I think it would be a mistake. The Eagles have an aggressive defense, you don't want to hurt your future franchise player's confidence like that.

Smith didn't look good in the preseason. He has a way to go. Remember, he came from Utah, and the level of competition he faced in college was much lower than most top quarterbacks. His development will take a couple of years.

Am I the only one who thinks these two look a little alike?

Hopefully Orton proves to have the same injury problem.

Harrington is getting worse with each snap I think.

LOL. It's awesome that Mark Simoneau kicked the last extra point for Philly.

Kyle Orton baby! I think I am going to have to become a Bears fan (my 2nd team) because he is from PURDUE!

The Colts offense is way too predictable today...

Nah. While I can see putting in Orlovsky today, I think naming him the starter for the rest of the season is throwing in the towel.

Note to Joey Harrington: You are not the problem, so don't let the idiots that think a country boils down to only the President and a football team boils down to only a quarterback get you down. Relax, collect your paycheck and be content to get set down eventually for the next false-hope that attempts to play qb for the Chicago Cubs of the NFL.

I think allowing the abortion that is Joey Harrington play any more snaps this season is throwing in the towel. He's a loser, plain and simple.

The Lions should get Vinny Testeverde, Jeff George, Elvis Grbac, Tim Couch, and anyone else available on the phone.

The Pats offense has looked horrible. Drops and Brady missing wide open guys. Two games in a row Dillon's been a non factor.

See, here is why I was hoping Harrington and the Lions kicked the Bears' asses today.

I was hoping that if they put up a bunch of points on the Bears, then I could feel better about my Packers defense, who I thought played better then expected last week against the Lions. Now I have to think of a new reason to feel better....

Wouldn't matter if Joe Namath in his prime came along to play for the Lions, those blue shirts taking a Sunday afternoon nap in the three-point are supposed to be blocking.

I've lost a lot of confidence in Harrington, but it's not all his fault. With all that receiving talent on the field at once, you need a very inventive set of plays to take advantage of constant mismatches.

It's 31-6 at the half. I don't know what Lions fans are so worried about. They could easily score 25 points... over the next month or so.

I'm assuming that it is because he is likable off the field and has some friends, but I've never understood why the NFL puts up with cheap shots of Rodney Harrison. He's not as bad as Bill Romanowski, but I have no respect for Harrison as great a player as he is because he's such a cheap shot artist. Ripping Davis' helmet off is just the icing on the cake.

Every time Harrison does something like that, the referees watch him a little closer.

By and large, he's tuned down the nasty stuff in New England, but every once in a while, he pulls a stunt like that.

He is always around the ball. Just freakish in that respect. That's why Belichick puts up with it. But the act did wear thin in San Diego. They never would have let him go otherwise.

Vrabel goes on my asshole list. Runs over to the stands and get ready to throw the ball to the stands. Instead he stops and turns around. Seriously, your job is to play football, no taunt the fans. If this were Randy Moss, it would be all over TV the next week.

That was during the timeframe of the aborted Fowler effort, I believe, but Fowler's still a part-owner, isn't he? But it makes you wonder exactly what involvement Wilf had or whether his private feelings are different than his public feelings.

Regardless, man the Vikings are sucking.

Without a doubt. He had plenty of time in the pocket. He just cannot make that pass. Horrible.

That said, this is the second week in a row I'm watching Corey Dillon go down with touch tackles. It's also the second week in a row I'm watching NE not make any solid in game adjustements on the offensive side of the ball.

They are still the favorites and they are still a great team. . . but they are doing a lot of "little" things wrong that they haven't done the last few years.

Delhomme shows all the signs of getting ready to hand this game to New England. He's looking awful right now.

Can anyone with the Indy/Jacksonville game explain what's happening? I know it's not raining. As good as Jacksonville's defense looks like it maybe, it's unbelieveable that they could hold the Colts scoreless for the quarters.

It was said earlier in the thread. Neither QB has any time at all to throw the football. Jax is playing NE style football against them. Aggressive, bump and run coverage, not a lot of blitzing. There are seemingly seven white shirts on every tackle. To put it simply, the Jags D looks almost exactly like the Pats D of the last couple of years.

Colts are driving now, mostly on the strength of Edge. They'll score 6 in a sec.
