Excellent job Joe, that was just what I needed. Thank goodness that strategy paid off and we had a rather 'easy' night. Now where's the bar?

Post Fight Interview - Joe Bagadonuts

Charlie Stiener - "Pancho looked real comfortable out there tonight, any special reason?"

Joe, "We felt we had a real good fight plan tonight and I'm sure it was obvious early it was going to work."

Stiener, "Did you have any concerns, at any point?"

Joe, "Sure, I was afraid the ref was going to stop the fight. Pancho was bleeding pretty bad from the cut and his nose, but thankfully the ref let the fight continue."

Burt Sugar, "Gnu didn't connect with that many punches. How did Pancho get the cuts."

Joe, "I'd have to go back and look at the film to be sure...but I think they came from the headbutt and the elbow. Until the ref took a point away from Gnu...he was without question the dirtiest fighter we've ever faced. I'm glad we got the win. I hate losing to dirty fighters. I'm even more glad the ref didn't stop the fight, because I would have hated to lose because of dirty tactics."

Jimmy "Hurricane" Saunders (8-1-0) (5/0) vs Jimmy Rednick (8-0-0) (4/0)

PreFight Assessment - Larry Merchant

This will be a tough fight for both parties. Rednick is an unbelievable boxer, who adjusts his style based on what's going on in the fight better than any fighter I've seen. He typically starts out getting around 90 points a round. That's typically good enough to win most rounds of most fights, however, if it isn't good enough he'll up his effort to about 115 points a round. The intimidating part is he's capable of functioning at that level for all 12 rounds. In addition, if 115 points isn't enough to win rounds...or his opponent tires trying to outpoint him...Rednick switches to power punches and gets a KO. I honestly don't see any weaknesses in his game.

Hurricane has performed quite well in his career, and he is capable of doing a lot of different things in the ring, it will be interesting to see what he chooses. He'll need to stay busy to prevent Rednick from getting a lead on the cards. If Rednick gets a lead, Hurricane may be forced to go with allout rounds...something that is very dangerous against a fighter as good as Rednick.

Wow, sounds like a tough one for Hurricane. Maybe you can play with him a little, like go crazy with jabs to win the first round then knowing he's going to up his effort, slug him like crazy, rinse and repeat. What a fight though, two fighters with a combined 16-1 record going at it!

Well, I'm definately stumped and I'm curious what Joe has to say.

BTW, Breeze, can you enter long complex fight plans into your fighter's instructions? Is that how this guy can do everything he does?

SI,

Here is a sample fight plan that Condor's found. I'm sure this isn't exactly what Rednick is using, but it would be along the same lines:

