final Fours in this dynasty. We’ll see what kind of break we caught as we go down to the court for the tip off. The first 5 minutes of the game is pretty ugly. The teams combine for 10 turnovers, and we committed 3 fouls. The score was just 6-5 in favor of OKST. The next 5 minutes are not much better. OKST is up to 10 turnovers and we are up to 6 along with 7 fouls already. The score is 14-13 in favor of them. At the 8 minute mark, Seagraves hits his first bucket of the game, a three pointer, that spurs a 7-0 run and we pull out to a 24-18 lead with 7 minutes left. Both teams settle down for a few minutes and exchange a few baskets and three point shots. With 3 minutes left in the half, we lead 35-29. The refs just let the Cowboys back into the game before halftime, calling a total of 14 fouls on us. Everytime they had the ball we heard the whistle. As a result, they whittled our lead down to 40-38 at the half. Sanderlin has 3 fouls and Seagraves has 2. The first 5 minutes of the second half sees some accurate shooting by both teams, matching each other shot for shot. We hit 2 three pointers in a row and take a 51-46 lead with 15 minutes to play. The next 5 minutes sees us slowly, very slowly creep out to a bigger and bigger lead. As the clock begins to tick down under ten minutes, we are up 10, 65-55. For the next few minutes, our lead ranges from 6 to 9 points, but right at the 6 minute mark, they nail a deep three point to cut the score to 72-68. We need to hold on for just 6 more minutes. We maintain that same lead for the next two minutes. Their PF fouls out of the game with 11 points and we lead 78-74 with just 3:03 left on the clock. Both teams miss their next two shots, and it looks like they are going to start giving some fouls. Seagraves hits two free throws with 1:55 left to extend our lead to 80-74. They get the ball and our defense forges a jump ball, with the arrow pointing our way. They expect us to milk the clock, but instead we take it to the hoop and get a quick and easy 2 points to go up 82-74! They call a time out and set up a three point shot, drain it and now the score is 82-77 with 1:24 left. They foul right away and we drain both free throws. They fail to score, we get the ball back, milk the clock, hit a basket and pretty much lock this game up. The frustration is evident on the OKST sidelines as the bench is hit with a technical foul. The game ends and we come out on top, 88-77! Code:

(1) #2 Texas (32-4) vs. (2) #5 Pacific (30-5) There is not much to say here. A battle of two heavyweights for the right to go to the Final Four and play for the National Title. The first 5 minutes of the game sees some pretty solid fundamental basketball and some decent shooting. Texas takes the very early 11-10 lead. The lead flip flops back and forth, neither team taking more than a 1 point lead, until right at the 10 minute mark, Texas completes a layup plus one. They hit the free throw and take a 22-18 lead midway through the first half. Things start getting a bit out of hand over the next 5 minutes. Turnovers are killing us all of a sudden, we have 8, and we get a technical call after a regular foul. They drain all 4 shots and take a 38-28 lead with 5 minutes left in the half. We are just shooting ourselves in the foot right now. By halftime we are down 47-33. We were whistled for 14 fouls in the first half alone. We had 8 turnovers and are -4 on the backboards. We need to turn this around and stage a big comeback. The foul situation turns around in a hurry, as they are whistled for 7 fouls in the first 5 minutes of the game, still we are only able to chop a few points off the lead and trail 52-43 with 15 minutes to play. Still, the foul situation could be a big boost for us. In the next 90 seconds we go on a nice little spurt, taking it right to them and continuing to draw the fouls. With over 13 minutes left we are in the double bonus and only trail 52-46. Sanderlin hits a jumper a minute later and it is 52-48 with 12:30 left. He hits another baseline jumper a minute later again and now it is 52-50 with just over 11 minutes left. We now have a new ballgame! As the clock ticks under 11 minutes Worsham steals the ball and starts the break. The ball gets kicked back out to worsham and he drains the three pointer to give us a 53-52 lead! Texas calls a time out to regroup, and they come out a little more settled down. The teams trade baskets for the next few minutes, also trading the lead back and forth and with 7 minutes left, Texas leads 59-58. Over the next couple minutes Texas asserts themselves and goes on a little run to open up a 66-58 lead. Just that quick, we now have another hill to climb. We call a timeout and start pressing Texas. We come up with 3 quick hoops to cut the lead down to 68-64 with just under 4 to play. We dodge a bullet when they press us get a steal and then blow the wide open layup. In frustration they foul us, and we hit 1 of 2 to make the score 68-65 with 3:03 left. They start trying to milk the clock a nit and do it very successfully as they keep grabbing offensive rebounds and kicking it back out with a fresh clock. We finally hold them and get the ball back with 1:40 left on the clock, and down by three. We bring the ball up and a quick release from Seagraves from NBA three point land is nothing but net! This game is tied at 68 with 1:13 left to play! Texas gets the ball, and Maas commits the foul trying for the steal. They go to the line for the 1 and 1. They only get one, but take the 69-68 lead with 1:01 on the clock. We work the ball around and go to Woolley in the post, he goes up for the shot, but is hacked hard. He will go to the line for 2 with 40 seconds left. He calmly drains both shots and we now lead 70-69. Then, disaster. Woolley is called for an off the ball foul and he goes nuts. He gets called for a technical foul! Lucky for us, they only get 2 points out of the deal. They take the lead 71-70 but we get one last chance with 11 seconds left. Unfortunatly, we never are able to get a shot off as Binder throws a pass away and out of bounds. The final score is 72-70, and this one hurts bad. Code:

Off Season Recap
Our prestige rose again, we are now at 85. Still no change in directive from the AD. Our recruiting class was ranked #14 in the nation. Texas had the #1 ranked class. Once again, all three of my coaches left us, so we need to restock the cabinets. Here are the new ones we bring in: 52 year old Jasper Tran is the recruiter. He is rated 83. 54 year old Jimmie Tharp is the scout. He is rated 80. 49 year old Hunter Pitman is the assistant. He is rated 24 on offense and 91 on defense. Obviously, we are trying something new here. We are invited to a pre season tournament, which we accept, and we fill in our schedule with a wide range of opponents. From top of the line to bottom of the barrel. We will have 3 scholarships to offer up this year. We are able to get one early signing: PF Marc Hernandez, from Mesquite, NV, has committed to Pacific. He is a 4 star recruit and is ranked #20 overall. Code:
PF Manny Snapp has announced that he will be leaving school early.

