#22 Hofstra (15-4) at #25 Syracuse (14-6) Our defense was the key to victory today. We did not score much, but we ended up scoring plenty in a 67-43 win (if that makes any sense at all). Another big win over a ranked team. Dukes is the hot hand off the bench as always, leading the team in scoring with 15. Ford added 14.
We have moved up to #18 in the polls. February 6, 2040 #21 Notre Dame (16-7) at #18 Syracuse (15-6) We get Horst back into the starting lineup for this one, and we needed every bit of him as we eek out a 75-74 victory, over yet another ranked opponent. Ford led the team in scoring with 24, but Horst was the POTG with 18 points and 17 rebounds in his long awaited return. Dukes added 10 for us.
February 8, 2040 #18 Syracuse (16-6) at #21 Notre Dame (16-8) We turn around with 1 day off and have to play them back at their place. They were hungry for revenge and we could not stop them in losing 92-81. Dukes led us with 25 today and Ford added 21. Fifield had 18 and Horst grabbed 12 boards.
February 11, 2040 #18 Syracuse (16-7) at Rutgers (9-12) I probably should not mess with things, but I am going to move Ford to PF, Dukes to SF and Barahona to the bench. I knew it, I should have left things alone. We get beat, 73-60 today, but I will try out this lineup for a few more games. Horst scored 16, and nobody else could do a thing for us.
We drop all the way back down to #25 in the polls. February 15, 2040 Seton Hall (12-10) at #25 Syracuse (16-8) We get it done at home today, 82-71. In fact, we are almost perfect at home, with a 11-1 record at the Dome. Dukes led us with 23 points and Ford had 14. Stewart chipped in with 13 off the bench and Horst grabbed 16 boards.
Mid Month Recap
I don’t feel like we are 17-8, which is not a terrible record. I feel we are around 12-12 to be honest. Our RPI is 26 right now and we are ranked, which means we are on the right side of the bubble. We are perfect against teams ranked 100+, and 9-8 against the top 100. We are actually better against the top 50 (5-3) than we are against 50-100 (4-5). Top 25

Weber State (12-14) at #25 Syracuse (17-8) Just as I talked about my great home record, we drop a home game, 81-80 today. I think it is time to juggle the lineup again. Fifield scored 23 to lead the way. Ford had 15 and Horst had 15 rebounds.
February 22, 2040 Western Kentucky (10-14) at Syracuse (17-9) I moved Barahona back to the starting PF spot. Ford to SF, Dukes to SG and Fifield to PG. That seemed to work out good today, as we take the 77-59 win at home. Dukes and Ford led the team with 18 points each. Fifield and Stewart each scored 10. Horst had 13 boards.
February 25, 2040 Syracuse (18-9) at Western Kentucky (10-15) We win a road game today in convincing fashion, 93-79. I think I found a good lineup, now that it is late February. Ford led us with 19 and Horst had 16 points today. Stewart and McWilliams each scored in double figures off the bench.
After a week out of the polls, we are back in at #22. February 29, 2040 UNC Greensboro (12-15) at #22 Syracuse (19-9) We pick up our 20th win of the year, which should ensure a NCAA birth. The final score was 88-83. Dukes led us with 28 points today, a career high I believe. We had three guys in double figures in rebounds: Ford, Barahona and Horst. Barahona and Horst each scored in double figures as well.
February Recap
Our regular season is over, but there are a couple more games to decide tourney seedings. Top 25

Final Standings
We are the 4 seed in the Big East Tournament. The Bonnies look unbeatable. March 8, 2040 (4) #19 Syracuse (20-9) vs. (5) Vanderbilt (20-11) For the second straight year we get wiped out in the first round. The final was 107-72. Now we wait to see if 20 wins is enough.
Seton Hall and their 6-10 regular season league record goes on to win the Tourney and steal an at large bid from somebody.

Post Season
…and I was worried? We are awarded the 5 seed in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament. March 16, 2040 (5) Syracuse (20-10) vs. (12) Virginia Tech (19-12) We draw a pretty tough 12 seed, but handle them pretty easily to advance with a 87-66 victory. Dukes was the POTG today, scoring 29 and pulling in 10 boards. Horst scored 12 and Ford had 11. Stewart and Tinsley each scored in double figures off the bench.
March 18, 2040 (5) Syracuse (21-10) vs. (13) Brown (19-13) Brown upset the 4 seed Minnesota in the first round, so we cannot take them lightly. We play them as if they were a top 5 team and secure a trip to the Sweet 16 for the 2nd time in 3 years with a 74-53 victory! Fifield led us with 17 points, Ford had 16 and Dukes added 14.
March 22, 2040 (5) Syracuse (22-10) vs. (1) #2 Tulsa (28-5) A tall order in the Sweet 16 if we want to advance. Not only the #1 seed, but the #2 team in the nation. Do Ford and Dukes have what it takes to outgun them? We get a solid effort from Dukes with 19 points and Ford only scored 11. Usually that is a bad sign, but our defense came through in a big way to lead us to the Elite Eight with a 80-64 victory. Horst was actually the POTG for his 17 point, 13 rebound performance. One game from the Final Four!
March 24, 2040 (5) Syracuse (23-10) vs. (7) #23 Wisconsin (22-11) Wisconsin knocked off the 2 seed, Mississippi to get here, we knocked off the 1 seed. Both teams are very similar and are wearing the Cinderella shoes, them more so than us though. Who wants the final four more? Barahona and Ford both fouled out of this game, Barahona very early, which led to them dominating us inside. We tried to keep up, but just couldn’t with our foul troubles and fell, 112-107. A valiant effort, but a game short of the Final Four once again.
Final Four #7 Wisconsin #6 St. Joseph’s #10 Utah State #5 Iowa Wisconsin goes on to win the NCAA Title (ouch!) over Iowa in a wide open Final four. Toledo wins the NIT hardware. AWARDS Richard Stewart was named to the Big East Freshman team. He was also named Big East Freshman of the Year! Marshall Barahona was named to the Big East Freshman Team. Alfonso Horst was named to the Big East First Team. Season Stats

