It's more complicated than you're making it sound. Fisher and Chow are leaning toward Leinart. Reese and Adams lean toward Young.

The end of the "Lions will draft another WR" jokes is a side benefit of draft day I haven't really thought of until now. Assuming, of course, (this is a BIG assumption) that the Lions actually do not draft a WR.

On draft day, the Lions will trade down. And why will they trade down? So they can draft more receivers, of course!

That is the speculation at the time. And Norm Chow doesn't sign the checks.

I'm leaving now (I have the Browns 12th pick) for a x2 header I have to umpire. I probably wont be able to pick until tomorrow morning.

I'm just hoping beyond hope that Santonio Holmes shows up to the draft in Lions gear. And that he starts up to the podium with a big smile on his face when the Lions' pick is announced. And then looks shocked and confused when it isn't him.

That would be the best Lions/WR joke ever.

Assuming that the trade is still ok with primelord, here it is:

Detroit Lions trade 1.9 to St. Louis. In return they will recieve the Rams 1.11, 3.13, and 5.11

With the 1.9 St. Louis selects TE Vernon Davis, Maryland

We gave up a little too much per the value chart, but I think Davis is going to be an absolute monster and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity.

I really wanted to take him, but he's close enough to a WR, that I couldn't risk further ridicule.

Well, Davis stays in the division though I really thought it would have been SF taking him. Can't say I'd be happy having any team in the NFC West though I hope Boulware would be a decent matchup against him.

Last chance for people who that want to move up (though I don't want to move down more than 4-5 spots).

You can still nab the top WR.

1.11 DT - Haloti Ngata

With Big Daddy Wilkerson most likely retiring, the Lions will need to fill a huge hole in the D-line next to Shaun Rogers. Ngata is supposedly most suited for the 3-4, but from what I read, not only is he huge and strong, he's also quite quick and agile. That sounds a lot like Shaun Rogers coming out of college. I also think he's the best value left on the board.

Not bad. There is certainly a void left with the likely departure of Wilkerson. Based on what I've read, it appears as if Bunckley (sp?), the DT from Florida State, is allegedly, a better fit in Marinelli's defensive scheme, since he's more of an upfield, agressive, and quick DT - than Ngata. Personally, I have no idea. I don't recall seeing either guy play.

I was seriously considering Bunckley, but there are questions about his work ethic and motor, so that definitely won't work with Marinelli and Henderson in charge.

He's one of those "combine wonders". They're crapshoots, and not worth taking, imho.

Not entirely... he was a pretty good QB for Vandy, and even before the combine he was getting praise for his skills.

Expanding on what Isiddiqui said... He was considered the 3rd best QB and likely 1st round pick before the post season bowls even started. His Senior Bowl performance has probably done mroe for him than the combine did. The combination of the two though di bring him up from the late first round to possibly the early first.

I'm seriously interested to see who the Bucs pick up with the 23rd pick. I'm really hoping for a OL but I can't see a Winston Justice type of player falling this far. I'm guessing that someone like Auburn OT Marcus McNeill might land here.
