Well let's get it started.

Ohio State takes a 7-3 lead over Michigan early 2nd quarter
Kentucky leads UGA 7-0 and driving again late 1st quarter
GT 7-3 over UNC early 2nd quarter
FSU 21-3 over Maryland early 2nd quarter
(Terps still need 1 win to be bowl eligible, either today or next week vs NCSU)
Missouri gets a 99 yd KOR to extend their lead to 14-3 over K-State mid Q1

No such issues here. I'm rooting for Ohio State, just like I do every time these teams play.

Illini are taking care of business against Northwestern so far. 21-0, with Juice Williams rushing for 7 first downs and having a pair of TD runs. Northwestern has been hurt by penalties, but really haven't shown an ability to stop the run. The last Illini drive was 16 plays and covered 97 yards.

Oh, and Andre Ware is crazy for suggesting J Leman as the Big Ten POTY. I'm guilty of wearing orange-colored glasses from time to time, but that statement is pretty crazy. His stats just don't support it, even if he has been a very good LB.

And the Wildcats answer with a TD drive, now 21-7 with 2:35 left in the half. I would like to see the offense put up some more points before half to see if they can demoralize Northwestern going into the half.

Four straight losses to Northwestern (ugh, there is a stat I just hate) leave me more nervous for this game than I would like.

Wow. K-State gets a complete gift non-call on a pass interference on 4th and 2. The play after they take over on downs, they get a 60 yard run for a TD to make it 14-10.

Florida back in control, 28-13 over FAU, 5 mins left Q2
GT now 10-3 over UNC, under 5 mins left in the half
Kentucky 10-0 over UGA very early in the 2nd qtr
FSU 21-6 over Maryland in the 2nd
KSU back to within 14-9 vs Missouri, 66 yd TD run but the PAT was blocked

The weather has made UM and tOSU one dimensional. Protecting the ball and the running game is going to be of utmost importance. As I type that, Boeckman throws an INT.

That's just Oregon - football history for them started in 1994 and they're still getting used to the concept that they're a fairly good program.

If no one is pressuring the QB, then he can just throw it away, right? I mean, otherwise every time the ball is spiked to stop the clock would be intentional grounding.

A spike is a special rule, I think... the QB has to spike it before he takes more than a half-step back (or some such) or it is grounding.

To spike the ball to kill the clock it must be a hand to hand snap and the ball must be thrown down immediately.

This K-ST team is running all over us. Looks like we'll take a 3 point lead into the half after a medicore first half.

JiMG will be glad to see Nesbitt put together a scoring drive for GT - 2-plays, first a 33-yard QB draw, then a long touchdown pass put the Jackets on top of UNC 24-15 now, early in the fourth quarter.

Edit: That's the third touchdown pass for Tech this game - most in one game for the season - by three different players (Choice to Bennett, Bennett to Smith, Nesbitt to Smith).

I don't get what Michigan is doing here. Sure, Mallett is a freshman that has looked lost at a lot of times, but Henne can't throw the ball further than 10 yards right now and is clearly in a ton of pain. And you are losing by two scores with 4 minutes left. Get him out of the game. Reminds me a lot of USC leaving Booty in against Stanford when he couldn't get any velocity or accuracy on his passes.

F'n Woodson has the arm to be a QB but that sure didn't look like he's got the head for it (took a bad sack trailing UGA 21-13 with 10:30 left). And that leads to a missed field goal

Meanwhile Tennessee back up on Vandy 9-7 with 4 mins left in the half

So should Henne and Hart get an asterik in the records book for going 0-4 against OSU? And possibly 0-4 in Bowl Games.

Michigan fans, I drink from your tears.

If at the beginning of the season you'd offered me an 11-1 season, a bone crunching win over Michigan, and a Rose Bowl bid I'd have taken it in a heartbeat. I don't understand all the negativity towards Ohio State. All we did was go out on the field and earn the Rose Bowl in what was supposed to be a rebuilding season. At this point I really don't care about all that BCS nonsense. We won the Big 10 outright, spanked the Wolverines, and are Pasadena bound. I'm a pretty darn happy man.

Oh, and I do feel bad for Henne and Hart. Two great players who probably deserved a lot better. I hope this injury doesn't hurt Henne's draft day chances. He's great when he's healthy (and has receivers with a little more fortitude).

Vandy leads 14-9 just before the half & UT just fumbled (on a pass ruled a lateral), 'Dores ball at the UT 15 with 0:29 left in the half.

Vandy gets a FG out of the turnover, 17-9 at the half.

Meanwhile GT kicks a 32 yd FG with 0:18 to play but it's waved off for a dead ball illegal substitution on UNC. Almost surprinsgly, the ensuing 27 yarder is also good, now 27-25 Jackets.

After GT's Travis Bell misses a go-ahead 33 yarder with 2 minutes left, he gets another opportunity from 32 with 18 seconds - Butch Davis finds a way to ice him three times (2 consecutive timeouts, and then a dead-ball 12-men on the field penalty that negates a good kick), but Bell eventually hits it to put GT up 27-25 with 0:15 to go.

I think Tech was just the first team I've ever seen blitz two men out of a prevent defense.

And UNC is going to try a 63-yarder to win.

UNC's kick from 63 is partially blocked; and Tech wins to go to 7-4 on the season. This is, I think, UNC's sixth loss for less than a touchdown; they'll be very good once all these freshmen they're playing are juniors.

Why did Kentucky go for it on 4th down from the 20? You're down a FG and a TD/2 pointer. Take the 3 and try an onside kick.

Georgia stops a desperate Kentucky drive with their 5th sack of the day (following yet another airmailed incompletion by Woodson). His name has to officially be off the Heisman ballot after being largely dominated by Georgia all day. Looked very average all day, finishing 24/41 for 268, 1 TD/1 INT. And 45 of those yards came on the final drive with Georgia laying back allowing completions.

And speaking of QB's not looking good, Ainge is 13/21 for 110 & a TD but his misses have been mostly by a mile. He's been completely out of rhythm for most of the first half, as has normally reliable kicker Daniel Lincoln who has had a PAT blocked & missed a FG, just his 4th miss of the year.

I had figured Kentucky's kicker was probably an iffy call ... but he's actually 11/12 from inside 40 this season (would have been a 37 yd FGA).

TD, KU 7-0 halfway into the 1st. Nice grinding drive.

Reesing limping around a little.

KU already with 2 penalties, very uncharacteristic.

Tennesse has reverted to their no clue defense. If Ainge remains out of synch in the 2nd half, this could get very ugly. And Fulmer would need a Secret Service escort to get out of Neyland alive (and even then it'll be iffy).

TD #2 for Dexton Fields, today. That's after Briscoe had 3 against Nebraska 2 weeks ago and Henry had 3 last week against Oklahoma State.

TD, KU, 21-0. They're just grinding down Iowa State. That said, that's probably what Colorado thought last week when they were up 21-0 and went on to lose so KU needs to keep the pressure on.

Tennessee goes 3-and-out yet again, but gets a roughing the kicker call.
If they're going to do anything, this is the time.