Off Season Procedures
Our prestige has gone up to 87. The AD is still satisfied. I decide to press my luck a bit and ask for an upgrade to our training facilities. We’ll see what he says next month. I receive the following job offers: Brigham Young (87) Illinois (100)!!! Temple (89) I decline all three. We had the #3 ranked recruiting class this year. Kentucky had the #1 ranked class. My coaching skills have increased 20 points. Here are my skills now: Recruiting 86 Scouting 68 Offense 83 Defense 83 Our recruiting coach took the head job at Rider. I also fired my assistant and will look for a better X and O guy. Our new recruiting coach is 58 year old Duke Partin. He is rated 100! My new coaching assistant is 41 year old Ron Burford. He is rated 73 on offense and 30 on defense. We are invited to the Las Vegas Invitational as a 1 seed, and we accept. We have 6 openings on our schedule, all of which can be home game, so we schedule the following teams for this year: Albany Nebraska Georgetown Iona Colgate Long Island My request for a training facility upgrade was denied, because the money could not be raised. They did not get sour with me when I asked though, so that is good. On the recruiting scene, we have 3 scholarships to offer. We get 2 early recruits. PG Raleigh Prior, from North Highlands, CA, has committed to Syracuse. Pryor is a 5 star recruit and the #5 ranked recruit overall! He is a terrific shooter and has the potential to be a nice defender. His passing skills are a bit weak, so he might be used as a SG.
C Alden Kay, from Port Jefferson Station, NY, has committed to Syracuse. Alden is a 4 star recruit and the #26 ranked recruit overall. His rebounding and defensive potential is through the roof. While he will never be a deadly offensive weapon, eh already has some very nice skills in the paint.
I get notices from Richard Stewart and Jon Hunt, that they will be entering the NBA draft after this season.

2040-2041 Syracuse Roster
CENTERS 12 David Moreno C Sr 6'10" 241 Windsor, CA A walk on with a bit of rebounding and defensive skills, but nothing that will get him court time. 51 James Fox C So 7' 0" 227 Seymour, IN Another walk on, worst player on the team. POWER FORWARDS 5 Marshall Barahona PF So 6'10" 268 Ravena, NY Marshall will once again start at the PF spot. His offensive numbers were not great last year, but he does a tremendous job defensively, and his rebounding is becoming very good already. His offense is improving as well. 14 Paul Toth PF So 6' 6" 205 Riverside, CA Another walk on who will not play. 33 Colin Underwood PF So 6'10" 252 Berthoud, CO See Colin underwood. 1 Eugenio Miles PF Fr 6'10" 214 El Segundo, CA Miles is getting the start at Center as a true freshman. He is a terrific defender and will get a few rebounds and points for us. Not a great option to start underneath, but the best we have. SMALL FORWARDS 31 Oscar Tinsley SF Sr 6' 7" 257 Montgomery, NY Tinsley is a great guy to have coming off the bench. He does a little bit of everything. 23 Richard Stewart SF So 6' 9" 217 Wendell, NC Rich gets the start at SF this year. He had some great games off the bench last year and we hope that he can handle the start. 22 Samoyla Zhitnik SF Fr 6' 7" 220 Dmitrov, Russia Zhitnik is another guy who can do a bit of everything. He and Tinsley are similar players and both will see plenty of PT. 21 Charles Desrosiers SF Fr 6' 8" 234 Summerville, SC Charles gets a red shirt this year. 54 Jonathan Hunt SF Fr 6' 7" 216 Melba, ID Jon is an awesome shooter and a great perimeter defender. He will be involved in my rotation heavily as a true freshman. SHOOTING GUARDS 44 Brant Dukes SG Sr 6' 5" 191 Tallahassee, FL If I have to tell you about the Duke, you have not been paying attention. He starts at SG. 25 Brian Whiteley SG Jr 6' 4" 209 Wahpeton, ND Brian is a walk on, but an above average one. I still doubt he will see much time due to our good depth in shooting this year. POINT GUARDS 32 Borislav Titov PG Jr 6' 1" 180 Kirov, Russia Boris was benched last year due to his ineffectiveness, but this year, he looks to have made great strides. His passing skills might be the best I have ever seen at Syracuse. He will start at the point and make our offense run. 30 James McWilliams PG Jr 6' 2" 198 Canoga Park, CA A walk on who is actually a handy back up point guard. Pre Season Top 25