2018-2019 Pacific Roster Report
CENTERS 44 Kelvin Bice C Jr 6' 8" 231 Ridgefield, WA Kelvin is a pretty good player, but we decide to go in a different direction for our starter. Bice is a solid defender and rebounding machine, but his lack of offense makes us look elsewhere. He will be our top option off the bench for both the C and PF positions. 35 Milton Jepson C Fr 6'11" 316 Dauphin, Canada I love Milton’s potentials, but right now he is a bit further down the bench and will only play sparingly. By next year, I think he will be seeing some good playing time. POWER FORWARDS 4 Frederic Binder PF Jr 6' 9" 226 La Villa, TX No doubt about it, Binder gets the starting call at PF again. His numbers last year were less than what we thought we would see from him, but our scout rates him very highly, so we are going to give him another shot. I just hope he is not turning into the next George Haile. 24 Manuel Snapp PF Jr 6' 8" 255 Paramount, CA Manny is leaving school after this year, but for this one year, he gets the start at Center for us. He scores at will, and is a terrific defender in the paint. I think he and Binder give us an incredible 1-2 punch down low. SMALL FORWARDS 34 Gregory Woolley SF Sr 6' 7" 218 Grand Junction, CO Woolley again gets the start at SF this year. He is a solid role player type guy here. His defense is very solid all over the floor and he has a very sharp three point shot, as well as a few low post moves. 0 Gregg Feltner SF Sr 6' 7" 227 Newport Beach, CA Feltner is the main backup at SF and will probably see a lot of minutes (12-18?) per game. He provides a nice offensive punch off the bench. SHOOTING GUARDS 21 Reno Seagraves SG Jr 6' 6" 212 Russellville, AL Reno had a down year by his standards last season, but we put him right back in the starting lineup and hope he can get to 20 points per game for us this year. I had him pegged to leave after 1 or 2 years, but he has declared he will graduate from Pacific in 4 years with a full degree! 10 William Stpeter SG So 6' 1" 187 Davie, FL St. Peter is going to be a terrific guy off the bench. If it wasn’t for Seagraves, it would be a no brainer to start Will. Since Seagraves will play a lot of minutes, Will will split his playing time at the PG and SG spots. 33 Antony Rodriquez SG Fr 6' 2" 180 Fort Mill, SC Antony really looks as good as the other 2 SG’s we have on the roster. His lack of experience pushes him down the line though. Remember his name, because it is just a matter of time before he becomes an impact player here. 30 Antoine Fremault SG Fr 6' 3" 198 Talence, France Antoine gets a red shirt this year. POINT GUARDS 13 James Worsham PG Sr 6' 2" 178 Espanola, NM James is an extremely solid point guard, but the defense just never developed enough for him to become a starter. We are so deep at guard, I have no idea how much we are going to use him right now. 45 Kendall Brown PG So 5' 9" 170 Rialto, CA Kendall gets the start at the point. Even though Worsham has slightly better point skills, Kendall is the better defender, so we go with him. We are not going to play him a ton, since we are so deep. 41 Freeman Lynch PG Fr 6' 0" 177 Manti, UT Freeman is a red shirt this year. Outlook: I’ll take our starting 5 against anybody in the country. Our depth at the guard spots is so incredible, I feel bad that I won’t be able to give all of those guys 20 minutes. Honestly, every one of them can start on this team, they are all that good. Our depth at SF-C is not as good, but we do have some solid guys there off the bench. I think we are as good as last year, and can make as good of a run, or hopefully better. Preseason, we are ranked #4! Code:

Another great start for Pacific. The highlight of the season so far was a 18 point pasting of Duke, who was ranked #3 in the nation at the time. The only loss came to a good Butler team out in the Rainbow Classic Preseason Tournament. That was a second round team. I should stop going out to these tournaments, as I always seem to lose a game, but I guess they are good practice for the guys. Code:
Seagraves is our leading scorer as expects, but he really has not shown much imprivement since his senior year. I guess he came to us already peaked out. Not that I am complaining about 18 points per game. Snapp has been a great scoring option at Center, and he is actually doing a better job on the boards than I had thought he would. Binder has also been better at PF this year. His scoring and rebounding averages are both up by 2-3 per game in each category. Woolley and Feltner are making a serviceable team at SF, combining for a 16 point average. Brown, Worsham, and St. Peter combine to form a pretty darn good platoon at the point and backup SG spot. Code:
I think it is obvious that no matter what we do, our defensive numbers will never be great out here. Other than that, things are looking very good for us. We picked up another recruit this month: SF Julius Rooker, from Rocky Ford, CO, has committed to Pacific. He is a 4 star recruit and is ranked #15 overall. Code:

Talk about a wake up call. We get pasted in our first two conference games, and then lose two more towards the end of the month, one of them being a home game. Our foul problems from the tournament last year at killing us right now. In just about every game, and certainly every loss, we have numerous guys with 4 and 5 fouls. I tried lowering all the starters playing time since we are so deep, and we beat a good Purdue team (top 25) without any foul problems. We’ll see in the next month if that is asolution to our problem. Code:
