Larry Wood signed a written contract with WLW, so he is be gone and will have to be replaced in Black Eagle's Army.

I signed Crippler Ray Kingman as our new Road Agent. Chance had a C+ in Road Agent skill (not sure which attributes feed into "Road Agent", but his Psych is C+, Respect is B-). Kingman has an A* in Road Agent (A* Psych, A* Respect). He should do a lot better. Chance has been changed to a "Personality".

Edit: CRAP! I forgot to deal with the Black Eagle's Army storyline before Larry Wood left and it was deleted by the game. Damn...I need to rewrite that now anyway. And the Heat for it was pretty low...but still, I need to write a new one.

Johnny Bloodstone, a star for NOTBW extended his deal with them. However, it's a PPA deal. If I ditch our NA deal with NOTBW right now, I could grab him. I don't know, though. They currently do not have a TV deal.

To hell with it. They can't sign workers to written deals due to their size. The time to strike is now. I move to end out Non-Aggression Pact.

First wave of NOTBW talent.

Omar Brown
Middleweight Regular Wrestler
Wrestling Skills: Brawling C-, Puroreso B-, Hardcore C+, Mat C-, Chain C-, Submissions C+
Performance: C to B+
Star Quality C+
Face B+ / Heel A
Popularity: Canada D+

Note: $2,000 PPA Contract that also proimises a Midcard title. He'll be servicable as a brawler and technician. I'll probably use him as mostly a guy to get Main Event brawlers and technicians over while beating up on most of the Openers - Midcarders. Giving him the Canadian title for a few weeks won't be a problem.

Dallas McWade
Big Heavyweight Brawler
Wrestling Skills: Brawling C, Hardcore B
Performance Skills: D to C+
Face A / Heel A
Popularity: Canada C

Note: Not much skill wise, but he has good popularity in Canada already and can be either Face or Heel. I may have found the perfect fued for Dan DeLay. $2000 PPA with the promise of a midcard title. Again, easy to fulfill.

Johnny Bloodstone
Middleweight Technician
Wrestling Skills: Puroresu C-, Mat A, Chain B-, Submissions B+
Entertainment: Mic C, Charisma C+, Acting C
Performance: B to A*
Star Quality C+
Face D+ / Heel A
Popularity: Canada B+

Note: $3000 PPA, Main Eventer, promise of a Main Event Title. He's already well over in Canada, is a massive talent in the ring, and I really need to think fast for what I will do with him. With the influx of talent, I may be scrapping the whole Black Eagle's Army storyline.

Owen Love
Lightweight Technician
Wrestling Skills: Flashiness C-, Mat B-, Chain B-, Submissions B
Entertainment: Charisma C
Performance: B- to A
Sex Appeal C+, Star Quality C+
Face B+ / Heel A
Popularity: Canada C+

Note: $2500 PPA, promise of a Midcard title. With Love and Bloodstone (two very good technicians), I now have several very talented technicians. I'll start him off as Upper Midcard and a Face.

My roster is starting to get expensive, but if I can't start to really succeed now with the talent I have...then I really suck at this game.

Thoughts

Art Reed, Omar Brown, Shooter Sean Deeley and Travis Century need a big push. They need to get up into the Cs of popularity for me to be able to do what I ant to do with them.

Dan DeLay vs. Dallas McWade seems like an obvious fued. Both have the same skills, they both are the same size and style, and they are both C in popualrity. I'll start the fued off, but if they don't click....

I'm going to form a few stables

One, Black Eagle's Army - Black Eagle, Travis Century and Roger Dodger. I had planned on it being a 4 man stable (vs. the 4 DeColts), but I am going to scale it back. I need 1 more there.

Elite - The stable that existed prior to me taking over. It will be reformed, but will have some different faces.

And I need another Face Stable. Owen Love, Trent Shaffer, Art Reed, Dallas McWade, all canidates for it.

I may be able to revive my tag team situation.

Johnny Bloodstone HAS to fued with the DeColts right away, and the guy who needs to be the face of CGC and the DeColt family (due to Owner Goals), Steve DeColt, is available. However....I cant' use up those 3 matches right away.