November 19, 2040
Long Island (0-0) at Syracuse (0-0) We open up the season with a nice 84-68 victory at home. Dukes starts the season out right, with 28 points. Barahona added 17. The injury bug strikes already as Rich Stewart is out for 2 weeks.
November 23, 2040 Colgate (0-0) at Syracuse (1-0) We take care of Colgate, and a part of me loves to beat them still, even though they are way out of our league. The final score was 85-57. Dukes led the way with 33 points. Get used to hearing that. Titov added 10 with 8 assists. Zhitnik had a dozen off the bench.
We enter the polls at #13 this week. November 26, 2040 #13 Syracuse (2-0) vs. Georgia State (1-1) We head out to Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Invitational Tournament where we are the one seed. It turns out to be a horrible trip as we lose to the 8 seed, 83-77. Dukes had 25 to pace us, while Barahona and Miles each had a double, double, but obviously it was not enough.
Ack! The computer used Stewart and his injury is even worst, and now will miss another 3 weeks! November 27, 2040 #11 Detroit (2-1) vs. #13 Syracuse (2-1) We go 0-2 out in the desert after a 99-89 loss. Dukes went off for 38 points. He must be the only one not staying up all night in the casinos. Titov scored 18 along with 11 assists.
November 28, 2040 #13 Syracuse (2-2) vs. #6 Cincinnati (2-2) So, the 1 and 2 seeds square off in the 7th/8th place game. We drop this one by a point, go winless in the desert and take 8th place as the #1 seed. Great trip.
November Recap C Larry Enoch, from Garden City, NY, has committed to Syracuse. Larry is a 4 star recruit, and the #42 ranked recruit overall.
Our starting center, freshman Eugenio Miles has been placed on academic suspension for 1 month. This season is starting out real bad folks.
Let’s just hope we can heal up, get people in class and passing tests and have a solid squad for January and conference play. Top 25

Iona (3-0) at Syracuse (2-3) We put together a real hodge podge lineup. A small one at that, Zhitnik, one of our backup SF’s has to play the center spot. We are much better than Iona though and even with 40% of our starters out, we take a 79-46 victory. Dukes scored 32 today and Barahona added 15.
December 11, 2040 Georgetown (3-1) at Syracuse (3-3) We bet our old rivals today in the first of a 2 year home and home deal we agreed to. The final was 87-69. Dukes continues to be a scoring machine. He had 34 today. Zhitnik had 16 in his second start and Barahona had 10 boards.
Nebraska (4-1) at Syracuse (4-3) We drop our first home game of the season, 83-78. Dukes put up another 35 points and Hunt added 15. Barahona grabbed 13 boards for us.
Our injury woes continue as Zhitnik was injured in this one. Thankfully, Stewart will be back for our next game, but that still leaves us without a center. Mid Month Recap
We are still just trying to get into January with a healthy squad and a respectable record. Top 25

Butler (2-6) at Syracuse (4-4) Stewart is back, but Zhitnik is out, so we move Barahona to C and Stewart to PF, both playing one place out of position. We get pounded here at home, 98-81. Dukes was held to just 15 points and fouled out of the game. Stewart also had 15. Tinsley led the team with 16 off the bench. Barahona had 9 with 16 rebounds.
December 26, 2040 Albany (2-5) at Syracuse (4-5) OK, we have everyone healthy for this game (except that Miles is still on academic probation). Zhitnik is back to starting at Center. Barahona at PF, Stewart at SF, Dukes at SG and Titov at PG. Next month Miles will move to center and Zhitnik to 6th man. We barely get by this in state team today, 88-86. Dukes led us with 21 points. Zhitnik had 18 for us and Barahona grabbed 18 rebounds.
December 31, 2040 Yale (4-4) at Syracuse (5-5) We wrap up the 2040 calendar year with a nice 85-62 victory. Stewart led us in scoring with 20, but Dukes was right with him, scoring 18 of his own. Zhitnik had 11 and 14 boards while Titov added 10.
December Recap PG Gerry King, from Hume, IL, has committed to Syracuse. Gerry is a 4 star recruit. He is ranked #47 overall. He has terrific passing and handling skills and pretty decent jump shot. His defense is pretty bad though.
SG Robbie Mitchell, from Imperial, PA, has committed to Syracuse. Robbie is a 4 star recruit and the #20th overall. He is a terrific shooter, and has good ball handling skills. His defense will need a little time to improve.
We had a great recruiting season, pulling in 5 great looking players, all in the top 50 in the country.
Miles is back from suspension, and we are ready to start winning some games. Top 25

