Understood, although in this case I did not have that option. There are multiple ways to strike out in APBA while sacrificing (some are mere foul balls, as your post suggests), but this one was a straight K with no recourse.

As an aside, I'm not sure that a pitcher swinging away with two strikes would be considered "conventional." Perhaps if they can swing the bat competently, but I think most weak-hitting pitchers still try to bunt regardless of the count.

Not if you have already seen them bunt two foul off of this pitcher. You have to think the chances of bunting foul again are pretty good. I would rather take the slim chance he'll get wood on the ball to advance the runners, than to bunt and have a high risk of striking out with no chance to advance the runners.

That said, I see from your previous post we have to work within the limits of the game. It doesn't look swinging away was an option (once the sacrifice was set up).

MrBug708 will lead off the bottom of the third for the Elitists...he lines the first pitch to left but it's right at Ardent, and he makes the catch...one down...kcchief19 is up...

Here's the pitch from duckman...it's a ringing single to right for kcchief19! He just went with the outside pitch and drove it.

Runner on first with good speed, one down...the power-hitting heybrad is at the plate...

Here's the pitch...and heybrad hits one high off the plate...heybrad streaking for first...Raven Hawk grabs it but he'll have no play...infield single!

Good speed on 1st and 2nd, still only one out, and Schmidty at the plate...

Great pitch by duckman and Schmidty pops it up...infield fly rule is in effect...and the thirbaseman JeeberD makes the catch...two down...that was a big out for the Hattrickers to get...

It's up to Shorty now for the Elitists...here's the pitch...defensive swing by the young shortstop...and HE pops it up as well! JeeberD again, this time in foul ground...and he makes the catch! Some clutch pitching there by duckman, and the inning is over.

Shouldn't you be telling your pitcher to do that, not the omniscient and (hopefully) impartial umpire? Then again, I did ask him via PM about the possibility of beaning your guys but truth being stranger than fiction, it happened naturally...

It'll be up to Coffee Warlord to get a two-out rally going for the HTs...and he does, working the count full, fouling off a couple, and then taking the base on balls...runner on first, two down, and Masked coming up...

Figures...makes big statements about clothes-lining players, but then he hits little dribblers when they count.

Go Elitists!

Masked hits a room-service two-hopper to second, where Vince handles it and tosses to Shorty for the easy force out. On to the bottom of the 4th, with no score...

Huckleberry leads off for the Elitists...he's one-for-one...and he rips a line drive to right!

But it's right at Masked, who grabs it for the easy first out...

Vince steps in, the light-hitting Elitist secondbaseman...he hits a routine grounder toward first...Coffee's on it, and makes the unassisted put-out...two down...

Here's albionmoonlight, up against his counterpart duckman...he gets his bat on the ball, but it's an innocent fly to right...there's Masked again, and he's got it for out #3.

Quite a pitcher's duel thusfar, as expected!

Thirdbaseman JeeberD first up for the Hattrickers...he puts a good swing on it, but albion's ball-movement is outstanding, and the result is a routine fly to left...Swaggs with the catch, one down...

Last chance in the 5th for the Hattrickers, and here's shortstop tucker rocky...he dunks a little blooper down the right field line...it's gonna drop! Charging hard is heybrad...but TUCKER ROCKY's motoring for second! He didn't even slow down - this is going to be close - here's the throwwwwwwwwww...

OUT at second! Nice throw by the Elitist rightfielder, and a fine tag by the shortstop Shorty. That's three outs...some questionable baserunning there by tucker rocky with the pitcher coming up behind him.

Here's kcchief19, the big-gun firstbaseman for the Elitists, and he's 1-for-2...it's hit sharply toward third...and it gobbles up JeeberD! Goes right up and off his chest...he's got no play and has to eat the ball...E5. And heybrad will come up again with a runner on.

Unfortunately, the Hattrickers have the pitcher (duckman) leading off...and he's a quick K for albionmoonlight leading off the 6th, one out

Top of the Hattrick order...Katon's 0-for-2 from the lead-off position...and now he's 0-for-3, as he pulls an easy grounder to first, where kcchief19 pulls it in and goes to the bag for the unassisted put-out...two down

Raven Hawk steps in, and he's also 0-for-2...the Hattrickers just haven't solved albionmoonlight as yet...here's the pitch...he's just sticking his bat out defensively, and he pokes it into left, where Swaggs is waiting...there's the third out.