I need to write a new Black Eagle's Army storyline, I need to write a Johnny Bloodstone and Steve DeColt storyline, and I need to write a Dallas McWade vs. Dan DeLay storyline, not to mention the formation of some of these new stables / tag teams.

Wow, looks like that new road agent and the new talent from the other fed is really paying dividends. Amazing looking at the roster to see the possibilities with the DeColts and the heels in the org. Bloodstone looks like he'll be replacing Black Eagle for the moment when it comes to push.

Pretty much. Black Eagle seems to have good chemistry with all of the DeColts, so I don't want to tie him down in a feud with just one of them. I'm going to keep pushing Black Eagle, but not as the main opponent for the DeColt Family so that I can occasionally have him fight any one of them when I need a high rated filler match.

CGC Title Bout Wrestling drew a 0.18

I'm trying to take a slower approach to CGC. In the past, when I wanted to get a worker over, I had him fight every week, and he soon ran out of viable matches. While this happened, all of my other workers suffered as they lost whatever momentum they had.

I'm trying to follow a system of booking, but I need to spread things out. My goal is to get every worker on TV at least once per month, and not to have more than 2 matches per month (excluding PPV), but to do my best to have them fight just that 1 time. That way, I can get everyone seen, I can slowly build up momentum and popularity of everyone I want to push, and I can minimize the chances of randomly running into the "3 matches" warning. Too many of my guys have crappy momentum because I forget to book them as I overbook a select few workers.

Here's how I plan to book Title Bout Wrestling

Dark Match: Lower Midcarder vs. Opener
Dark Match: Midcarder vs. Opener
Match #1: Midcarder vs. Opener
Match #2: Midcarder vs. Low. Midcarder or Midcarder
Match #3: Upper Midcarder vs Low Midcarder or Midcarder
Match #4: Main Eventer vs. Midcarder or Upper Midcarder

And every other week, I'll try to have a tag team match at the #2 or the #3 spot, and I'll try to have a ME vs. ME match at least once a month as well.

I have 8 Main Eventers, so with this schedule, 5 of them would work per month (if I have that ME vs. ME match). Again, this is excluding the PPV (where pretty much everyone except Openers and Low. Midcarders are guarenteed to wrestle), so I think that's good as far as Main Eventers go.

I have 7 Upper Midcarders, and with this schedule, at least 6 of them would probably work, most likely all 7 would. 9 Midcarders, 7 Low Midcarders and 8 Openers. The Midcarders on down will probably get on TV at least 2 times per month, which is great. They are the ones that need to be seen more oftan so that when the top guys beat them up it looks a bit more impressive.

Anyway, that's the idea. As far as Angles go, I'll use them to advance storylines, as I have done, but also to get my Upper and Main Event guys seen on the weeks they aren't wrestling.

Most of the matches were made to have someone with a low momentum for their push group to get a win. Travis Century, Stevie Grayson Jack DeColt and Mick Muscles all needed to get a win. As such, I'm not surprised at the low ratings overall for this show, but hopefully it served its purpose.

CGC Title Bout Wrestling drew a 0.23

I signed a new Announcer, Mitch Naess, who has a "B+" for Announcing. My current Announcer, Jerome Turner, has a "C+". Turner's contract was $900 PPA, and Maess is getting $1500 PPA. I think for $600 more per show, it's worth it to have someone with a full grade higher in announcing.

I also resigned Davis Wayne Newton to a $800 PPA contract (up from $400 PPA).

CGC Title Bout Wrestling drew a 0.24

All of my storylines have ended. I created 3 new ones, but I am running the storylines differently. In the past, the vast majority of my storylines have been about two wrestlers, or 2 teams, facing each other. In the 3 storylines I have wirtten now, only one of them actually has the 2 opponents as major roles in the storyline.

One storyline, "Black Eagle's Army Reign of Terror", has Black Eagle, Travis Century and Bryan Holmes as the major roles, no faces are officially in the storyline. In the storyline "Omar Brown Goes Crazy", the face he will eventually face is in the storyline. And the third, "Reformation", has 4 heels, no faces.