#start efficiently to the body
1) 5B/7/8 (ring);
#not taking much damage - open up a little
if endurance_percent > 100 - (round - 1) * 3 then 5B/7/8 (inside);
#only taking a little damage - open up a bit more
if endurance_percent > 100 - (round - 1) * 2 then 5B/8/7 (inside);
#hardly taking any damage - open up a lot
if endurance_percent > 100 - (round - 1) * 1 then 5B/9/6 (inside);
#if the ref hasn`t warned you - cheat
if warnings = 0 then cheat;
#efficiently to the body
5) 5B/7/8 (inside);
#taking a fair bit of damage - use ring instead
if endurance_percent < 100 - (round - 1) * 4 then 5B/7/8 (ring);
#only taking a little damage - open up a bit
if endurance_percent > 100 - (round - 1) * 3 then 5B/8/7 (inside);
#hardly taking any damage - open up a lot
if endurance_percent > 100 - (round - 1) * 2 then 5B/10/5 (inside);
#if the ref hasn`t warned you - cheat
if warnings = 0 then cheat;
#losing - use an extra point of AGG
if score < 0 then 6B/7/7 (ring);
#losing by a bit - try an win round while using decent POW
if score < -1 then 8/6/6 (ring);
#opponent is tired and you are `still standing` - open up a lot
if opp < 2 and endurance_percent > 75 then 5B/10/5 (inside);
#opponent is tired and you `don`t need to rest` - open up a heaps
if opp < 2 and endurance_percent > 85 then 5B/11/4 (inside);
#opponent is tired and you `don`t need to rest` - open up a LOTS
if opp < 2 and endurance_percent > 92 and mystuns = 0 then 5B/10/5 (allout);
#you are tired - rest
if round = 8 and endurance_percent < 70 then 1/1/8 (clinch);
#opponent should be tired by now - keep to the body but 6 AGG could win rounds
9) 6B/7/7 (ring);
#losing or even score - try win rounds with decent POW
if score < 1 then 8/6/6 (ring);
#losing - try win rounds
if score < 0 then 10/4/6 (ring);
#can only afford to drop one round and still win - try win rounds
if score < round - 10 then 10/4/6 (ring);
#can`t afford to drop any rounds and still win - try win rounds aggresively
if score < round - 11 then 13/1/6 (outside);
#winning remaining rounds gets a draw - try for KD in increment score by 2
if score < round - 12 then 5H/11!/4 (inside);
#same as above but you `don`t need to rest` - allout then, you may get a KO
if score < round - 12 and endurance_percent > 90 then 5H/11!/4 (allout);
#you have lost - try wear him down more (KO him later)
if score < round - 14 then 5B/10/5 (inside);
#score = 0 - win round
12) 11/3/6 (ring);
#good lead - make sure you can`t get KO`d or KD`d
if score > 1 then 6/7/7 (ring);
#small lead - draw or better the round
if score = 1 then 9/4/7 (ring);
#small deficit - go for KD
if score = -1 then 6H/11/3 (inside);
#same as above but you `don`t need to rest` - allout then, you may get a KO
if score = -1 and endurance_percent > 85 then 5H/11/4 (allout);
#you can`t win on points, may as well cheat
if score < -1 then cheat;
#you are very tired (but not weak yet) and the opponent is also not weak - give up
1) if endurance_percent < 50 and opp > 0 then towel;
#you have won - keep trying to hurt him
1) if score > 14 - round then 5B/7/8 (clinch);
#he is weak and you are strong or barely tired - KD or KO him, doesn`t matter really, he can`t hurt you
1) if opp = 0 and endurance_percent > 60 then 5H/10/5 (inside);

Nice win by Pancho, overcoming a the dirty fight tactics of Gnu Clincher. Wonder if he's related to the Bicentennial Gift Clincher. If so, may explain the elbows. Probably a family grudge.

MC Wankster (7-20-1) (1/4) vs Brian "The Butcher" Babson (5-0-0) (2/0)

PreFight Assessment - Max Kellerman

"This is a joke right? MC Wankster has 20 losses and only 7 wins in 28 fights, and worse...in his last several fights he has only landed 3 punches a round. I don't know if he is suffering from brain damage or stage fright, but this guy has lost all desire to fight. He isn't as bad as his record would indicate. In fact, he started off his carear with 6 straight victories. However, something happened shortly after that and he hasn't been the same quick footed, quick handed fighter. In fact, he as lost 15 straight decissions."

---------------PREDICTIONS--------------

Kellerman, "If the old Wankser shows up, it could be a good fight. But I have not reason to think he will."

FOFC RUMOR

Word out of the FOFC Gym is Joe Joe O'Kelly is planning on retiring. Appearently, his level of effort in recent fights has been short of trainer Joe Bagadonuts expectations. Joe Joe is scheduled to fight this week, but it is believed he will announce his retirement following the outcome of that fight.

Post Fight Interview - Joe Bagadonuts

Larry Merchant, "Hurricane fought well, even tough the score cards don't indicate it."

Joe, "Yeah, we put up good round numbers, I wanted to switch to power punching a little earlier, but it just didn't happen."

Larry, "Why didn't it happen?"

Joe, "Probably because Hurricane thought he was winning round and didn't think he needed to go with more power. I'm not sure it would have mattered Rednick has unbelievable stamina in addition to all his other attributes."

Sugar Ray, "If you get Rednick again, what will you do differently."

Joe, "I'm going to have to look into that. I think we'll work inside. If he going to fight outside, we'll try to step inside his jab and work the body. We might drop our defense and go with big punches. The fact he had 4 KO wins scared me out of trying that, but he never hurt us. I may even investigate changing our style based on his style."

Post Fight Interview - Joe Bagadonuts

Kellerman, "What are your impressions of the fight?"