Syracuse (6-5) at Purdue (8-4) We were in this gamer the whole way, but could not pull it out on the road. The final score was 83-81. Dukes led the way with 21 points. Stewart and Titov each scored 15, and Barahona had a dozen rebounds.
January 9, 2041 #3 Vanderbilt (13-0) at Syracuse (6-6) This is a tough way to open our Big East schedule, but thankfully it is at home, where we play very well. We don’t play quite well enough to win this one though. We fell down early and could not shoot ourselves back into this one simply because they could not miss a single shot all night. The final score was an eye popping 121-110. Dukes tied a school record with 52 points in just 32 minutes of action! Whiteney scored 52 for us a year before I arrived at Syracuse.
January 12, 2041 Syracuse (6-7) at #9 Miami (9-0) The Big East has some super teams this year. We lose on the road to another undefeated squad, 98-89. Dukes had another 27 points today. Stewart added 18 and Zhitnik had 11. Titov scored 8 along with 10 assists.
January 16, 2041 #14 Notre Dame (9-3) at Syracuse (6-8) We drop this contest by just 1 point at home, to fall to 0-3 in league play. We are also 0-9 against the top 100 teams in the country now. Dukes led us with 28 points and Stewart added 24.
Mid Month Recap
We start out 0-3, but we did play 3 of the top teams in the league. This season is turning into a giant bust, but I hope I can get it to look respectable against some of the weaker league teams. Top 25

Syracuse (6-9) at Toledo (9-6) We finally put together a good game and come away with a 113-81 victory. Dukes, as always, led us in scoring. He had 31 today. Stewart had a great game with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Barahona and Titov each scored in double figures and Miles added 8 points with 10 boards.
January 23, 2041 Western Kentucky (6-7) at Syracuse (7-9) We string together a couple conference wins with a 90-84 victory today. Dukes had 22 and Stewart had 21 today. Barahona had 12 boards and McWilliams added 10 points off the bench.
January 26, 2041 Hofstra (9-6) at Syracuse (8-9) We crush them today, 97-52 to get back to 500 overall and in league play. Today, Dukes SET the single game Syracuse scoring record with 53 points. Amazing offensive player.
January 30, 2041 Toledo (9-9) at Syracuse (9-9) We pick up our fourth straight league win today, 91-87. Dukes goes off for another 41 points. He might be the best scorer in the country this year. Barahona added 18 and Stewart, 13. Titov had 7 points along with 16 assists and Miles had 12 boards.
January Recap
It seems to be our mantra, that we start slow and come back towards the second half of the season. Dukes is averaging 30.4 ppg, and is second in the nation behind Chris Mitchell from Georgia Tech, whose average is 31.8. Top 25

UNC Greensboro (8-8) at Syracuse (10-9) We are official on fire right now. We take a 85-74 victory today. Stewart led us with 22 points today. Barahona had 13 and 11 boards while Miles had 16.
Dukes was shaken up in this game, but won’t miss much time, if any at all. February 6, 2041 Weber State (12-7) at Syracuse (11-9) Dukes is only at 90%, but we need him, so he gets the start anyway. We take care of business at home today, 71-64 to run our league record up to 6-3. Dukes injury did not seem to bother him, he still scored 27 to lead the team. Stewart added 13 and Titov 10. Barahona and Miles each had 11 boards.
February 9, 2041 #6 Seton Hall (15-4) at Syracuse (12-9) Today we find out we are not quite that good yet. We lose 88-73 at home. Dukes had 26 and Stewart added 18 in the losing effort.
February 11, 2041 Syracuse (12-10) at #21 Notre Dame (14-7) We pull off the upset on the road by smacking them, 96-74. I love beating the Irish! So does Dukes, he sent for 35 points. Stewart added 23 and Barahona had 10.
February 13, 2041 Syracuse (13-10) at Weber State (13-9) We pick up a good solid road win today, 97-83. We are really playing well down the stretch outside of that Seton Hall game. Dukes puts up 37 today. Stewart had 20 and Titov 10. Miles scored 8 to go along with his 10 boards.
Mid Month Recap
We hold a 1 game lead over Notre Dame for the top spot in the West. The East Division is absolutely loaded, with the top 2 teams in the entire country over there. Our RPI is 27 despite our average record. It does pay to schedule tougher games. Top 25

February 23, 2041 Syracuse (15-10) at Connecticut (10-13) We get tripped up on the road here, 75-71. Dukes did all he could with 31 points. Stewart added just 11 and Titov 10.

We do make the NCAA tournament. We have to play in that dreaded 8/9 game as the #9 seed. We will play Georgia in the first round. March 22, 2041 (9) Syracuse (18-13) vs. (8) Georgia (21-10) We out gun the Dawgs, 99-89 to move on to the second round where we have to play the top seed. Dukes carried us to victory with 40 points. Titov put up the first triple double I have seen as a coach, 10 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds! Miles had 12 points and 12 boards. We will need similar performances in our next game.
March 24, 2041 (9) Syracuse (19-13) vs. (1) #6 Tulsa (28-5) Stewart is not at 100% today, probably playing around 85-90% due to injury. We will need Dukes to score at will today… He did score at will, 42 points today. We still lose though, as he got no help at all from his teammates. The final score was 96-75. Titov added 15 points, but nobody else could put it in the basket.
Final Four #1 Tulsa #9 UC Irvine #2 Kentucky #3 Fresno State UC Irvine pulls off two upsets and wins the NCAA title over Kentucky! Illinois wins the NIT Title. AWARDS Eugenio Miles was named the Big East Freshman Team. He was also named Big East Freshman of the Year! Brant Dukes was named to the Big East First Team. Aren't there a few too many guys going pro from your team? This seems rather unrealistic, and would get pretty frustrating for me. I have only tried the demo, but how many guys turn pro early each year? Jonathon Hunt leaving as a seldom used Freshman? I don't think so.
Dukes wan't conference player of the year or named to an all-american team!? That is a rip-off! |

An example of someone like Hunt leaving might be Corey Maggette. There are two reasons a player can go pro. Performance or potential. When you are pulling in High School All-Americans, it increases the risk of early departures due to potential. Players rated in the top 30 in the league in overall potential can leave due to potential. Otherwise they need to have to perform well in order to consider leaving.
As a side note, there are far too many 100 point games right now. Hopefully the next patch will address that somewhat and I have a few other tweaks in mind that should help as well.