I'm trying to test out the idea of seperating "storylines" from "feuds". I'll still have feuds. Even though Steve DeColt and Johnny Bloodstone are not officially in a sotryline, they will still rant against each other, and they will still have matches against each other. Their momentum and popularity should carry the fued over with the crowd (or at least, that's my theory). I'll be using Storylines to 1) Help workers get over who may need the help, 2) String together angles to tell a story, 3) Assist and suppliment the feuds between the workers (instead of essentially being the feud).

CGC Title Bout Wrestling drew a 0.22

I'm searching for several more openers, lower midcarders and maybe a few more midcarders (to form tag teams). Some of my openers and lower midcarders aren't really cutting it.

I've also updated my booking schedule a bit.

Dark Match: Lower Midcarder vs. Opener
Dark Match: Midcarder vs. Opener
Match #1: Midcarder vs. Opener
Match #2: Upper / Midcarder vs. Low. Midcarder or Midcarder
Match #3: Upper / Main Event vs Low Midcarder or Midcarder
Match #4: Main Eventer vs. Midcarder or Upper Midcarder

Just altered Matches #2 and #3 to allow for the higher level push to be involved. 1) Increasing the number of possible matches and, 2) I would like to have my top talent shown a bit more to help card ratings.

New Signings

Freddie Datsun
Middleweight Regular Wrestler
Wrestling Skills: Brawling C, Hardcore C+, Chain C-, Submissions C-
Entertainment: Mic C-, Charisma C, Acting C-
Performance: B- to B+
Sex Appeal C+, Star Quality B-
Face A* / Heel C+
Popularity: Canada D, US C-

Notes: Currently ina fued with fellow CGCer Art Reed in the USPW. They look like they put on some good matches, but Datsun will be a face. Maybe a possible teammate for Art Reed, or another middleweight brawler or technician. Signed a $1500PPA contract

Alex Braun
Lightweight Regular Wrestler
Wrestling Skills: Hardcore C
Entertainment: Mic B, Charisma B, Acting B
Performance: B- to B+
Face A / Heel B-
Popularity: Canada D-, US C-

Notes: At 47, he's losing his skills fast. In fact, most of them are gone. He comes over from the hardcore fed PSW He can still work a crowd over, and he has great performance ratings. I'm starting him at Heel and am trying to find him a teammate. I'm thinking he'd be good to team with Omar Brown (two hardcore workers together).

Alysien Scottsfield
Light Heavyweight Brawler
Performance: B-
Face B+ / Heel A
Popularity: Canada D-

Notes: No ability at all, except he has good ratings in Performance. We'll be an Opener and will be quickly cut if he doesn't help out the young talent improve.

Johnny Martin

Entertainment: Mic C, Charisma C, Acting C
Performance: B- to B
Sex Appeal C+, Star Quality B
Face B+ / Heel D+

Entertainment: Mic C-, Charisma B, Acting C-
Performance: D+ to B+
Sex Appeal C, Star Quality B
Face A / Heel B
Popularity: Canada D+ (C- in Ontario)

Notes: Starting him off at Midcarder, but a few good matches will get him to Upper Midcard if he gets C- Popualrity throughout Canada. Again, someone I'd like to make a tag team out of, but if not, he could be a prime canidate as a star for the non-DeColt face stable I'm planning to put together.

Harrison Nash
Middleweight Technician
Wrestling Skills: Aerial C, Mat C, Chain C, Submissions C
Performance: C- to B+
Sex Appeal C+, Star Quality C

Giant Redwood
Super Heavyweight Brawler
Performance: D+ to B+

My roster is quite bloated right now, but I'll be letting several workers who just aren't working out go when their contract is up (going to keep giving them a chance for awhile).

CGC Title Bout Wrestling drew a 0.18

Travis Century resigned for $2000 PPA, and a promise of a midcard title.

Steve Flash resigned for $2000 PPA

Now that I filled out my midcarders some, I need more jobbers. A lot more. The ones I have now just don't seem to cut it. The Gilbert brothers pretty much stink and Danny Rushmore never seems to show up. I don't have much hope for Alysian Scottsfield. Lead Belly and Warren Technique don't have good "Selling" ratings.