Joe, "That's the best question you can ask?"

Kellerman, "Well I think Wankster only threw 36 punches so how do you assess a fight when an opponent can't seem to figure out what he is doing?"

Joe, "Good point. That kid should retire."

Everyone in the room, "AGREED."

Joe, "But I have to say I'm glad to see Babson at 6 and 0. It's the best start I've ever had for a fighter."

Charlie Stiener, "Babson is currently up to #38 in the rankings."

Joe, "Not bad. If he were in a lower weight class and he had started like this he'd be in the top 20 now."

Stiener, "Yeah, cruiserweight does have a lot of fighters in that class. You still have concerns about Babson."

Joe, "Sure. I'd still like him to be a little stronger. But his footwork and strength have improved dramatically, and he's proven he can take a punch and KO people. So he has to be difficult to game plan against. However, all that can change with one poor showing, so we still have alot of work to do."

Gangsta OtherSide 8-5-0 (8/4) vs Jace Hunter 6-3-0 (6/2)

PreFight Assessment - Charlie Stiener

Gangsta fought against Blade in his last fight and completely dominated Hunter's gym mate. I think Gansta's power is going to be a problem for Hunter, who is probably more powerful than Blade, but also doesn't move as well."

-------------- PREDICTIONS---------------

Stiener, "Look for a rerun of the Blade fight from last week."

Atlas "I expect Hunter will use a different fight plan, but attacking will be the central theme of the plan regardless of how it is put together. I doubt this fight gets passed the 6th round. I don't know who wins, probably Gansta, but it won't make the 7th and there will be blood on the canvass."

Bobo "Mayor McCheese" Wilson (8-6-0 8/6) vs Blade (6-4-0 6/3)

PreFight Assessment - George Foreman

Here is a fight where both fighters typically win by or lose by KO. Should be entertaining. The key here is going to be the 7th round. If it goes 8, Blade has the advantage.

-------------------PREDICTIONS--------------

Foreman, "Blade in the 11th"

Kellerman, "Blade in the 12th"

Merchant, "I'll take Wilson. He's shown more in his fights. Especially when you factor in Blade's last effort."

bobby mcprescot II (7-3-0 1/2) vs Les "their" Cherries (7-2-0 6/1)

PreFight Assessment - Burt Sugar

McPrescott is a tough 7' 1" fighter he only has 3 losses, but one of those was to Joe Joe O'Kelly, a fellow FOFC Gym fighter. Joe Joe and Les' skills are different, so I'm not sure Les will be able to learn anything from Joe Joe for this fight.

--------------------PREDICTIONS-----------------

Burt Sugar, "I think Cherries will be able to capitalize from Joe Joe's style, and I don't think McPrescott will be expecting it, since Cherries has never really adopted Joe Joe's fight plan before. Cherries with an 11th round KO."

Sugar Ray, "With the exception of the Art of Pugilism Gym's 6' 10" to 7+ foot fighters, Bjorn Hanson, Alvin "The Anaconda" Johnson, and Sergei "AK-47" Popov, McPrescott is the best tall, long armed jabbing machines in the heavyweight division. Cherries can do some damage, but he won't be able to KO McPrescott. Cherries doesn't have Joe Joe's power, and more importantly he doesn't have his size or reach. McPrescott with a big win on the cards."

Well, this is hardly fair. I got the unbeatable Iron Redneck and you had to face off against Mr Magoo.

LOL

How about the fact that in the first round, your opponent landed 9 more punches than mine did for the whole fight?

What do you think Joe? I'm kind of leaning towards coming out throwing bombs to try and take him off his game plan early, or to get myself knocked out early I guess.

Travis,

I got you coming out doing a little more than Blade did, but still keeping your defense high. Then your resting a couple, then throwing bombs. If Blade had made it through the round he was KOed in....he would have had his way with Gansta. I think if you do a little more body work early, you'll survive the early rounds.

(But keep your fingers crossed)

Post Fight Interview - Joe Bagadonuts

Stiener, "Joe, this fight looked very similar to the Blade fight with Gansta. Don't you think you should have tried something different?"