I also felt that the amount of guys leaving early was a bit too high. I woudln't even mind 1 per year if I am pulling in all these top 25 recruits.
It does make it tougher to have consistancy year to year, and really makes you hit the recruiting hard, knowing you newed to reload every year.

Unfortunately, that seems to be the trend...players leaving earlier and earlier to go to the pros. However, it would be nice if the players reconsidered during the season when they either don't play well or get injured.

Off Season Procedures
Wow, I can’t believe I have about 40 seasons under my belt now. It has been a good ride so far. The Final Four and a NCAA Title still elude me, but we have been awfully close twice now. The AD finally agreed to upgrade the training facilities, and they will be completed next season. Our recruiting class was ranked #1 in the nation this year! I receive the following job offers, which I decline: Fresno State (96) Wake Forest (100) Wisconsin (97) All cream of the crop programs for sure. My coaching assistant left for the head job at Norfolk State. My recruiting coach also left. We replace them with the following coaches: 42 year old Charles Terrell is the new recruiting coach. He is rated 78 in recruiting. 54 year old Abraham Rivera is the new coaching assistant. He is rated 70 in offense and 49 in defense. We are invited to the Maui Shootout as the #2 seed, and we accept. We also have 9 games to schedule, with 8 of them being home games. Here is who we pick up: Buffalo Villanova Pittsburgh Campbell Denver Hartford Army Colgate New Hampshire Recruiting begins and we have 3 scholarships to fill. We get a couple early recruits: SG Chris Davis, from Hoxie, AR, has committed to Syracuse. Chris is a 4 star recruit and #29 overall. A great shoot and great defender, exactly what I look for in a SG.
SF Brian Peiper, from Manchester, NH, has committed to Syracuse. Brian is a 4 star recruit and #33 overall. A great scorer from inside and outside. A very good defender down in the paint as well.

2041-2042 Roster
Note: I screwed this one up and hit training before I red shirted and even before I assigned training points. Ugh. CENTERS 51 James Fox C Jr 7' 1" 230 Seymour, IN James is a walk on and will not see the floor. 34 Alden Kay C Fr 6'10" 253 Port Jefferson Sta, NY Alden was supposed to get a red shirt. He has great potential, but is not quite ready yet, I will still give him some time as a backup. 11 Larry Enoch C Fr 6'10" 226 Garden City, NY Exactly the same situation as Alden Kay. POWER FORWARDS 5 Marshall Barahona PF Jr 6'10" 269 Ravena, NY Marshall is our starting PF once again. His defense is just tremendous, as is his rebounding. His scoring is improving a little bit. He has informed me he will enter the draft following his junior year. 14 Paul Toth PF Jr 6' 6" 206 Riverside, CA Walk on, and will not play. 33 Colin Underwood PF Jr 6'10" 263 Berthoud, CO Walk on and worst player on the team. 1 Eugenio Miles PF So 6'10" 215 El Segundo, CA Miles gets the start at Center again this season. A great defender and rebounded and his offense is coming along very nicely. SMALL FORWARDS 22 Samoyla Zhitnik SF So 6' 7" 220 Dmitrov, Russia Sam gets the start at SF this year. A terrific scorer from anywhere on the floor. His post dense is much better than on the outside. He can get to the offensive boards as well. He has informed me he will be leaving following his sophomore year. 21 Charles Desrosiers SF Fr 6' 8" 235 Summerville, SC Charles is a good backup SF. He is a very versatile player and his defense compliments Zhitnik’s. SHOOTING GUARDS 25 Brian Whiteley SG Sr 6' 4" 211 Wahpeton, ND This walk on can pass the ball well and play pretty decent defense, and as such, might see some time backing up the point. 12 Robbie Mitchell SG Fr 6' 4" 198 Imperial, PA Robbie is a true freshman and a terrific shooter. He will come off the bench and see plenty of playing time. POINT GUARDS 32 Borislav Titov PG Sr 6' 1" 182 Kirov, Russia Boris gets the start at the point again. His ball handling and passing is sensational, as is his defense. He is not a big scoring threat, but can put up some points. 30 James McWilliams PG Sr 6' 2" 198 Canoga Park, CA McWilliams is a very, very good looking walk on in his senior year now. He is going to see a bunch of time. 45 Raleigh Pryor PG Fr 6' 1" 175 North Highlands, CA Prior has a good three point shot and knows how to get inside and finish. He will get time off the bench. 24 Gerry King PG Fr 6' 2" 179 Hume, IL Gerry gets the start at SG as a true freshman. His defense is pretty weak, so we may go zone and help him out, but his shooting skills are excellent.