I need to get a lot more openers and lower midcarders, try them all out, and keep the ones that make the midcarders and higher look good.

2008 Year In Review

Business

Well, it took me awhile to really get the hang of everything. I have nearly put CGC into the poor house, but everything bottomed out in the summer. We started off the year with $5 million, raised it to about $5.5 million over the first few months, but then started losing roughly $200,000 per month starting in June and are now at just over $4 million.

Even with the current rate that I'm losing ($250,000 in December), it will take me over a year before we ran out of money. The problem hasn't really been with worker costs, even though that has gone up over $100,000 per month since January 2008. It mostly has to do with ticket sales. In January and February, I was selling out 5000 capacity for TV and 10,000 capacity for PPV. In Feb 2008, I made over $660,000 in ticket sales. By July, that dropped to $120,000.

The good news is that it is improving. In December, I saw $175,000 in ticket sales, the highest it's been since June ($216,000).

My Popularity started out at B in BC, and C- in the rest of Canada. In BC, it dropped to C by July, and was down to D+ even sooner in the rest of Canada. Popularity has remained at C in BC since July, but right now (January, Money Week 1 of 2009), it's up to C- in the rest of Canada.

Owner Goals

I have 6 months left to make sure that Steve DeColt has at least a B- Popularity (he's sitting at B right now and I have no plans to take him out of the World Title picture)

I have 6 months left to have Jack DeColt have a B in Momentum. He has a C+ momentum now. In about 2 months, I'll start giving Jack a major push so that by summer, he has a good momentum. My worry, though, is Steve DeColt has a B momentum right now. That will have to be some push I give Jack.

I have 8 months left on my not being able to hire Super Junior workers

12 months are left on my goal to not have CGC in debt.

16 months are left on my goal to not sign anyone with less than C- in Safety.

Workers

Now let's take a closer on look on the development of several workers

Black Eagle
A worker I have been pushing since his arrival. He's actually gotten a bit better in Entertainment. His Mic Skill went from D- to D, and Charisma went from C to C+, and a few of his other attributes have gone up a point. He started off not being known at all in Canada. He now has a C+ popularity in BC, and a C in the rest of Canada (He also went from an E+ to C in South East US since he also works for CZCW).

His 2008 record with CGC was 21 wins, 7 losses and 3 draws. Average rating C-, Highest rating B. His last three matches have been rated C+, B, B. Just as I had hoped, once Black Eagle got some popularity in Canada, he started putting on some great matches.

Not much to say about anyone else since Black Eagle was the only worker I really pushed.

Here is a short list of who I am going to try to push in 2009 (aside from the ones who are already Main Eventers, of course)

Art Reed
- He had two matches rated C, one with DeLay and one with Deeley. Pretty good with someone who has D+ popularity. I think he'd be great in a feud with Bloodstone or Deeley, I just need to get him up in popularity a bit.

Owen Love and Trent Shaffer - Time to revive the tag team division, and I think these guys can do it. Owen Love has a B- Popularity in Canada (due to NOTBW), and Trent Shaffer is at a C. I just need to find these guys a few good rivals. I was thinking of paring Chandler and Powell into an official tag team, but more on that later.

Shooter Sean Deeley - He's had some C matches with the DeColts and one with Art Reed, but his popularity is stuck at D+, mainly because I would forget about him at times. He had plenty of matches (21 wins, 9 loses, 3 draws), but I never really gave him a push. He would just beat the guys he was supposed to, and lost to the guys he was supposed to. I'm going to give him a few big wins at some point, probably later in the year, to see how that goes over with the crowd.

Stevie Grayson - It's time I tried to push him or relegate him to Lower Midcarder status. His average match rating was D-, his highest was D+. His popularity is in the toilet (D-), so I need to give him a real push to see what he can really do. It may have to come in the tag team arena, though.

