Where was Henne throwing that 3rd down pass?
I'm suprised they don't let Hart grind it out more, or at least adopt a play-action pass more often. |

Well, for those who want a rematch in the national title game (i am not one of them), I think a Michigan loss by 3 on the road is about as perfect a setup as you could get.

Me either. There shouldn't be a rematch. Give another team a shot at the title.

Oh well... That was just a great game, played by two excellent football teams. Ohio State was simply the better team today. Congradulations to them.
I believe this loss is nothing to hang your head over. It is a loss to a better team with a QB that will win the Heisman Trophy (and deserves it.) The consolation prise will be a trip to the Rose Bowl, which, I still regard as an excellent way to end the season in any season. Hopefully, Michigan gets USC... NO REMATCH!!! OHIO STATE WON... |

How ridiculous is it that the natl. championship isn't played for 7 1/2 weeks? It would be nice if a playoff started in a couple of weeks with the top 8 or 16 teams.

Here's the ranking for order of shot at OSU:
1. USC 2. Florida 3. Arkansas 4. Michigan 5. ND 6. Rutgers If a team ahead of you loses, move one step forward. I just have such a hard time saying one of those other teams with one loss, who wins their conference, doesn't deserve a shot. ND MUST BE BEHIND MICHIGAN in the pecking order. |

Not after getting a heading by Michigan. I'm against a re-match, but I do think Michigan has a very fair argument for the second-best team in the nation. I think they should adapt a four-game "semi-finals". |

Suppose USC beats Cal and loses to Notre Dame? Would you want to "give" a Notre Dame team that got their asses handed to them by Michigan (in South Bend) a shot at the title? I thought the goal was to select the two best teams to play in the national championship game. If the consortium of human and computer pollsters determine that Ohio State and Michigan are the two best teams, I don't have a problem with them playing again in Glendale. |

DAMN YOU BLUE!!! I'f i'm not mistaken, did'nt you blow up after last years game, I can't remember. Anyways I was hoping you would do it again, but I gotta say you just gained a little respect from me for not doing so. This being OSU-UM, and me being an OSU fan, that's really hard to say. My friggin emotions were running high that second half, and if we lost, I know I would'nt have even come on this board I would have been so upset. Good post. Great game.

Without a playoff, I don't feel a team who doesn't win their conference should be playing for the National Championship. Felt the same about Oklahoma a few years ago. Last edited by Celeval : 11-18-2006 at 06:55 PM. |

Being a Michigan fan, I'd love to see rematch, especially because I consider Michigan the second best team in the country. But if USC were to win out, I'd be perfectly fine with them getting their shot or Florida too. But I feel Michigan should get their shot before Notre Dame or Arkansas. I feel it should be down to USC, Florida, and Michigan.

That Codley, or whateever his name is, douchebag almost cost me a good deal of money. Either way, Michigan is OK in my book.
I don't follow college football all too closely, just watch the big games. And I also don't get it, if Michigan and Ohio State are the 2 best teams in the country at seasons end, why not a rematch? |

Wyoming is bowl eligible after knocking off UNLV. Not bad for a season where they were supposed to be a lot worse, losing almost all of their good players from last season.
Considering they were a missed extra point away from 2 OT against UVa., and should've took Boise State close here at home, I wonder how next year will go. |

But does a playoff really solve anything, say if Michigan beats Ohio State? Would it truly determine who's "better"? It's not like the NFL or the NBA, where you got a small, pretty equal pool of teams that play each other. Also, what about Notre Dame, since they aren't part of a conference? What about those conferences who have the advantage of a Conference title game? It's a sticky situation with no system that would truly determine a champion. Another Michigan fan adding a congrats to Ohio State. That's easily the best team in the nation. They were the better team today and deserved what they got.
I'm still not sure where I land on the rematch issue. I would say if these two teams played 10 times, Ohio State would win 7 times. The problem is, these are also clearly the two best teams in the nation. ND got DA-Rilled at home, by Michigan, and so we're going to make them #2 ahead of Michigan? USC has struggled all year. Squeaked by UW, Wash St and Arizona St. If you want to claim to be #2 in the nation, you don't barely win those games and you sure as shit don't lose to Oregon State. Arkansas and Florida, even Rutgers have a better arguement than USC and ND. |

I'm just glad Penn State won, as they will likely now play in the Outback Bowl.
Although they're going to get pasted by whomever they play from the SEC, I'm just happy that I'll get to see them play on New Year's Day. |

If you're okay with Florida playing, and Arkansas beats LSU and then Florida in the SEC title game, how could you not be alright with Arkansas playing for the title? Their only loss, in a tough conference, would be to a team you also feel worth of the shot in USC. |

OSU almost gave the game away. What a game by both teams.
As far as the title picture, I say let's see how things play out. I'm not gonna get too hyped up about that yet. I hate the BcS, so I'm hoping Rutgers wins out and then misses out on the championship game. |

With the rematch issue, I think if Michigan won there would have been a better case for a rematch. Since Ohio State was #1 and will remain #1, another top contender should get a shot. Michigan has had their chance. Is Michigan the second best team in the nation? Probably. So if Ohio State wins the championship game and Michigan wins the Rose Bowl, guess what the final standings look like? |

The only good thing about this is, he can get them in there at halftime and cook up whatever he made last week against Louisville.

That said, when are they going to recruit a better QB than Teel. Rice can't do it alone and Leonard won't be there next year.