November 17, 2041
New Hampshire (0-0) at #11 Syracuse (0-0) One of our early tune up games is an easy 82-53 win. Everybody chipped in with a few points here and there. Zhitnik was our leading scorer with just 13. Titov and Derosiers had 10 each. Barahona had 11 rebounds.
We move down to #13 in the polls. November 22, 2041 Colgate (1-0) at #13 Syracuse (1-0) We really struggled to score today, but we did just enough for the 58-46 victory. Zhitnik led the way with 18 points. Pryor had 16 off the bench. Barahona had 10 points with 12 rebounds.
We are now ranked #10. November 25, 2041 #10 Syracuse (2-0) vs. Toledo (1-0) We head out to sunny Maui for this Shootout. Toledo is the 7 seed. We take care of them in this first round game, 78-72. Zhitnik led us with 22 today. King and Miles had 10 each.
November 26, 2041 #10 Syracuse (3-0) vs. St. John’s (2-1) The Johnnies are the 3 seed, and they pull off the upset, 89-76. Shitnik had 27 and Barahona scored 20 along with 17 boards.
November 27, 2041 #10 Syracuse (3-1) vs. #12 Kansas (3-1) This is the third place game, and we have the 1 and 2 seeds. We drop a close one against a great Kansas squad, 82-79 to finish up 1-2 in this tournament. Zhitnik had 23 to lead us and King had 21. Miles scored 12 with 15 boards and Titov had 13 assists.
November Recap Miles gets suspended for a month again this year. SG George Kinard, from Brooklyn, NY, has committed to Syracuse. George is a 5 star recruit and #9 overall. Great shooter and great defender.
Our trip to Maui exposed our weakness: offense. We have traditionally been a dangerous offensive team, but this year we don’t have any great scorers outside of Zhitnik. We will replace Miles with true freshman Larry Enoch and see how he responds. Top 25

Mid Month Recap
I am not really happy with the offense right now and when Miles gets back in January, we may see some shake ups in the lineup. Top 25

Seton Hall (9-6) at #19 Syracuse (11-4) We just get crushed at home today. So much for doing what we have to do on our home court. The final score was 71-52. King had 14 and that is all.
Major shake up to the roster. Barahona moves to Center. Zhitnik moves to PF. King moves to SF. Titov remains at PG. Mitchell comes in as SG. Miles is a heavily used 6th man at C and PF and SF. January 25, 2042 #19 Syracuse (11-5) at Rutgers (8-6) We hit the road with everybody understanding their new assignments and roll to a 95-66 victory! Can I coach or what?! Mitchell made the most of his new starting spot and scored 21 to lead us. King had 18 and Barahona scored 16. Titov had 14 assists.
We are now ranked #20. January 29, 2042 Toledo (13-5) at #20 Syracuse (12-5) We smother their offense today and cruise to a 80-55 victory at home. Titov and Zhitnik each scored 17 to lead the way and King had 16.
January Recap
The Big East seems to be having a down year as far as national rankings go. Concerning us, I hope I have discovered a good lineup. Top 25

February 8, 2042 #24 Notre Dame (12-6) at #20 Syracuse (14-6) A ranked team rolls into the Carrier Dome today and just rolls right over us, 73-50. I am starting to think we just are not that good this year. Mitchell had 13 points and King added 10.
February 10, 2042 Weber State (9-13) at Syracuse (14-7) We bounce right back with a solid 92-71 win after we learn we drop out of the Top 25 poll. Mitchell led the way with 23 points and King had 22. Titov had 11 points and 11 assists while Zhitnik scored 14.

March 5, 2042 Syracuse (16-11) at Toledo (19-9) The losing continues here today with a 90-82 final score. Barahona led the team in scoring with 17. Zhitnik, King and McWilliams each scored in double figures as well.
Miles will miss the next 3 weeks due to injury. March 8, 2042 #25 Vanderbilt (19-10) at Syracuse (16-12) We wrap up the regular season with a win against a ranked team. I guess that helps us deal with the off season, knowing the talent is here, but the seasoning is not. The final was 70-58. King led us with 21 points.
Final Conference Standings
We are the 8 seed in the Big East tournament. March 12, 2042 (8) Syracuse (17-12) vs. (9) Miami (13-17) We pick up a win in the opening round, but now we get into the tough part of the tournament and still need 3 more wins. The final here was 75-59. Zhitnik led us with 23.

Off Season Procedures
Our prestige slipped 6 points to 82. The AD is concerned with my performance. If it does not improve, my job may be in jeopardy. I need a big season this year. Our recruiting class was ranked #4. Tennessee had the #1 ranked class. I get offers from: Boston College (90) St. Bonaventure (94) I decline them both. I fire my coaching assistant and decide to go after one of the big guys who were fired from their head coaching job. Hopefully, I land one. Our lead scout leaves on his own. Our new scout is 48 year old Hassan Vining. He is rated 65 in scouting. Our new coaching assistant is 48 year old Cliff McElroy. He is rated 99 in offense and 98 in defense! We are invited to the Great Alaskan Shootout, and accept as a 4 seed. We have 10 games to schedule, 8 of which can be home games. We schedule: UNLV Holy Cross Washington Denver Colgate Cornell Buffalo Georgetown Idaho New Hampshire Recruiting begins and we have 3 scholarships to fill. We get 2 early recruits. SF James Rainbolt, from Abington, PA, ahs committed to Syracuse. James is a 4 star recruit and #31 overall. An absolute lights out shooter from anywhere on the floor.
PG Ronald Livesay, from Washington DC, has committed to Syracuse. Ron is a 4 star recruit and #19 overall. He brings great PG skills and good shooting.
True Freshman George Kinard has informed me he will be entering the draft after this season.