Joe, "What did you want me to do. Have Hunter dance around? It's not like Hunter is Pancho or Saunders. He doesn't have the ability to completely change his fight plan. If I had gone with a ring style...Jace would have been sucking wind by the 4th...even if he hadn't been hit once. To let you know, we did have a different fight plan this time. We attacked more with Jace. Unfortunately, Gansta has faster hands...so he got his punches off first. I still think, like the Blade fight, if we could have gotten up that 1 last time...we would have won the fight, because Gansta was sucking wind."

Joe abruptly gets up and walks off the stage mumbling to himself...(damn reporters)

Charlie Stiener, "Joe, Les had ---"

Burt Sugar interrupting, "Shut up Charlie...let someone else ask a question so Joe will answer more than one before walking off the stage."

Sugar Ray, "I didn't think Cherries could do what he did tonight. You have to be please."

Joe, "Ray, I'm suprised you didn't think Cherries could KO McPrescot. Cherries has 7 KO in 8 wins, and the 1 he didn't get a KO in...he had such a big lead we decided to just let it ride. Cherries is a very powerfull heavyweight...with good overall skills."

Burt Sugar, "were you able to implement anything Joe Joe had done against McPrescott?"

Joe, "It didn't hurt having a fight plan that you knew was successful. We did have to change it slightly to match Les' different skill set, but for all intense and purposes we used Joe Joe's as a template for this fight."

Atlas,"Speaking of Joe Joe. What happened to him?"

Joe, "We'll Joe Joe decided he didn't want to work hard enough to be a fighter. He has decided to pursue other interests. I told him if he changes his mind and wants to come back...I have a spot for him, but he'll have to work harder than ever...since he'll undoubtedly be out of shape when he returns."

Atlas, "Out of shape. What is he now?"

Joe, "Um well...maybe I should have said more out of shape."

Atlas, "Since Joe Joe is gone, will you be looking to add another fighter to your stable."

Joe, "It's very possible. We have had pretty good success so far, so I think we will probabaly look for another fighter. If any have what it takes, are willing to work hard, and contact us...cause we are going to recruit anyone....we'll probably add another fighter."

Bobby "Baked" Beans 5-5-0 (5/1) vs Will Mitchell 3-3-0 (0/1)

PreFight Assessment - Teddy Atlas

This is a fight where you have a little guy slugger in Beans going up against a slapper in Mitchell. Both are .500 fighters, but Mitchell has won by outpointing opponents and Beans by pounding opponents into submission. In fact, I think Beans got a little caught up in trying to be something he isn't. Every time he has tried to win on cards he has lost. I think he's finally figured out that pounding away his his best option.

--------------------PREDICTIONS-----------------------

Atlas, "I think Beans despences with Mitchell early. If it goes more than 3 I'll be suprised."

Foreman, "I hope Beans decided to pound away. If he does he wins."

Sugar Ray Leonard, "I like dancers, but I don't think Mitchell has enough power to hurt Beans, and I think Beans knows it. That isn't a good combination if your Mitchell."

Joe, "Yeah, it was like watching a movie you already knew the ending to."

Stiener speaks up (Joe mumbles "Great"), "How easy was this win."

Joe, "So easy that Beans didn't get hurt at all, and in fact would be able to go out and fight tomorrow without any problems."

Stiener, "Mitchell was 3 -3 what made this such an easy fight."

Joe, "He couldn't hurt us, and we knew it."

Stiener, "You were stunned in the 3rd."

Joe, "Stunned yes, but that was with dropping our guard and throwing big punches. With all that he still didn't knock us down."

dude its just like who knows who and then over here you have favortism. I tried too hard to look good in my previous fights its real simple i have a cement head and need to make use of it in order to win my fights i can't out jab people i can't outslug knockout artists. Greg Haugen may not have been the fastest, flashy or strongest fighter but ask anyone who faught him will tell you he is tough, gritty, and comes to fight. I believe that while i may not be considered to be a champion in the making i believe that my best fights are ahead of me and if i can stay healthy the sky is the limit. I am not like the other fighters and the gym and i don't think joe had any definate ideas of what i can or can't do we are in a learning process and will be better for it. Lets see what happens over the next 6 fights i am very excited.