Travis Century - His popularity has been rising steadily since August, and has gone from a D- to a C throughout Canada (except still just a C- in BC). And that was without really trying. His average match rating was bad, a D, but in his last match of 2008, he had a B- rated match with Alex DeColt, I may have relegated him to Midcarder if it wasn't for that match, but that B- match tells me he can really put on a good show, he just needed to get over first. Now it's time to push him a bit harder.

Possible Tag Team Combinations

Here is a list of tag teams that I am thinking of putting together. Obviously, I won't put them all together, but hopefulyl some good teams will come out of it.

Harrish Hash and Nathan Black - As a jobber team.
Art Reed and Freddie Datsun
Stevie Grayson and Davis Wayne Newton
Omar Brown and Alex Braun
Shooter Sean Deeley and Johnny Bloodstone - Obviously Bloodstone needs to stay in the world title picture, but they may make a good tag team when I need a temporary change of pace.
Eddie Chandler and Ryan Powell
Shooter Sean Deeley and Eddie Chandler
Joey Poison and Davis Wayne Newton
Joey Poison and Stevie Grayson
Danny Rushmore and Nathan Coleman - as a jobber team
The Cannonball Kid and Matt Sparrow - another jobber team

Anyway, expect to see some, or most, of these combinations in dark matches as I try them out.

CGC Title Bout Wrestling drew a 0.26

Ricky DeColt is quite pissed at me. He's been the focus of a few backstage incidents in the last few months, and I've fined him once and read him the riot act a few times. He also wants to be pushed as a Main Eventer (still have him at Upper). I pushed him up a bit and will give him a few easy matches.

I resigned Ryan Powell. $2000 PPA and a promise of a Midcard Title run (which I'm pretty sure the tag titles count as)

I resigned Dan DeLay to a $2500 PPA and a promise of a Main Event Title run, which means he'll win the World Title at some point in the next 18 months.

That's two guys I did have on Written deals. Now someone can come in and take them from me...like, you know, the SWF or TCW....

I ahve also extended my PPV deal for 6 more months

New Signings

This month, I went looking for a few workers that, while I will have to start off at Opener or lower due to hardly any popularity in Canada, have the skills to be very good workers at some point

Rhino Umaga
Heavyweight Brawler
Wrestling Skills: Brawling B-, Puroresu C+, Hardcore C+
Entertainment: Charisma C+, Acting C-
Performance: C+ to B+
Sex Appeal C, Star Quality C+
Face B / Heel A
Popularity: Canada E-, Japan D+

Notes: He'll start off as a Heel Opener, but I can see him losing his way up the ladder pretty quickly.

Mr. Lucha III
Lightweight Luchador
Wrestling Skills: Aerial B-, Flashiness B+, Mat C-, Chain C-
Entertainment: Mic C-, Charisma B, Acting C-
Performance: C+ to B+
Sex Appeal B-, Star Quality B+
Face A* / Heel A
Popularity: Canada F, Mexico D+

Notes: Face Opener, but like Rhino, he could move up the ladder quickly. May even be a good partner for Masked Cougar as a joober team for awhile.

CGC Title Bout Wreslting drew a 0.20

I found out about one of the teams. Masked Cougar and Mr Lucha III don't work at all.

Jon Jetson just isn't getting it done. He had two matches last year (one being a tag team) that was rated C- or higher. The rest we D+ or lower. It's time I started cleaning some house, and several workers will be getting the boot in the next few weeks. Jon Jetson is the first.

I'm also terminating Danny Rushmore. I hate to do it, but he just doesn't quite cut it as an Opener. His Selling and Consistency stink, and I kinda need those in an Opener.

Art Reed signed a Written contract with TCW, so he will be leaving shortly.

Push Changes (all promotions)
Ricky DeColt is now a Main Eventer
Trent Shaffer is now an Upper Midcarder
Harrison Hash is now a Midcarder
Tim Westybrook is now a Midcarder
Fumihiro Ota is now a Lower Midcarder

I am, once again, breaking my rule on not using Unchained storylines. I'm not sure where I want to take Elite and the DeColts, so I am using a UC storyline involing Bloodstone, Chandler, Steve and Jack DeColt, just to keep the heat going. I'll probably write something up for it soon.