I tweaked the code so it will be less common for freshman and sophomores to leave but more common for juniors. That should produce a more realistic distribution.

He may earn a starting spot before the year is over though. 50 Chris Davis SG Fr 6' 2" 188 Hoxie, AR Chris is a red shirt this year. 10 George Kinard SG Fr 6' 4" 199 Brooklyn, NY George is a terrific freshman shooter. He earns the start thanks to his shooting and defense. We are looking for a lot of offense form our freshman star. POINT GUARDS 45 Raleigh Pryor PG So 6' 1" 175 North Highlands, CA Pryor will see plenty of time backing up the SG and PG spots this year. 24 Gerry King PG So 6' 2" 180 Hume, IL Gerry is our starting PG. He is a terrific passer and has a very nice shot as well. His defense is poor and we will have to help out. 53 Donny Barnes PG Fr 6' 1" 191 Charlotte, NC Donny is a walk on and will not play.

The polls work themselves out and we move down to #12. November 26, 2042 #12 Syracuse (3-0) vs. #13 Temple (2-0) We head to Alaska as the 4 seed. We should be right at home with the weather up here. Kay again had double figures in rebounds, with 13.
November 29, 2042 #12 Syracuse (3-1) vs. #10Arkansas (2-1) Arkansas is the 6 seed in this tournament. They beat us by shutting down our offense. The final score was 73-60. Kinard and Kind had double digits in scoring but that was all. Kay had another 12 boards.
November Recap
We cannot get out of November without a loss or two anymore. Top 25

Man, what a luxury to have all sophomores and freshman with most of the playing time for your squad. You'll take a few hits here and there, but you should be great for tourney time and especially next year.
That's what I don't like about the current college game. The top teams don't grow up together anymore. It's more about getting the most talent on the floor for this year, then pray they don't take the money and run. |

#14 Syracuse (9-2) at Holy Cross (2-8) We hit the road today brimming with confidence and it all comes crashing down on us with a 77-65 loss. None of our starters were able to generate any offense today and it costed us dearly.
We drop to #21 in the polls. January 7, 2043 #21 Syracuse (9-3) at Notre Dame (5-6) Our offense is still missing in action as we lose to the Irish, 71-54. King and Miles had 15 points each, but there was not much offense anywhere else. Kay had 11 boards.
January 10, 2043 #21 Syracuse (9-4) at Western Kentucky (6-6) Finally, we break our losing skid and win our first conference game, 86-79. Rosy scored 21 to lead us to victory. Kinard had 16 and Miles and Kay combined for 23 points and 24 rebounds down in the paint.
January 14, 2043 Syracuse (10-4) at Hofstra (8-4) We stay on the road in conference play and drop another one, 69-61. Rosy had 12, Kinard 11 and that was about it.
January 17, 2043 Syracuse (10-5) at Toledo (7-6) Still on the road, but we pick up another win today, 81-74. We should rebound good with a lot of home conference games left on the schedule. Rosy led us in scoring with 27, and he also had 10 boards. King had 20 points for us. Miles and Kay each had double figures in rebounds.
Mind Month Recap
We have played all road games in league play so far and we are at 500. We need to win just about every home game and steal a few more road ones this year. Top 25

We break back into the polls in a big way, ranked #14.
February 2, 2043 #14 Syracuse (14-5) at Weber State (6-14) We don’t earn our new ranking as we drop a very close road game, 81-78. What I wouldn’t give to win a road game against a 6-14 team. Sheesh! King had 17 points to the lead the team today. Pryor had 14 off the bench. Rosy and Miles each scored a dozen.
February 4, 2043 #14 Syracuse (14-6) at Miami (12-9) We will probably fall right back out of the Top 25 poll after losing again, 91-85. Rosy led us in scoring with 19. King had 16 and Pryor 13. Miles had 14 boards for us.
February 7, 2043 #14 Syracuse (14-7) at #16 Memphis (19-4) Memphis already picks up their 20th win the year by beating us 86-80. Talk about frustrating. King had 19 points to lead us today. Miles, Kinard and Mitchell each scored in double figures as well.
February 9, 2043 #10 Memphis (20-4) at Syracuse (14-8) We get back home and have no problems, go figure. We are like night and day. The final was 101-93. King led us in scoring with 26 points today. Rosy also had a 20 point game. Pryor, Mitchell, and Enoch all had 11 each off the bench. Kay also chipped in with a dozen points.
February 14, 2043 Syracuse (15-8) at Connecticut (15-7) We actually win this one, 74-68. A rare and treasured win today. Rosy was the sole reason for the victory as he carried us with 38 points. Kinard added 11 and Kay had 14 rebounds.
Mid Month Recap
We have 5 games left, all at home. I really do expect to go 5-0. We are currently 11-0 at home, which means we are 5-8 on the road and neutral courts. Top 25