Crush de Oppressor 7-1-0 (3/0) vs Pancho O'Kelly 8-2-1 (6/1)

PreFight Assessment - Teddy Atlas

This is an extremely tough fight to evaluate, mostly because I have no idea what deOppressor is going to do. Oppressor has typically comes out as a counter-puncher throwing as many as 14 power punches, but in his last two fights he has been throwing as many as 74 jabs to go along with 4 power punches and 4 rights. That comes to 174 point rounds - Completely unbelievable. Combine that with the fact he didn't tire in those fights and I'm baffled by how Pancho will proceed. I would expect de Oppressor to go back to the counter punching style he used early in his career. Basically because Pancho is capable of hurting him, and if he attempts to score 174 points a round...Pancho will inflict some major damage early and possibly KO him late. But because he is capable of both, it makes planning against him tough. I asked Joe about this fight...and he said he was looking into some new training techniques that he hopes will allow him to get some additional insight into de Oppressor and how to beat him I don't know what he means, maybe he is visiting a psychic or something.

--------------------PREDICTIONS------------------

Atlas, "How do you beat a guy that can score 174 points in one fight for 12 rounds or KO a power hitter in another. I don't know how it is going to play out, but I think however it goes de Oppressor ends with his arms raised."

Looks like a very tough fight for Panch. I guess his best home is to do some damage and land a KO. Hopefully Pancho likes the role of underdog!

Post Fight Interview - Joe Bagadonuts

Atlas, "Joe, Pancho made this mcuh closer fight than the experts predicted, are you suprised."

Joe, "No. In fact, we should have won. This was the Bicentenial Gift Clincer fight all over. We have the lead and end up losing a 10-7 round in the 12 to lose in a close one on the cards."

Stiener, "This one hurt a bit?"

Joe, "Well it doesn't feel good. I though we were going to get the win. I really did."

Burt Sugar, "Anything positive you can take out of this loss?"

Joe, "Yeah, Pancho didn't get hurt and the fight plan worked pretty well. It will need some adjustments, but it worked well."

David Coleman Marucci (Rank #17)15-7-1 (8/3) vs Jimmy "Hurricane" Saunders (Rank #19) 8-2-0 (5/0)

PreFight Assessment - Charlie Stiener

This is a big fight for both parties. Marucci is a veterian, who is very experienced, but needs to win. If he loses it is destinctly possible this will be the highest rating he will receive.

Saunders is coming off a tough loss and needs to establish himself as a contender in this weight class.

-------------------PREDICTIONS-----------------

Stiener, "I think Sauders gets a lead and sits on it to win going away on the cards."

Atlas, "Marcucci is a tough fighter who has very good stamina. I would be suprised is Hurricane even knocked him down. However, I wouldn't be suprised if he won the fight on the cards."

Brasco Back 12-7-0 (7/2) vs Brian "The Butcher" Babson (6-0-0 2/0)

PreFight Assessment - Larry Merchant

Back is a good fighter, but I don't think he's at Babson's class. He tires a little quick and doesn't post big round numbers. He is obviously dangerous with his 7 KO's and 12 wins, but Babson has a lot of options here. I don't know if he'll work the body early and throw big punches late, or just get a lead and sit on it.

-----------------Predictions------------------

Merchant, "Babson outclasses Back."

Burt Sugar, "Babson wins on the cards, but it's closer than most people think."

Only 8 knockouts in 20-something fights? I think we go after him, well, as much as Hurricane does- dance around him while pointing him to death.

Post Fight Interview - Joe Bagadonuts

Atlas, "Joe I felt Hurricane would try to out point Marcucci, but I though you would go more with the jab than you did in this fight. Why not more jabs?"

Joe, "Typically Marcucci comes out and throws big punches and wears out an opponent. He has great stamina and uses it well. I was trying to guard against leaving Hurricane open to body blows that would tire him out."

Stiener, "Some very interesting scoring in this fight. What is you assessment?"

Joe, "I think we got screwed. Are you kidding me. 1 judge gives us 118 points and another gives us 113. I know it was close, but for crying out loud are they watching the same fight?"

Stiener, "Do you want a rematch?"

Joe, "Absolutely, but we'll probably have to win a fight or two before they give us one."
