Jim Lampley - Joe Joe continues to work very little in the ring, and he continues to get the KO when he needs it. The fights are pretty boring when Joe Joe is clinching, but extremely exciting when he gets that big body working. I'm going to be interested to see if his opponents catch on and figure out a way to counter act his style of fighting.

Jim Lampley - Blade won this fight dispite the fact he was losing early. He managed a KO in the 9th. I'm not sure that is a good sign that it took 9 rounds to knock out an 89 lb opponent. However, the Blade camp shrugs off any thoughts that their fighters inability to do finish off a half pint opponent is a sign they should not continue in the sport.

Joe Bagadonuts - We knew Hevywate was going to out work us. In fact, he would have continued to out work us if he could have stayed on his feet. We also knew he would tire throwing as many punches as he did. You can tell by the fact he was sucking wind in his corner in the 7th. I didn't want to risk a lucky punch early, and I didn't see any need to overwork Blade. Let Hevywate wear himself out...then finish him off.

I think I've found your problem man. When you're throwing an uppercut into a 5 foot tall man's stomach, there's form problems in there somewhere. That and it'd be a tad bit below the belt on a non midget.

Nice KO though, always knew the Raging Bull was your best strategy

POST FIGHT COMMENTARY

Jim Lampley - This was a tough loss for Bobby Beans. He couldn't seem to get to the quicker Biscuit. I think Beans will recover nicely from this fight and return to form against his next opponent.

Joe Bagadonuts - "This loss was my fault. I overestimated Biscuits. I new he could throw alot of punches, but I thought he was capable of hurting us. After watching the fight, I don't think he could have. I hope we get a rematch at some point. If we do...we'll throw caution to wind and go all out on the string bean."

Pancho O'Kelly

Pancho O'Kelly's opponent tonight is Ugezu Ibata. Ibata comes into the fight with a 1-5-0 record. His first 4 fights were KO losses. His most recent fight was his only win - a 120 to 108 decission. That might indicate that Ibata has improved, but in actuality he was fighting a boxer who was scared to be in the ring. In fact, the opponent managed to throw only 24 punches in the entire fight.

Bagadonuts - "We're going to fight our fight. We're not planning anything special for this opponent. The only thing we have to watch out for is that he's been asleep to this point and will all of a sudden figure out how to win."

Hurricane Saunders

Jimmy Saunders next opponent is Albert Anderson (0-1-0), a 5'8" 163 lb boxer who likes to work the inside. He typically throws 6 to 8 power punches a round. In his only fight, a 120 to 108 loss, he tired in the 9th.

Any ideas how you want to proceed?

You think I have the stamina to wear him out? If so, I could just duplicate last week's match plan.

Jimmy "Hurricane" Saunders Pre Fight Update

Saunders who is schedulled to fight on Thursday night has had very good results in sparring.

"We've used basically the same fight plan, so Saunders is comfortable with it," explained Joe Bagadonuts. "We made a few modifications to attack Anderson's weakness, but for the most part it's the same. Now we just have to hope he doesn't get Salmonella from that chicken episode."

TO Cherries:

Joe Bagadonuts - "Les, I'm not sure how you want to approach a fighter that's 6' 10". I can tell you in his one fight he came out and threw a ton of jabs (like 40 a round) early. He tired in the 9th, but was so far ahead he cruised to the finish. I'm not sure he has the strength to hurt you, but I wouldn't leave myself open early. I'd try to wear him out and finish him off in the late rounds, but it's your choice.

Joe Bagadonuts - "We are pretty familier with this guy. I'm going to suggest that his 1st round KO was more a matter of his opponent than his skill. He got the KO from outside jabs. I think 24 Carrots was a little glass jawed. We can work this any number of ways:

- use your standard fight plan
- adopt Joe Joe's (which worked but is a risk, cause your not Joe Joe)
- try something new to prevent the early round KO then attack."

Joe Joe,

Joe Bagadonuts - "Since his fights haven't gotten out of the first round, I can't even get punch counts on him. I know he's uses a feinting style, so he probably is pretty agile, and he's obviously strong. My guess is his conditioning isn't good. Again, like the others - if we get out of the early rounds we could be ok. If you want to work in an allout round or 2 or 3...let me know which ones."

I'd like to stick with the same fight plan as my last fight, see if this guy can handle having some bombs thrown back his way. And if I go down, then that's that and we'll regroup from there, let's give the fans what they pay to see.

Blade,

Your last fight plan wasn't bad. I think I would modify it slightly. I'll spar a few times and see what works the best, but I believe I would start by clinching, using a high defense, and working the body. In his loss to Joe Joe, Cuervo was worn out at the end of the 3rd round, and Joe Joe only attacked in the 3rd..in the first 2 he was storing energy for the allout round. If you can get Cuervo tired in the 4th or 5th, you'll own him late.

We can work in an allout round if you want - it increases the likelihood of a KO but also increases the likelihood you'll get KOed.
Let me know if you want to work one in.

Joe Joe O'Kelly Pre Fight Update

Joe Bagadonuts, "Joe Joe has looked good in his spars. We had a couple of problems early dealing with the 7' foot opponent, but we have a grasp on what is needed now. If we avoid the early KO, I think we'll win"

Blade Pre Fight Update

Joe Bagadonuts 'Well, we reworked the fight plan some, and I believe we can win. We had mixed results in sparring, but eventually I think we've come up with a strategy that will get us a KO around the 9th or 10th. Unfortunately for Blade, he's going to get hit alot first."

Hunter Pre-Fight Update

Joe Bagadonuts, "Hunter has looked good in sparring. We have been able to avoid the early KO, and then we've finished off the opponent in the 6th or 7th. Of course, that's sparring partners, we'll see if it holds up in the real match."

Les Cherries Pre-Fight Update

Joe Bagadonuts, "We're having a problem developing a fight plan for Les. His opponent is so tall and so active, he's almost impossible to reach. I know we'll have to KO him to win, because Cherries doesn't have the stamina to win on points. Magnifying out problem is the fact that the opponent does a nice job of jumping out to an early lead, then protecting it and himself. We developed a plan that has worked about 50% of the time is sparring. We can be more aggressive and try harder for the KO, but that will leave us open to getting hit with jabs. I'm going to leave that up to Les."

I think that your suggestion of modifying my original plan is perfect. Please use your suggestions, but I do not want an allout round...the way I am going, I will get KOed doing that...

I've been away most of the week so I missed Pancho's 3rd fight. Nice win by the Latino Irishman. Although Ugezu Ibata didn't put up much of a fight, I'll take a knockout anyday. Nice fight plan Breeze!

Cherries Post Fight Comments

Joe Bagadonuts - "We just couldn't seem to get him worn out. I thought for sure if we worked the body we'd wear him down. But he just seemed to get stronger. Then we got ourselves in a position where we had to have a KO to win, left ourselves open trying to get it, and got tagged. We'll regroup this week and see what we can come up with.

Joe Bagadonuts - "We knew Pain was dangerous, so we decided to go slow with high defense early, then take the fight to him late. Unfortunately, our defense wasn't good enough. He came out with both guns blazing in the 2nd and caught us with a good punch."

Post Fight Commentary

Jim Lampley - "What an exciting fight. Lots of punches thrown, lots of action. It ended up being a situation where both fighters were tired and it was going to come down to who wanted it more, and obviously Hunter did with his incredible 8th and 9th rounds."