Temple (14-10) at Syracuse (16-8) We make this one look easy, steamrolling the Owls, 93-51. King led us in scoring with 28 points. Rosy had 17 and Kinard added 10. Off the bench we had Pryor scoring 11 and Mitchell 12. Both Kay and Miles did their job, grabbing 14 rebounds each.
February 21, 2043 Seton Hall (16-8) at Syracuse (17-8) Once again our offense is nearly unstoppable at home. We win with one, 105-85. King and Rosy both scored 25 points today and combined for about half of our offense. King also had 11 assists. Miles had a huge day with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Kay also had 13 rebounds.
We re-enter the polls at #23. February 25, 2043 Notre Dame (8-16) at #23 Syracuse (18-8) It is late February and we finally suffer our first home loss of the season. We get swept by the Irish with a 86-82 loss today. Rosy had 20 to lead us and Kay had 10 rebounds to lead the team in that category.
February 28, 2043 Hofstra (16-9) at #23 Syracuse (18-9) We pick up a solid win here at home to close out the regular season. The final score was 69-60. King was our scoring leader today with 22. Rosy had 13 and Kay grabbed 15 boards.
Miles was injured in this one and will miss 2-3 weeks. February Recap

Western Kentucky (12-15) at #21 Syracuse (19-9) Sorry, I forgot we had this one more game to play. That is good though as we are able to pick up our 20th win today, 110-53. Rosy scored 31 points today to lead us. Kinard and King both scored over 20 as well.
Final Big East Standings
We finish up 2nd in the West Division and earn a 4 seed in the conference tournament. March 12, 2043 (4) #20 Syracuse (20-9) vs. (5) #5 St. Bonaventure (22-8) Hey, how do we end up playing the #5 team in the country in the quarter finals??? Needless to say they give us an early exit with a 84-60 loss.
The Bonnies go on to win the Big East Tournament.

Off Season
Our team prestige slipped again this season, down to 79. Our recruiting class was ranked #12 in the nation. St. Bonaventure had the #1 ranked class. The Board of trustees and the AD is extremely disappointed with me. We need a big season here or I am gone. We turn down all of the job offers headed my way. Our coaching staff stays for another year as well. We are invited to the Las Vegas Invitational, and decline this one. We have 11 openings in our schedule, 8 of which can be home games. We schedule the following teams: Duke Penn State Sacred Heart Hartford Rhode Island Holy Cross Columbia Idaho Long Island Colgate Campbell Recruiting begins and we have just 1 scholarship to offer. We get no early recruits. Gerry King and Alden Kay have advised me they will enter the draft after this season.

2043-2044 Roster
CENTERS 34 Alden Kay C Jr 6'10" 258 Port Jefferson Sta, NY Alden will start at center in his final year at Syracuse. His defense and rebounding could not be much better. His offense is still just about average, but he had some nice offensive games last season for us. 11 Larry Enoch C Jr 6'11" 235 Garden City, NY Larry is both a terrific scorer and rebounded. His poor defense relegates him to backup status, but he will see a lot of playing time. POWER FORWARDS 1 Eugenio Miles PF Sr 6'10" 217 El Segundo, CA Miles returns to start at PF. He is as good a defender as Kay is, but his rebounding, while good, does not stack up to Kay. His scoring abilities are better though. I think we might have one of the tougher frontcourts in the nation. SMALL FORWARDS 21 Charles Desrosiers SF Jr 6' 8" 236 Summerville, SC Rosy returns as our starting SF. He scores from inside and outside with ease. He is always around the offensive boards for the putback. He covers guards very well. 15 Brian Pieper SF Fr 6' 7" 231 Manchester, NH Brian is a red shirt freshman and should be able to provide us with a nice offensive spark off the bench. 41 James Rainbolt SF Fr 6' 6" 229 Abington, PA James get a red shirt this season. SHOOTNG GUARDS 12 Robbie Mitchell SG Jr 6' 4" 200 Imperial, PA Robbie is a spectacular shooter, but will nto get the start. He had many fine games off the bench last year, and we will look for more of the same from him this season. 40 David Muller SG Jr 6' 4" 206 Potlatch, ID David scores from inside the paint and from 3 point range. His other skills are a bit lacking and will come off the bench. 50 Chris Davis SG Fr 6' 4" 189 Hoxie, AR Chris has a great offensive game and his defense is solid as well. He will see some playing tim ethis year. POINT GUARDS 45 Raleigh Pryor PG Jr 6' 1" 177 North Highlands, CA Pryor is a great scoring threat as he showed in limited time off the bench last season. He gets the starting SG spot this year. 24 Gerry King PG Jr 6' 2" 182 Hume, IL Gerry is just a spectacular point guard. He gets the start again this year, his last. 5 Ronald Livesay PG Fr 6' 0" 194 Washington, DC Ronald gets a red shirt this season. NOTES: I decided to try something different since my job is on the line. I cut all my walk on since they always seem to get a few minutes playing time regardless. My roster is stacked and there are no weaknesses other than a lack of depth in the paint. Maybe I am on to something as the pollsters voted us the Preseason #1 Team in the Nation! We have a pretty easy preseason schedule and no preseason tournament to deal with this year. Top 25
