Agreed.

I'll miss that show something fierce. It brought me great joy over the years.

"The Last Man on Earth" was great. Actually surprised it works so well.

I've taped it, but I'm dubious about it. Is it meant as a comedy? previews seemed to make it look like it is.

It is... but a lot of it is fair darkly comedic.

That's what I feared-I will at least watch the first episode to see it sparks any interest in me.

I watched both episodes of "Last Man On Earth" last night. It was all right. A few funny moments. Not sure if it will be enough to keep me watching.

Enjoyed "Last Man on Earth". Really surprised at the ratings # it did(2.5). I guess it became obvious about 2/3 of the way into the pilot that they had to intro a new character soon. I imagine ther. May be more females that appear over time?

Minor beef is there would have to be more chaos and wild animals running amok I'd think.

I also sampled some of Once Upon a Time last night.

WTF happened to Ginnifer Goodwin. She really fell off in the hotness dept IMO.

About 2/3 of the way into the pilot I decided to check the cast on imdb. Got really confused.

I definitely enjoyed it, although I wonder what the staying power will be like. As is, I feel it could get stale fairly quickly, but there's a lot of different avenues they could take.

The casting of Kristen Schaal is about as perfect as can be though. Although I like her, she has "ingratiating" down to a science.

I have a feeling she looks great in person but as a (leading?) Character in a show she's really looking out of place. I doubt I'll check out Once Upon a Time again but it was as amazeballz as I imagined it would be.

In the first few seasons she was pretty hot. However, she was probably at her hottest in "Big Love".

LMOE left me completely perplexed. Didn't find it funny, and it took a great premise and reduced it to an idiotic rom com with so many plot holes you could have buried all the bodies on earth in them.

I fell behind on Parks a bit and just got to the finale this weekend. I loved it, the entire last season was wonderul.

How Parks and Recreation found all-time greatness in simple goodness

I think that is my favorite article that I've seen about the series in the last week. Such a sweet, wonderful, hilarious show.

Parks and Rec was a completely fitting ending for what will probably go down as my favorite show (certainly comedy) ever. I love the optimism that show always displayed in how small acts by people can make a difference. It always showed absurd situations in small town life by laughing with them, not at them.

just watched sth horribly fun/hilariously horrible based on a grantland article:

Binge-Watch This: The Insane Australian Nazi-Hunter Series ‘Danger 5’ «

kinda a blend of 60s Mission Impossible meets Police Squad/Naked Gun meets 60s Batman meets old time Monster Movies (and in general, a whole lot of 60s style weirdness)

I thought Battle Creek did a pretty competent job handling the mismatched buddy cop genre. Plus it has a great cast. Ratings wise, it's looking DOA sadly

Alan Sepinwall has been my favorite TV critic for a long time and it's mainly because of articles like that.

I had an interest in battle creek and Backstrom. Battle creek has been pretty good, but Backstrom is just awful. It's like serious Dwight is the only character Rainn Wilson can bring to the table. This week Robert Forster made an appearance as Backstrom's father, and the disparity in acting was front and center scene after scene.

Forgot to set my DVR for Backstrom, and by this point it's DOA anyways. I haven't seen the 2nd episode yet, but I really liked the pilot a lot.

Also HBO's Togetherness had a great 8 episode season. If you didn't catch it, I'd strongly recommend it.

Secrets and Lies is spectacular, and not in a "Ryan Phillippe and Juliet Lewis are great actors" kind of way, but in an, "oh wow, this train wreck is so dumb but I can't turn away" kind of way.

Am I the only one to realize that Ryan Phillippe has been in every scene for the entire 127 minutes of this show? And that Juliet Lewis has spent more time staring through windows, in the most awkward manner possible, than actually speaking intelligent human words? And Dan Fogler is a ridiculous bit of outstanding casting as the fat best friend.

Plus, it gives me a chance to say Homer's "Secret's and Lies" speech at least 15 times per episode.

It's a much better remake of The Odd Couple than The Odd Couple.

I had to bail midway thru the Pilot. Felt like Broadchurch by Dummies and I do think Lewis is playing a partially mentally disabled cop.

Ok, I just read the review for iZombie on the CW tonight, a show I wasn't even thinking of watching..

Review: iZombie feeds the craving for quick wit left by Veronica Mars (and then some) · TV Review · The A.V. Club

Quote:
While the show is based on (or inspired by) the Vertigo comic iZOMBIE, the only thing that remains from the comic is the general premise of a twentysomething zombie girl who uses the memories of the brains she eats to solve murders.

Yeah... I'm totally on board now.

iZombie was fantastic! CW is crushing it right now.

Also caught the first 2 eps of Community on Yahoo. Good, but not great. I figure it takes time to catch their groove when they have constantly introduce new folks.

no interest in iZombie, but I do agree that the CW is crushing it. Three of the five shows I've made any kind of effort to watch live in the last 12 months have been CW shows. The other two were ABC (Agent Carter) and HBO (Game of Thrones).

Holy shit, did not to see Necklacing. That was horrific.

RE: The Jinx
I didn't understand what this show was and I thought it was one of those Pacino type movies they make on occasion. Vaguely remember this stuff when it happened and especially the SNL skit. guy is obviously a psycho and too bad he'll barely do any jail time before he dies.

I get that the humor is that Phil settled for Carol because she was supposedly the last woman around. But I just can't take her voice and I'm just not sure I can keep watching Last Man on Earth if she doesn't get backburnered soon. She'd be a great character at 2-4 minutes per episode but her current screen time is intolerable.

Also.

American Crime Story might be a decent show if it weren't so obsessed with bludgeoning you with commentary on racial injustices and flaws in the criminal justice system. They really write some craptastic dialog

I think that was the point? Look at the story from a bunch of angles? Agreed that there's prob no way the black guy did it so they should probably kick up the pace and intro a real suspect soon.
