Can someone help me understand this? Tennessee got a defensive holding call on a fade route on a Third and goal. They marked off the penalty as 5 yards and still third down. Isn't defensive holding always an automatic first down?

It's kind of funny and kind of sad how the announcers treat the Notre Dame kicker with open derision at this point, but he did just come through with a 42-yarder. 10-3 ND over UNC.
Georgia only up 13-0 on their cupcake opponent. Miss St is up on Vandy 9-7 late 3rd. TCU is actually down to CSU 7-6 in the 2nd, but they're driving. And Ga Tech is actually having a hard time running on Gardner-Webb, up 10-0 near half. Last edited by BishopMVP : 10-11-2008 at 03:36 PM. |

I hate the b-team CBS guys. They just showed the first year coaches records for this year, and they had the guy at Navy but didn't show Paul Johnson at GT? He has to be up for coach of the year right now. How do you miss him?

Kevin Thomas with a nice pick 6 to put USC up 21-0 with 5 minutes left in the half.

Golden Tate is a playmaker. Goes up and takes away the ball from a defender, turning an INT into a 47-yd completion to the UNC 9. ND, which has the worst red zone % in FBS, converts on a TD pass to Michael Floyd, the other great young WR we have. 17-6 ND.
Miss St now up 17-7 on Vandy. |

Now UGA has only a six-point lead on the "cupcake." 13-7. And they lost yet another OL starter. I'm still wondering how anyone that knows football would have had this team at number 1. We have a very mediocre O-line that now have lost two starters, and a very mediocre D-line that lost it's captain in the first game. The SEC media had it right when they said UGA would finish 3rd on their side of the conference. It would be really sad if they finshed third to Florida and Vandy. |

These announcers are brutal. They keep discussing whether ND's upman signaled fair catch or not.... it doesn't matter. He didn't get hit and he didn't catch the ball.

Haha. UNC tries running a play with 5 seconds left instead of just attempting the FG and their QB takes a shot and runs into the tunnel with an injured shoulder. 17-9 ND at halftime.
Vandy got a TD back, down 17-14 in the 4th. After all his talk, Ricky Jean-Francois out for tonights game vs. Florida |

People already bring up the fact that they lost so much talent, but yet USC lost a ton more and everybody expects them to be good. Michigan has lost this kind of talent before and yet they could at least put a 7 win season together. Toledo was one of the wins I was looking at if they were to get 4. With PSU and MSU up next and OSU still lurking, we can pretty much assume an under .500 seaon is in the making. He has to bring in a stellar class and if it includes a new QB, he'll get a grace period of a year with the hope of the turn around happening. After that, I don't think even 8 wins is going to be deemed acceptable. |

Iowa spanks Indiana 45-9. Thank goodness.
I want to see Missouri and Alabama play before I make Texas #1. If Missouri goes into Okla St. and puts up another 56-10 score. They are #1 regardless of what Alabama does. Texas is #2 at that point. I think Alabama is #3. |

TTech and Nebraska are in OT. Tech scores a TD but the XP is blocked.
[edit]Nebraska gets intercepted and TTech wins

Georgia Tech blocks a 44 yard field goal that would have tied it with 9 seconds to go and holds on to win 10-7. What an ugly game for Tech.

Jackets hold on to beat Gardner Webb 10-7. Playing their 3rd and 4th string quarterback, they couldn't get anything going offensively. I think they only had 2 first downs in the second half.

Apparently it's 13-10 Auburn at the start of the second half. Auburn's offense still sucks even after firing their OC.
Unfortunately, the damn game's a PPV and so blocked out on ESPN360 MJ4H did you get the PPV or is anybody watching it on 360?

Crazy ending here. If the officials call this one for ND, this game is going to be really suspect.

If they a) don't rule this as a fumble and b) give Notre Dame a final offensive play, this game will go down as one of the worst officiated games in NCAA history.

Hurricanes in trouble against UCF. Theyre up 20-14 but UCF has the ball at midfield with 3:22 left.
I know this is a young team and we're supposed to be giving Randy time to rebuild, but I'm not going to have much confidence in him if they lose this one.

As a Gopher fan I really think you'll be ok. I didn't think they'd be as bad as they were last year, and I really didn't think they had any chance of starting 6-1 this year. Brewster didn't have anywhere near the overall talent that Rich Rod does or the same draw for talent that Michigan has. Honestly I see Michigan being the class of the Big Ten in the next few years. As for todays game, great win over Illinois for the Gophers. With a roster that only has 2 good options at CB, I knew there would be problems containing the passing game. They made some great plays on D to keep Illinois to 20 with as many yards as they gained. Couldn't have won without the things the defense did, especially with how well the Illini managed to keep Decker in check. Will be interesting to see how the rest plays out from here, 6-1 and this was by far the best team on the 2nd half of their schedule. To come up with a road win shows how incredibly far Brewster has brought them from last year. |

Why is Danielson for CBS talking smack this entire game about LSU? We suck right now, just saying that would be no big deal. But what he is doing tonight is ridiculous. (And random? I really want to know what he is up to, did an LSU coach snub him for an interview?)
But yea, LSU *might* not be so good this year, we are really missing Pellini and Matt Flynn. |

BYU wins against a UNM team with attitude 21 - 3. Our poison is mobile QBs, I am actually scared to play Air Force now more than any other team on our schedule (Yes even Utah) after watching us get slaughtered by Mobile QB's this season.
Max Hall played a very efficent game discecting the UNM defense when he threw it. They had a corner that made 3 amazing plays or this game would have been blown open quick. Utah stomped a very poor Wyoming team 40 - 7.

That had to be the ugliest offensive performance I've seen (minus 1 play) in my 41+ years of breathing air. The offensive line was just that - offensive - I don't know whether we decided to play the 3rd & 4th string there too or if they don't like Booker or what, but they didn't show up all day. Yeah, Booker looked to have about as much business trying to run the option as I would have but he got zero help from anybody on his unit except for Dwyer's catch-and-run. The defense showed up for work & then some, thank God. About the only bright side from this near debacle might be that Clemson certainly won't get much help from studying the game film. If they watch this, they'll be so busy laughing that it might actually do them harm. Meanwhile, props to Vegas Vic and (I think it was) GrantDawg who called the Vandy loss ahead of time. I wouldn't have believed it, not for a second, which is why I don't bet college football.
